Great location. Stayed previously and enjoyed the updated kitchen. House very comfortable for all ages. Safe new dock. Even caught a few fish off of it. Would definitely stay again. Everything is as advertised!

For the second year in a row my family vacationed with some friends and had an absolute blast! (6 of us in total) Great house and spot on the lake! Plenty of room for us, swimming and kayaking is excellent. Even on rainy days the hangout room downstairs provides a lot of fun. Planning to go back next year!

We've rented a lake house every summer for the past 12 years, and this was one of the nicest we've had. The house is on one of the narrow inlets on Sleepy Hollow Lake lake, and the only motorized traffic was from pontoon boats, which are no-wake and almost silent. Even though other houses are quite close on either side, the trees provide great privacy (and lots of bird song), and you're not really aware of the neighbors. Swimming was excellent - no algae growth or weeds on the lake even after an unusually hot July. We enjoyed the deck and the dock area, especially the fire pit in the evening. As other reviews have mentioned, the kitchen is a little small, but very functional, and all the basic supplies you need. Communication with the owners was very good, with quick responses to our questions. Would definitely consider renting again.

We all loved everything about our stay at Chalet Vinci on Sleepy Hollow Lake. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed spending time down on the dock swimming, canoeing, fishing and relaxing! It was agreed that it was one of the best vacations!!

We were two families with kids aged 6-10. The lake access was fantastic, there were water craft in good condition and plenty of PFDs. House fit our crew easily and we loved the base zone with pool table and darts. Lots of fun games as well. Kitchen was well stocked and despite a slightly tight counter space we did cook 6 dinners for 9 people without any problems. Grill with extra propane was a nice touch too! The lake temperature is really nice even for early June. I would recommend this place with hesitation for families or groups looking for a comfortable lake house.

We’ve vacationed a few times now with another family and this location was the best so far. Private bedrooms/bathrooms and the game room downstairs is excellent! Water from the dock is very deep and clean…great for swimming, kayaking, etc. We’ll be back…highly recommend it.

The house was beautiful and well kept, although most of the beds were way too soft. Access to the lake was challenging for some of us. There is a ladder but it was difficult to climb up from the water so some of us had to climb over slippery rocks in a different area in order to get out of the lake. I wouldn't recommend this property if any has any mobility issues. Mike was very responsive any time I asked him something. However the communication could have been improved. The listing says there is a kayak for our use. We used it, and right away water started coming into it. I wrote to let him know and it turned out a former guest had broken it and it wouldn't be fixed until after the summer. It would have been nice if he had let us know in advance that it wasn't available. To not let us know once we were there, no note, no sign, nothing, that was upsetting. We had to find out it was broken by using it and having it start filling up with water! Also there is a projector in the basement next to the TV. I spent a while trying to figure out how to use it, I looked everywhere to find a users manual and eventually asked Mike. It turns out it's not hooked up to use. If it had said somewhere that the projector isn't for guest use I would have had no problem with it, but again nothing was communicated about that. There is also an electronic card needed to access the community beach area, but that was never communicated either. We went to the beach area and realized it so we had to go back to the house to get the card. Another thing that should have been specified somewhere.

The house accommodated our family get together with flying colors. Enough room and space for various ages. The playful boats were lots of fun for all ages. And the water was perfect for swimming. A really good spot.

Lovely community, But there was a leak under the kitchen sink. This had to b known, as there was a big bowl underneath. Ultimately the leak entered the basement ceiling and a tile fell off… leaving a musty odor. Property needs more attention, but we enjoyed our stay. The lake is beautiful!

House was spotlessly clean. Everything shown online was accurate. Especially enjoyed dock and the lake. Water was clean and boat traffic very light (which was nice for the youngsters).

We returned to Sleepy Hollow Lake and this lovely home after having stayed here in 2017! We loved it the first time and enjoyed it even more this time! This was a family trip to enjoy one another's company and time on the lake. We swam and kayaked for a good part of every day. We cooked all our meals in and didn't leave the property except for quick trips out to restock our essentials. The kitchen has been completely renovated since we were last here and it's absolutely beautiful! This is a well cared for home that supplies all the essentials for an enjoyable stay! The lake is absolutely divine...clean, clear, and inviting! Interacting with Mike, the owner, and Pat, the property manager, is seamless. Responses to questions are promptly answered! Our family votes this one of our best lake weeks ever and we will look to return next year!

This house was lovely. My husband and myself went with three other couples, mostly family. The house slept us all comfortably. The views are gorgeous. We were able to play tennis at the local courts and check out the brewery in town. Overall, our experience was lovely and we’d definitely recommend.

As it was just the two of us, it was really luxurious to have so much space. But we could see 6 - 8 people staying here and being very comfortable. The house is great and has everything you need. Great view of the lake from the deck and the downstairs outdoor area. Sitting down by the lake is also so nice. People in boats and paddle boards would sail by and chat, and we met one of the neighbors and everyone was really nice. We had an issue one day (very minor) and I was hesitant to contact Mike, the owner, as it was already the evening, but he responded immediately and was very gracious and helpful. The downstairs area with the big tv was great for watching movies at night. The whole house is roomy and spacious. With travel restrictions in place, it was nice to be able to get away without going too far to such a lovely, charming and pretty house. Very much recommended.

We booked this property at the start of COVID (March), so that we could have a getaway and luckily for us it all worked out. The location is perfect if you want to get away and just chill on a great private lake. The house is well equipped with linens, towels and some of those basic things like salt, pepper, detergent etc. In addition to those there is the kayak, paddle board, canoe and paddle boat which we used as well. You are on the quiet side of the lake where there is a no wake zone and very little boat traffic, so swimming off the floating dock is awesome. Overall the place is fabulous, Mike and Angela are SUPER responsive. We made an error in our booking we thought we had the place thru Sunday, but quickly realized that we did not and so we overstayed by about an hour and a half and Mike and Angela were very understanding. Thanks for letting us share your awesome place!

We loved our stay at Sleepy Hollow Lake! The house was immaculate and pictures don’t do justice at all! It was spacious enough for our big family and it was filled with so many activities to keep busy all night long. My kids enjoyed all the movies, board games, and especially the projector. The lake was pristine. It was our first time staying in a lake home and we made use of all the water activities. We had so much fun peddle boating and kayaking for the first time. We absolutely loved the pool and the beach. It was so clean and not crowded at all. Mike was prompt and so easy to get in contact with. We are making this home an annual family tradition. Thank you Mike for letting us stay in your gorgeous home and for allowing us to make great memories that will last a lifetime. Definitely looking forward to coming back again!

We very much enjoyed our time away at this property. The view from this home is lovely. We enjoyed use of the water toys and the firepit. Having a community pool available was great too.

Couldn't have asked for a better home with a perfect lake view set up and very comfortable for our group of 10 folks...House is little bigger then its on the description ...Comfortable, Calm and Serene....Highly Recommend...Will visit again...

The house was nice and the tv room downstairs was perfect for relaxing. I appreciated the laundry detergent and salt/pepper/oils for cooking. However, there weren’t any hand towels or wash cloths for the bathrooms and only one hand towel for the kitchen. The kitchen is also kind of falling apart (the racks in the dishwasher will jump out and kill you if you’re not careful) and it didn’t have basic things like a whisk or a pan that didn’t have the Teflon scrapped off.

Unfortunately we had issues with our bond being not refunded because after checkout the owner emailed me photos of damage to one of the couches which I was not aware of and I am still not sure we caused. The photos show tears in the fabric of the couch at such a close up view that I cannot determine where in the couch the tears are located nor how big the tears are. All I recall is cleaning up and not seeing any damage to the couches. It is possible my kids may have cause some damage although they just watched TV and ipad on them so I cannot believe the damage was "irreparable" as quoted by the owner and the bond being taken . I have emailed the owner to send better photos and clarify the damage - without any response. This is very disappointing and really puts a damper on how I feel about recommending this place to others. Otherwise it's was nice enough place to stay.

We stopped on the way in at a Brewery called Crossroads which I highly recommend, beer and food was fantastic. Check in was simple but strict on the 4pm time. We got there at 3:30 and cleaning lady was just finishing up. It's a key less entry so it's timed for 4pm. Lake was warm and clean. Fishing, boating and swimming galore conveniently located steps away. The part of the lake they are on is very quiet. Down by the pool and beach it's a little noisier with motor boats and tubing. Many people have pontoon boats and they would wave as they passed, very friendly community. They have plenty of water toys, life jackets etc. Kids loved the SUP, they should probably invest in another it was a big hit. We had so much fun relaxing and spending time together. House is clean and very well stocked with pots, pans, silverware etc. the only thing we couldn't find was a cookie sheet to roast veggies. Grocery store is 25 minutes away. Make sure you stock up and meal plan. BBQ was clean and easy to use with plenty of propane. Fire pit and s'mores at night were great. My favorite part was sitting by the fire late at night listening to nature. We were a family of 10 ranging in age from 10-72. My only suggestion if traveling with young kids or older adults is the steps to the lake are steep. My parents handled it like champs but they are in very good shape for 70. Young toddlers might have trouble as well. You will love this property if you are looking for a relaxing and fun vacation.

Our family enjoyed our stay at Sleepy Hollow Lake - the house was awesome for six adults - plenty of room - loved the steps down to the lake & solar lights for safety. The fire pit, peddle boat, kayak, deck & dock were all great. Plenty of privacy & very friendly community. Would certainly rent this house again!

No matter what time of the year, their are many things to do at this great location. Nature is everywhere and so are good restaurants and stores. We had a great time at the Chalet

We rented this house to spent Thanksgiving and we had such an amazing time! The house was clean and practical. We had everything we needed. There were lots of games that we loved to play with specially because it was freezing cold outside. We'll have to try it again in the summer and enjoy the beautiful river!

I booked Mike's cabin for a weekend getaway with a plan to propose to my girlfriend. When a big storm was forecast and an algae bloom closed the lake, Mike went above and beyond to help me keep the weekend alive. The weather broke on Sunday and we went for a hike to Kaaterskill Falls (highly recommended). I hiked in with my girlfriend and hiked out with my fiancée. Mike's cabin was the perfect spot to stay the weekend. Very cozy and ample space. Quiet and private. We'll definitely be making another trip back. And of course it's now a sentimental location for us. Chalet Vinci!

Spent the weekend at this cute cottage, which easily provided comfortable sleeping accomodations for 6 people sleeping separately. A very pleasant place to hang out, beautiful dock and views, and easy access to restaurants and the towns of Hudson and Athens. Owner and managers are very nice - easy to book and access.
