We absolutely loved our stay! The condo was in a perfect location on a beautiful beach with tons of pools. The condo was well furnished and a lot of thought had gone into supplying it with all of the comforts of home. We loved having the towel service for the beach and felt like it prevented sand from ‘following’ us back. We brought way too many clothes not realizing there was a washer and dryer in the unit. Can’t really think of one single thing we would change except for lack of restaurants within walking distance. There is only one on site.

We have stayed at many properties over the last 30 years and this property is one of our favorites. This particular unit was quiet, centrally located, everything worked, and we had the feeling we were part of the island culture.

We LOVED Honua Kai and the check in process was super easy. It was a little hard to find the right tower but once we did, the front desk staff helped us check in very quickly. We were able to check in early which was a blessing. The only (minor) issues we had were with some of the amenities. The coffee maker didn’t work and was missing pieces. The air conditioning was incredibly temperamental so it was often reallllly hot in the unit. The fold out sofa is falling apart. I saw another reviewer mention this but I figured they would have replaced it. The sofa bed portion got jammed upon trying to fold it up our first morning making it unusable. Communication with the owner was amazing and they had someone fix it the same morning! Overall, we enjoyed our stay and will consider it again for future trips.

The rental was clean and well stocked with essentials. We really enjoyed our stay and hope to stay again in a few years after west Maui rebuilds from the fires. The only problem I saw with the rental was the pullout couch was kind of falling apart but it was still usable.

Great 1 bedroom suite that allowed our kids to take over the pull out couch and have their own space. Very clean unit. Full kitchen made it nice to cook a meal in. Great location and pool area. Would absolutely stay again…when I save up enough to come back.

Really enjoyed our stay - we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Eating meals out on the lanai was a highlight of our day. We enjoyed the pools and close access to the beach. Since we had a toddler with us, we did need to move some items out of the way for safety (there are no baby locks or similar on cupboards) but that's expected when traveling and wasn't difficult to manage. We definitely hope to return and would recommend this listing.

Beautiful studio, comfortable accommodations, large kitchen, ocean view. I loved being able to keep the doors open, and there was even a very large screen door to prevent bugs or mosquitoes. Large bathroom. Parking in basement was tight but kept the car cool. Great pools. Of course we always love Dukes and the property.

We booked for 2 nights because we couldn’t get into our regular location when we needed to. This was a nice place. Much more “resort-like” than where I’m used to staying. The unit was nice and clean. “Sleeps 4” is probably not meant for a family with older kids like us. We were a bit cramped with the sleeper sofa out but we made it work. Amenities were nice. It was a bit confusing to find at first but the on-site staff were very helpful. There were no wristbands so I’m not sure what happened there.

Enjoyed our stay in this condo. It was fully stocked with cooking and food storage essentials. Great breeze and Mountain View from the lanai to enjoy morning coffee. Only downside was a sign on the side of refrigerator that we didn’t see until making coffee the next morning stating you “might want to freeze meat” until refrigerator cools after stocking it. Our Costco chicken didn’t survive but we did! 😊

We stayed for 10 nights and could have stayed for 10 more! We loved the resort, and the amazing communication with the host made everything ten times better. The kids had an absolute blast on the water slide and in all of the pools. The beach is right there with amazing snorkeling within a short walk. We even did long walks (to Black Rock and further) then took the bus back which was super easy. Loved the location, the condo was super clean and had everything we needed. High speed blender, rice cooker, basic spices, tons of to-go containers, plenty of towels and blankets…can’t say enough amazing things about the condo, the location and the hosts. The local food trucks were great. Duke’s on site with servers coming around all the time…we were SO happy. Thank you Jill and the whole team!!

We had a wonderful stay at Honua Kai! Great location in Kaanapali. The kids absolutely loved the property with all the gorgeous pools, many hot tubs, water slide, waterfall and easy beach access. The kitchen had all the basics needed, a great deck, beautiful finishes and we all felt at home.

We have a timeshare nearby, but after long travel - it's nice to stay a couple days at a different place to extend the vacation. This was my first time staying at Honua Kai. The resort is fantastic, rooms are great. To me, though, the benefit of this vs other places -- is the check in and out process. Each door has a code for the individually owned condos (might use the term wrong). I received great communication, instructions - and seriously just drove up, unloaded and walked to the room. It's like National Car Rental / emerald aisle! At my timeshare after the stay -- room wasn't ready until 6pm, check in took 1/2 hour.
I'd definitely go back to Honua Kai - and also with this owner.

My husband and I stayed at this property for our honeymoon during the 2022 Christmas week. We thought the place was very clean and spacious. We loved spending time out on the lanai in the mornings. The only issue we had was the AC in the unit but we realized we didn't close the door to the lanai properly (a tip for future visitors). Also if you don't like children running around in the pool area then this place isn't for you, but we enjoyed it because we liked how lively this place was! This is a great option for those of you who want a resort experience without paying for an expensive resort stay.

We loved staying in this Honua Kai unit which was perfect for our little family. When one of us was cold at nights Hula Hideaway immediately brough a nice cozy blanket for the pullout couch. We appreciated all the items that were included in this unit like laundry and dishwasher detergent, although a little more toilet paper would be a good thing. The property was clean and well maitained and the property description was accurate. I would recommend this to a friend and we love staying at the Honua Kai because it is very family friendly with lots of pools. It is frustrating that sometimes you cannot find a parking spot but it is nice to have the valet available at a very reasonable rate. The one thing that I would like the management company to know is that there were cockroaches in some of the cutlery and kitchen drawers.

This condo has everything you need, it's super clean and the bed was so comfortable. The location is steps away from the beach and the pools were a blast! Thank you for providing a wonderful vacation spot for my family and I to enjoy.

Great facility. I was here with a colleague for a work conference. Great facility and communication with the staff. There are three pools and a nice beach to hang out at. Only downside is the parking. The parking garage fills up really quickly. We got home a 9 from a luau one night and there were NO spots available. We made our own spot and got a notice our car would be towed if we did it again. Not sure if there were other places we could park, but there were s few nights we didn’t go out because we were worried we couldn’t get a parking spot when we came back. Kind of a bummer because the resort is great. We didn’t ask if there were other places for us to park.
