The photographs of the hotel on the website do not do it justice. We have stayed in many 5 Star hotels and this was the most outstanding in every way, service, food and accommodation.

From the moment we walked in, Andrea engaged with us, checking all was ok and even giving me a route to run. His big smile and friendly demeanor was lovely to see. His knowledge of the area and the hotel’s history was incredible . The rooms are beautiful , spacious and well equipped . The shower is seriously the best I’ve ever experienced ! Breakfast was good and most importantly the coffee was excellent ! The only areas that I found lacking were the lack of USB ports to charge devices and the fact that there was no coffee machine or kettle in the room .

The location and old building are beautiful. The personnel despite being very short staffed were wonderful Hortensia especially deserves a gold medal

it was very warm and we were initially on the top floor so even with air conditioning the room was hot— 80 degrees. Room furnishings very sparse

The location was good, the gentleman at the check in was very helpful and kind. It was quiet, and very clean. The parking was easy and convenient. They parked for us. Helpful! The bathroom was spacious.

Our window looked into the neighbors fish tank. Yikes! The room was incredibly hot. Even though they said there was AC. Not true. We asked the other man down stairs if they could fix it, but he had an elaborate not truthful story about why it was hot. We came back the second afternoon, mind I slept none the first night because the bed was so hard and the room was so hot, the same man was in the lobby and became very rude with us. After we asked about the temp of our room. He also charged us $26 euros for two waters. Double yikes! 24°c is the coolest the AC could go.

Optically nice. Spacy and good stocked bathroom, though one has to be careful to get in and out of the bath/shower (my room would not be recommended for people 60+). Staff was helpful and friendly and the bed was comfy.

A real problem was the aircondition. Not only it was maxed at 20 degrees, but it also turned itself on, even if I shut it down. Once in the middle of the night and once after I left the room. Ok, cooling down shortly makes sense in hot temperatures, but that there is not even an option for 22degrees (21-22 is the humans room temperature) or more is a problem. So it was litereally cold in my room and I got a running nose. Not sure what they do in winter? Also the house is badly sound-proof. Sadly my request for a room on the top floor was not granted and so I heard all walking on top of me. Also the Church direktly next to the Hotel heavily rings the bells on Sunday 7am (!!!) and 9am for mess. I would understand noon, but 7 and 9 am on a Sunday? Ok, not the Hotels fault of course. Small thing: There was a "lunch" option promised, but the only possibility was a toast/sandwitch with ham and cheese. Nothing else, no sauce, vegetables or salat... All that considering from a 5-star Hotel with juciy prices.

Front desk staff was not helpful and most definetly not friendly at all

Location is superb, staff is friendly, staff restaurant recommendation is better to ignore and just stop by a restaurant with the most people.

AC can’t be used until May according to the front desk, “government instructions”… Room was too warm and it’s quite loud/noisy outside with party people when you sleep with the window open (because there is no A-C).

Breakfast! Excellent selection. Great preserved fruits. Salames, hams, prosciutto, scrambled eggs, chocolate, hazelnut and butter croissants, cake, apple tart, good cheese selection but not all local, and more! Equal to the best anywhere I've stayed. It was just a block away from Osteria Francescano

My friends booked it and $600/night was way above my price range. I can do without gold thread monogrammed towels, slippers, and robes. i prefer low cost rooms so I can spend more on food.
