What a wonderful place this is. Our stay in this beautifully converted rice factory was perfect. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and we ate a delicious breakfast underneath the vine leaves in the courtyard in the sunshine... magical. We would love to return one day...

We had a pleasant stay. The room was so beautiful, completely renewed and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The breakfast was an exclusive experience, they freshly prepared the meals and we could ordered boiled or scrambled eggs for example. The lady that received us gave us a tour around the historical building of the hotel, it was very nice. Sure we would love to stay again next time!

Lidia is one of the best hosts we have encountered over many decades of a very high degree of international travel. The accommodation can accurately be described as quaint. The whole concept of looking after guests is as perfect as one may expect to get. The bed and bedding was of very high standard. The breakfast was supplemented by organic products from the property’s own garden. There is ample free parking very close by and the centre of town is a short drive away. I personally cannot believe how little they are charging for such a high quality product. I enjoyed my evening in their living room whilst my wife was resting due to a cold. The property is very inviting in every sense.

Quiet location, beautiful large garden, citrus trees, grapes, swimming pool, communal garden. Large old house, completely renovated, but with the historical style preserved. Large kitchen, which has everything, you can cook and eat here, especially when you don’t want to go anywhere, due to bad weather, the room is small, but the bed is comfortable and warm.
Very friendly host who was waited for us. He told us briefly about this hotel (which was the home of his grandfather, the main rice producer of Portugal), about its history, about the place. Gave recommendations where to go, what to see, where to park the car. And the whole evening we talked with Lydia, an extremely friendly staff member. In the morning, a delicious fresh breakfast was prepared for us personally, as well as for other guests.
it is a pity that it was not summer and that we were only 1 night. We will try to fix it next time

This was much better than expected. Oryza is a very old but renovated house, full of character and little touches. Guest have full access to the common area, including the kitchen, where you can make yourself coffee or grab a beer from the fridge. There's a lawn with veggies, orange trees, a pool and outdoor tables.
Really beautiful place, perfect for a relaxing stay off the beaten path. The owner Luis was beyond nice and welcoming, as was everyone else in the staff. Highly recommend, would for sure stay again.

The place was very beautiful and well maintained. They have their own garden that grows fruits and vegetables, that were served for breakfast and are delicious. Last but not least, the staff was incredibly kind and hospitble. We enjoyed our stay a lot.

the property was enchanting. Luis, the proprietor, turned his family villa into a bed and breakfast with only 5 rooms. The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, and the host was incredibly friendly. The location was less than a 10 minute ride to center city Coimbra. The best part was the organic farm on the property, so in the morning we had the freshest organic fruits and vegetables, literally picked within an hour of our enjoying them. We were invited to visit the gardens which were spectacular. If I could rate this property higher I would.

We loved the decoration and the authenticity of the house. Far from the fuzz of the city, it is located in the outskirts with an organic garden. The house is from an old rice production facility and the authenticity is preserved very well. Luis was very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, stylish and the bed was very comfortable. You can take an easy and cheap taxi drive to be in the city. The breakfast was very abundant and filled with fresh ingredients from the garden. We absolutely loved our stay here, and when we are back to Coimbra - which is an amazing Portuguese city - we know where to stay.
Even though it is located outside of the city, it can still get noisy because of the cars and the barking dogs in the village and since it is an old house, the noise isolation is not so good.

There you stand in front of a blue iron gate. You think is it here then? But once through the gate there is an extremely enthusiastic reception. A beautiful tastefully restored house. a beautiful suite with separate toilet and bathroom. A delicious breakfast with fruits from our own garden.

Somewhat different accommodation. A combination of new and old. If you want to stay at home, this is the right choice for you. You are free to use the kitchen. The breakfast is delicious.
You record the drinks you consume on trust and pay when you leave. The rooms are clean, although small. The bed is comfortable. Very quiet neighborhood (you might be woken up by a rooster at 4am). The yard and plants are very neat (the pool is very small and needs renovation). Wi-Fi ,
is excellent. You need a car or Uber to get to the city, or you can use a free bike. Parking is outside the building and free of charge. All praise to the facility and Mrs. Lidia.
