A real jungle oasis - we loved our stay at Wild Lotus! The property itself is stunning, very lush and green, a perfect place to relax. It is family run and their warm hospitality is what make this place so special. Everyone we encountered was welcoming, friendly and accommodating. The owners even helped organize with our friends abroad to make our stay extra special since it was our honeymoon. We had two lovely and delicious dinners (including the BBQ bonfire) and a full day safari with Nelson (the best safari guide!) where we saw so many animals. The Bungalow was spacious & comfortable, the perfect place to come home to after a full day of exploring.

We've stayed at many wonderful places during our travels, but this place was really one of the very best for us. The property is lovely and very clean. The pool is nice, you can take in the view from their lookout tower, and they have options for eating dinner (our 2nd night, they had a barbecue with a bonfire and torches lit around your table). The room was also fantastic... incredibly clean, very spacious, and had anything and everything you'd need as a traveler. We did a full day game drive with Nelson, and he was a great driver and guide... we eventually saw a leopard towards the end of the day! Lastly, the staff are some of the most friendly people ever. Gamini is incredibly helpful, answering our questions on next steps of our journey (self-drive trip) and is just a great person to talk with to get to know.

Wild Lotus was the best experience we have had as a family in a long time. The villa easily accommodated five adults and two children extremely comfortably. We all had two amazing nights sleep. The pool was stunning and was a big hit with our little ones as well as feeding the goats and using the hammocks. Sudhu and the team were so helpful and friendly they were all very accommodating, nothing was too difficult. Sudhu even took us to the doctors when our little one was unwell. The level of care and attention to detail is unparalleled. We also did an afternoon safari with Nelson who went above and beyond to ensure we had an amazing experience despite the rain and we even saw a leopard. This was the experience of a lifetime we would highly recommend.

Overall our experience was amazing, if we were to really be picky while the food was amazing and the service incredible there were a few minor errors with orders placed. This however did not take away from the whole experience which was amazing!

Wow! Exceeded all our (high) expectations. Our first visit to Sri Lanka for our Honeymoon and my 30th Birthday. The communication in advance from Madu and Kristin was fantastic. They organised a transfer from the airport by Chimander in THE comfiest van. We had arrival drinks, cold towel and the owners were kind enough to invite us to celebrate Vesak at a local temple in the evening. We booked an afternoon Safari with Nelson in a HUGE truck and were lucky to see all sorts of animals including elephants, mongoose, beautiful birds and monkeys. The weather early May was mainly sunny / cloudy with a few hours of rain most days, usually in the morning. We were lucky to spend time with Jayantha whom showed us many local sites and we saw fruit bats and some very special owls! The food was INCREDIBLE and a huge highlight- we recommend the pumpkin curry, green bean curry, fruit bowl, Sri Lanka breakfast, buffalo curd and warm cinniman bananas. The actual accomodation is superb and SO clean, the outdoor shower is hot and good power but still feels tropical. The bath was pure luxuary. Sudu, the manager, was very attentive and speaks great English and was able to organise everything we needed. He was good fun and a character! There were no real negatives to the stay.

Coffee could have been better, a little more choice with snacks / tuk shop / mini bar. Maybe a local cookery type experience?

Absolutely everything. Sudu and the team were incredible, nothing was too much trouble and the facilities were perfect. We went on a full day safari with Wild Lotus (highly recommended too*) for my brothers birthday and the morning we went Sudu greeted him with a very cheerful Happy Birthday at 5.30am! They also organised a birthday cake for him and presented it after a wonderful BBQ in the garden. There were some blackouts while we were there but if we wanted to there was a back up generator. It really did feel like a home from home especially having the dogs and chickens wondering around too! Can’t recommend enough! *Nelson took us on a full day safari and from start to finish we enjoyed every minute. We went out in a classic Land Rover Defender which was really comfortable even over the rough terrain. He was so knowledgeable and clearly loved what he did as he even asked me to send him a photo I took of a young deer feeding on its mother. He showed us lots of species of birds, multiple elephants, Sloth Bear and he was determined to show us a leopard and we were lucky enough to see two in the end! Highly recommend!

Sudu and the rest of the staff were incredibly nice and attentive. The bungalow is the best hotel we‘ve stayed so far, with such beautiful grounds and pool. We could definitely tell that the owner is an art teacher, as the rooms were designed and furnished in a unique way that we loved. Especially the outdoor shower is amazing! It‘s very peaceful and quiet, so we could really enjoy our stay. The food is tasty and plentiful. We cannot recommend this hotel enough and look forward to visiting again!

Our visit to Wild Lotus was amazing! Even before we arrived Madu, the owner, arranged our transport from Colombo and our onward journey. The place is beautiful, so tranquil with lots of natural wildlife especially birds. Madu’s team made sure we were well looked after throughout our whole stay. On arrival Sudu showed is where everything was and made sure we had everything we needed. The staff keep the accommodation spotlessly clean and gardens well manicured. The food we had was excellent especially the Sri Lankan curries. We did a number of excursions which they arranged, all were extremely well organised and very enjoyable. The Safari in particular with our driver and guide Nelson, who made sure we saw as much as possible, was a highlight.

We cannot say enough good things about Wild Lotus. The staff are all amazing. The manager Sadu went over and above to make our stay perfect. Breakfasts were so delicious, we had the sri lankan breakfast and smoothie bowls. We had both dinners on site. One night we had prawn curry which was excellent and the other night we had BBQ whole fish, which was served amidst torches beside a bonfire. The grounds and buildings are beautiful. Everything is carefully considered to make guests comfortable,including a fridge full of cold drinks and a water cooler to refill our bottles at any time. Unfortunately their safari jeep needed repair and could not be used on the day planned. Sadu quickly arranged a jeep and driver and accompanied us on safari to ensure we has the best experience possible. Which we did, we saw so many animals and the highlight of the day was seeing a Leopard right at the end of the day, thanks to his expertise. We highly recommend Wild Lotus!

Everything! Sedu was perfect and made sure we had everything we needed. refreshments on arrival. The moonlight dinner. The BBQ. the sunset from the water tower. The safari. The pool. The bathtub! The outdoor shower and the Villa itself. The staff were so helpful and friendly and let me hold the baby goat. Friendly dogs everywhere. Can’t find anything wrong with this place. it was nothing short of perfect!

The best hotel we stayed in Sri Lanka. Everything was just perfect: beautifully decorated, spacious and sparkling clean villa. The pool area is well maintained. Hosts and staff are very friendly and caring. They arranged for us a barbecue dinner near the bonfire, the atmosphere was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay and can’t recommend better!

We had the most wonderful stay at Wild Lotus - everything was absolutely perfect. On arrival we were made welcome by Sudu, who continued to look after us exceptionally well during our stay. He was really kind and helpful and sorted out whatever needed to be sorted. Our room (or should I say flat?!) was beautiful - the team had even decorated it for our honeymoon. There are lots of little touches, polished concrete floors, an outdoor shower and a huge bath. The bed was extremely comfortable (with proper mattress) and we even had a kitchen area and living space with board games. It had been raining heavily so some of the garden was under water but that only brought the lake with all of the birds even closer. The food (rice and curry) was delicious and we got a packed breakfast for our safari which we arranged with wild lotus. The safari was a complete highlight - Jayantha spotted so many animals (including the elusive sloth bear and sambar deer) and was really helpful and kind. He also provided binoculars and a bird watching book to show us all the animals. The driver did an excellent job navigating even the almost completely swept away roads. One minor car hiccough in the park was swiftly resolved by the very professional team.

The road in was difficult to navigate so make sure you book a driver who is happy with that (our standard Toyota did ok). The road is currently being repaired and should be finished when the rains have gone.

Great property. Had everything we wanted. Lovely pool, nice garden, great BBQ. Very relaxing. Staff was exceptional and very friendly and attentive. Excursions were arranged by the staff and the food was great. Very child friendly.

Just the distance from the main road. Not an issue if you have a vehicle.

Very charming boutique hotel with nicely designed family room/ bathroom, most charming outdoor shower with palm trees, very lovelygarden and pool, all specklessly cean and well maintained. Family run, one feels the personal touch and loving hand. Excellent dinner, very good breakfast with mangoes picked freshly from the trees. we loved the atmosphere and would have liked to stay longer. They offer safaries, have good looking bikes (we didnt use them). We can wholeheartedly recommend, also for a longer stay, i. e. those that want to work remotely in nature setting.
