Our room had a very big window that we enjoyed. The nights were cool enough, the size of the room is very decent. It's very close to the centre, maybe a 6 minutes walk. Monteverde is very quiet, but you have many things to do. We prefered much more Monteverde than La Fortuna, so much more quiet ! I liked the room where we had breakfast too, and our host is very kind and tries to make you feel at home.

The only problem for us is the toilet that made strange noises, like bubbles. The water disappeared and the bad smell would come. We had to flush the toilet to make it better. The walls are a bit thin so if you have noisy neighbors as we did, you'll hear them. But the price is very decent for what you'll have.

Close to the center of the city. Breakfast is also nice.

The B&B was a really nice place. We stayed for 6 nights and enjoyed that everything is in close reach. City Center is within walking distance, as well as nice restaurants and a supermarket. The staff was friendly and helpful with any questions. The shared kitchen and fridge were practical and the simple breakfast a nice add on. Overall it is a good and simple place to start exploring Monteverde. We also liked the cat.

The shower didn't just look unsafe (elictricity wise) but also was hard to get on a nice temperature. The shared kitchen did miss some basic things like salt and pepper as well as more than one pan.

The room we stayed in next to the office is very basic. Only a double bed in there, there is nothing where you can put your stuff, no shelf or cupboard or even a hanger or a chair. If you stay there more than just a night or two, it is very challenging to organize your clothes and things. We were there for 5 days but nobody came to empty our bin in the bathroom, which can be very smelly as you cannot throw toiletpaper to the toilet.

the breakfast in the morning was fast and delicious, which made the room a great bargain. The gentleman in the office was very very nice about trying to help us book tours or plan activities. He was helpful with information. The staff was very accommodating to our arrival after they’re closing time. I liked that we could have a larger room and the price was very reasonable. The beds were into the most comfortable with matches is similar to what you expect on some thing like a futon. We looked around at other listings and if you look closely at the picture you can see that seems to be common in the area.

I didn’t feel like the room was thoroughly cleaned. the cup in the bathroom was full of toothpaste marks. The shower drain wasn’t draining well and it turned out I had to scoop out a bunch on toilet paper from the drain which would have been from the people before us. The hot water stopped working after one person took a shower. I went down to the lobby and the woman told me we would have to wait until the following day until someone could fix it. That would be OK except the following day they showed us two rooms connected to the kitchen which were recently renovated and they don’t use. They were much nicer than the rooms we stayed in and I felt a little frustrated that we had to take cold showers and we’re not offered to either switch rooms or at least used to shower. I’m not sure if the phone number they have on booking works but we talked with the owner and she said that they had a widespread outage of some connection issues that night so I believe it was just a connection issue.

Very helpful and nice staff, everything including tours etc could be organized from the hotel. Good included breakfast, room big and nice air. Good stay!

the location was good, walking distance to centre but away from hustle and bustle. gentleman in the office was friendly and helpful. the second deluxe room was bright and airy and finished to a better standard.

arrived to be put in the wrong room (we were upgraded to a deluxe and got a dark/damp family room). multiple hairs in both beds in both rooms, no hangers in either room and the deluxe room had no fridge. also no option what you would like for breakfast for example I do not eat eggs and was given scrambled eggs. lady that worked there didn’t make us feel welcome.

amazing breakfast. The staff were so helpful in giving information and getting trips booked. made everything really easy. Great location, short walk to town and beauty spots.

Small family run b&b. Very friendly, in the heart of town. Can help with local and onward travel. Would recommend.

Great place for those who are on a budget! Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Very minor, but if we took a shower longer than 5 minutes there was water everywhere in the bathroom (slope of shower wasn't in the right direction).

The breakfast and double aspect room

Once we got moved to the room we booked it was good and had a lovely double aspect. However the pillows were really thin, the towel rail and taps were both broken and the wind howled through the double glazed windows at night.

I would not recommend to stay in this place. The owner deceived me about the price of the room and about hot water. Put me in a small room. The hot water at night didn’t work. The room was cold and wet. No one cleaned the room. There are good places in Monteverde but not this one.

Great isolated and silence spot close to a touristic town area full of services. Great nature surroundings. Big-sized room.

The budget room is very simple but the common area is very nice. Breakfast is included. There's also free coffee and tea the whole day. You can cook if you like.

The budget rooms are right next to the common area so you get all the noise. It's not too bad but if you don't have a car be aware that Mari's B&B is located a steep walk uphill from the center of town.
