Très bon emplacement pour une nuit, proche de la gare de train.
Hotel ancien avec moquettes dans les chambres. Quinze minutes d'attente à la réception (un seul employé) avant de pouvoir faire le check-in. A l'arrrivée, capsule expresso trouvée au sol de la chambre. Machine à café avec capsules usagées dans le conteneur. Chasse d'eau qui fuit constamment, il faut appuyer plusieurs fois dessus pour l'arrêter. Propreté moyenne. Porte serviette totalement rouillé dans la salle de bain. Température très élevée dans la chambre (en mars), nécessité de laisser la fenêtre ouverte constamment.

Great location, solid old-school attractive interior, clean comfortable room, good reliable fast WiFi, mostly pleasant helpful staff.
If you prefer a cool bedroom, beware! The first night, despite the "cooling" system being on full, the temperature started at 25.5°C, and ended up >27°C - we slept badly, and woke up feeling dried out. The next day, having left the windows wide open all day, the temperature was down to 20°C (great!) but the centrally-controlled radiator in the room was hot - and the staff were unable to turn it off. This night was better, but we still woke up hot and dehydrated.
(Note: this is also a minor downside of the great central location - it's too noisy, being right next to the busy central tram station, to leave your windows open all night.)
Also, minor nitpick: the in-room Nespresso coffee tasted awful - undrinkable. But luckily there are lots of decent coffee spots nearby!

Konnten ein Teil des Gepäcks einen Tag vor Ankunft einstellen( Hatten viel Fasnachtsmaterial)
Minibar kühlte nicht,Stuhl im Zimmer alt und mit Flecken,ebenso Teppich.Teilweise Zimmer staubig.

I do not like the cover on the floor, I'm allergic to this synthetic floor cover and I was afraid to touch it (I had a feeling that it was not properly clean), I did not like the noise of the air conditioner, It was disturbing during the night

The location was great. The breakfast was excellent. The staff were very courteous and helpful. I was surprised there was no assistance to help with luggage up the entrance stairs, or a ramp. My father is elderly, and although we are capable people, it was a bit surprising at such an elegant hotel, conscientious in that respect was lacking. Especially when we each had two large suitcases.
The lighting was tricky in the rooms. Some of the outlets did not receive the grounded electrical adapters.

Location is just in front of the Basel SBB train station. It was not too loud and very easy to travel around. The late check in is accepted. Very clean and the room was comfy.

very rude and disrespectful staff at reception. I returned from work to find my room was not clean. on reporting to reception his first reaction to my shock was “how do we know you didn’t mess up the room!”. I was shocked in utter disbelief at his response. how could anyone say such a thing let alone even do it! the staff then went abusive and threatened he would do nothing. very rude guy Cedric I think his name was!! shocking they treat business customers in such disrespectful and abusive way. STAY AWAY FROM SUCH TREATMENT AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY!!!!

I arrived at 9.30 as my train was delayed. There was no possibility of a snack even though the bar was still open.
I asked the receptionist if there was an English/ American TV Chanel of any kind they had no idea, and there was nothing in the room or on the TV that was easily accessible. This a 4 star hotel ?
