Beautiful and enourmously spacious apartment in an old palace in the heart of Ortigia. We were warmly welcomed by Maria. A bottle of white Sicilian wine and some "dolces" were already waiting for us. The kitchen is well equipped so that you can prepare fresh food from Ortigia market. Don' t miss it! I highly recommend this apartment! It makes your stay in Siracusa very unique.

Spacious apartment in Ortigia, recently renewed, very nice location.

Everything! The location is perfect - it is right in the heart of everything. It is about a 3 or 4 minute walk up a beautiful and charming street to the Cathedral/Duomo and about a 2 minute walk in the opposite direction is a lovely little beach. The Maniace Castle ruins are about a 15 -20 minute walk along the boardwalk by the water. The entire area has street after street of charming shops, restaurants and coffee bars. This was my favorite place in all of Sicily and I will definitely return! Francesco, the owner was so kind, helpful and always in touch via WhatsApp even though he was out of town. His property manager Maria is fabulous! She was so helpful and always available. She met me near the Cathedral since my GPS got me a bit lost after I entered the city center. She met me on foot and then road in my car with me and showed me where to park and then walked me the 1/2 block to the apartment. She helped me bring my luggage up and down the stairs and showed me where everything was in the apartment (which is so comfortable and lovely). She doesn’t speak much English but we managed just fine via Google Translate. I plan to return and stay here again, hopefully many more times!

I had very minor hiccups, the first with MY improper use of the front door key. I had the same issue at a B&B in Palermo and have learned that it’s very simple. Just turn gently to the right all the way and push the door open. I suggest you try it while Maria is still there with you to make sure you understand. The other was that the gas had been turned off without Maria knowing. So I had no hot water at first but she took care of it as soon as I brought it to her attention (and Francesco’s). Being in touch with them via WhatsApp was so helpful. I used this with all of the places I stayed in Sicily and it made everything so easy.

Location is perfect, close to main attractions in Ortigia, plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance. Even though the apartment is in the middle of town, we slept well and were not disturbed by noise, its fairly quiet on the top floor of the building. Please be aware that there are about 50 steps and no lift. Maria who took care of the check in and check out was very kind and helpful. Apartment was clean and functional, kitchen was adequate for a light breakfast (a toaster would be a good addition). The photos are a good and true representation of the property. I would stay here again and would recommend this to friends and family (as long as they can manage the 50 steps)
