Location was solid and the view from the terrace was absolutely amazing.

-nicest staff we’ve encountered in Italy! especially Sabrina who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. even prepared us some pastries for breakfast the night before our check out since we had to leave before breakfast started. -beautiful roof top terrace with stunning view; very peaceful -great convenient tours offered through the hotel at reasonable prices -nice modern rooms

The hot water doesn’t work well, you freezing if you take a shower more than 10 minutes and the pressure of water is low. We comment this inconvenient to the host, surprisingly to us at the end she confronting us instead to give a solution. So for the category of hotel and the price you pay it doesn’t comply. On the other hand, the rest of the staff specially Sabrina is a kind person who explains everything well and is really helpfully person who knows how to treat client.

We felt very comfortable in the time-honored ambience of that monastery in mid-March 2023. The magnificent view from the roof terrace is spectacular, which we enjoyed every day. The central location of that accommodation is ideal for exploring both the Amalfi Coast and Naples, including Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Hikes are also attractive, e.g. on the well-known ‘Path of the Gods’. Unfortunately, this tour was heavily frequented in early season, already. For those who prefer a quieter environment the no less charming coast of the Sorrento Peninsula is strongly recommended, which is near. The small port of Massa Lubrense is also ideal for short boat trips to Capri. Although, we arrived Relais il chiostro much too early, we were warmly welcomed by Antonio and could check-in, immediately. Moreover, he gave us many valuable tips for dinners in the vicinity of Relais il chiostro, which all convinced us. We also enjoyed the varied breakfast served by Juicy & Arianna overlooking the courtyard planted with orange trees. Hospitality and helpfulness were exemplary throughout the stay. This was not least due to Sabrina, who is the proverbial ‘good spirit’ of Relais il chiostro. The cost/performance ratio of Relais il chiostro is fair.

It should be clear to every guest in advance that in such a hoar monastery refurbishment has reached its structural limits. This applies to the small shower, for example. Despite of my size of about 1.88 m and my weight beyond 100 kg, I was able to come to terms with these conditions.

A beautiful place with a breathtaking view of the islands, the sea and orchards of fragrant lemon trees. Beautiful and clean accommodation. Excellent and varied breakfast. Wonderful garden. The genius loci here is palpable. Great service and absolutely 100% professional attitude of the staff as they were able to arrange a trip to Capri on a very tight deadline.

The location is unique, the staff is always available to make the stay great. Value for money amazing!

Nothing to complain about

The monastery is a unique location to stay. The staff is friendly and helpful. From Massa, you can easily visit the Sorrento coast, the Amalfi coast, Vesuvius, Pompei, Heracleon,.. There is a good restaurant just next to the monastery.

The rooms are rather basic. Ofcourse it's a monatery, but I expected nice decorated rooms (on the photo's it looked better) and more comfort (bed had a hard mattress). Because of an unexpected photography job I asked if I could check out 1 day earlier, to be able to stay closer to Salerno, where I had to do the photoshoot. But they were not flexible about this; I had to pay for the booked 4 days.

Historical place, completely renovated, bed was perfect, breakfast worth the money, sunset on the rooftop terrace is a muss.

It was spacious! Breakfast was generous, staff were helpful!

The bathroom was too small! It was not comfortable to have a shower. One knocked into everything....but to be fair, they did say that the bathroom was small and I guess in return they gave 2 rooms for the 2 of us which was ideal!

This place is perfect! Amazing location, quiet place, very friendly staff members, spoiling breakfast with view of the garden. The sunset on the roof terrace is a must!

Nothing to complain

We very much appreciated the help from Sabrina and the whole the staff. I got very ill during my stay and they helped my wife in every way to find support for me. They also helped organize a trip to Capri (though we had to cancel that). All around very nice folks. The place itself is very quaint, about a 15 minute drive from Sorrento itself. You'll want a car or moto if you're staying here. Plenty of parking spaces. There's a nice rooftop if you happen to be there during a sunset. Adjacent to the property there is a church that regularly holds services. I wandered through sacristy by mistake and nearly walked out in front of the congregation during mass. Whoops!

Like other reviews say, the shower is small. I'm a tall and relatively broad shouldered person but I had just a few inches of horizontal clearance in there. It's great otherwise though. I didn't mind it at all but some of you might, if you're on the larger side.

Everything was perfect!

Everything! The accommodation is on an idyllic place, with gorgeous views to the sea! The sunset views are breathtaking. Staff was lovely and super helpful, always concerned with our comfort. The little details make a difference, like leaving umbrellas at your room entrance on a raining day. Breakfast was really good and the room beautiful and super comfortable. I will miss Tigre, the priest’s cat 😊

Nothing. I understand it can be a bit far from the beach but we had a scooter so that wasn’t a problem.

The staff was great making all efforts to find a tour for us to Capri; parking nice and free and breakfast with fresh fruit.

Stairs to get in (with a big bag not easy)

the atmosphere of the cloister-turned-boutique hotel was exceptional, Antonio and Arianna (run the place) were outstanding hosts, made it so very personalised, and went way out of their way to make me feel truly welcomed. So much detail into preparing the breakfast, it will most surely exceed your expectations, add the the fact that you can look down into the internal courtyard of the cloister was an additional bonus.
