The location was perfect for the bus and walking downtown is also possible, but it's challenging in the heat. Close to a grocery store. The restaurant was very nice, however, I only ate breakfast once as I was visiting family.

The Retreat is cute and has a fun history. The restaurant and live music are nice and intimate. However, this time of year was a challenge given the extremely noisy air conditioning unit and refrigerator in the upstairs room. It was necessary to leave the unit on at all times (I experimented!) and it was less than adequate and way too noisy, making restful sleep a challenge. Not sure what the answer is. I would definitely come back, but not in the heat and mugginess of Sarasota in early September.

The street noise

We went as a staycation the unique setting and facilities were great and the Friday night atmosphere in the courtyard was really nice. Loved the history and the classic old architecture and style.

Some door hardware needed replacement as well as the windows could be better.

The location of the Reserve is exactly what we needed for distance from family. We enjoyed dinner at the Reserve one evening and the brunch on Sunday. They were both very good. The staff that we encountered was friendly. The Mable room had a loveseat for sitting and watching the Roku tv.

It is located on a round-about so it was loud on Friday and Saturday evening due to traffic. The building is old which is the charm but there is no noise insulation. The room was warm since it was a loft and the window a/c unit couldn't keep up with the July heat and humidity.

Full service, good location and price that made more sense than the other exorbitant prices of the surrounding area! I’m glad they preserved this spot.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience staying here! We stayed in Charles and the room was not only clean and decorated in a cute way, but the kitchen is fully stocked with every amenity you will need and they also leave you a complimentary bottle of wine which was such a thoughtful touch! Every member of the staff I interacted with was very friendly and helpful and they have live music on the weekends. We made a reservation for dinner on Saturday night and they reserved a table right outside our room and next to the stage for us! The food was excellent. Highly recommend to anyone staying in downtown Sarasota it is close to everything and right next to a grocery store. They also have a binder with a complete guide of recommendations for things to do in the area. Can't wait to come back! A little bit pricier than other hotels in area but it's so worth it.
