The venue Is really nice with a beautiful Ocean view from the terrace. A few meters from Kendwa beach. Very nice and friendly staff. Good breakfast, great (and fairly cheap) restaurant.

Lovely little guesthouse, we loved the restaurant, great menu, and delicious free buffet breakfast. ( I loved the selection of cakes at breakfast- very indulgent!) The rooms are simple but stylish , set in a small cosy courtyard with a pretty garden. The rooms can be cleaned daily if you request it ( just hand your key in). There is a lovely atmosphere in the guesthouse, the management and staff are really helpful and very friendly. It feels very safe and secluded. It's a short walk to a beuatiful beach, we took up the offer of wristbands which allow you to use kendwa rocks sunbeds and pool which cost 20 usd each for our entire stay ( 7 nights), this worked really well for us and is really good value for money. We really enjoyed the themed african night, which I believe happens weekly at the guesthouse, with traditional African music and a set three course menu. We thourally enjoyed our stay at la fontana😊

Great staff and wonderful owners! Felt very welcoming and really enjoyed my stay! The food was absolutely incredible! I hardly recommend La Fontana!!!!

Good location, though access is not immediate. They have a partnership with Kendwa Rocks Hotel and for 20 USD you can enjoy their pool and beach sunbeads. The restaurant is very good. Great food with normal price range. Good breakfast as well. They are worried about the quality of the stay and ask for feedback at the moment, which gives guests the opportunity to communicate if something is not going so well and they try to improve / meet your needs, which happened to us.

Just had a small soap in the washbasin area. Though they are not a hotel, it would be nice to have a small shampoo and shower gel. Room cleaning would work better for me if it was dairy by default. But you can ask for it daily with no difficulty 👍🏻

great hotel close to the beach. quiet area. And the Staff is amazing!!!! they went above and beyond to help me celebrate my friend’s birthday!!! they made a sign in the room gave her a piece of cake and when she got hurt they help with bandages and désinfectant!!!! amazing!!! they were also able to help with a tour…. the food at the restaurant is amazing!!!! Don’t hesitate to stay there.

the price of chairs and umbrellas at the property they have a deal with is $20 a day per person which I find quite expensive….

Very tasty breakfasts! Salad, scramble, freshly squeezed juice, a plate of assorted fruits, dessert and coffee/tea of choice. Location - 400 meters to the most beautiful beach in Zanzibar - Kendwa Beach, at the hotel you can buy a ticket for the entire (20$) stay on the beach hotel Kendwa Rocks first line, the beach is comfortable (deck chairs, umbrellas, outlets for charging, wi-fi, shower, toilet, order food and drinks without getting up from the chaise lounge, pool). The most important thing about this hotel is the care and attention to the hotel guests. Starting from the gardener, who is always friendly - and will ask how things are with a smile, such a nice man, to the hotel owners - when we were burned - found us aloe, always checked how things are and whether everything is good, etc. The guys at the bar in the restaurant also super service always.

Uncomfortable access to the hotel, hopefully in my next visit this will be fixed. Sometimes turn off the light - here as an option solar panels.

Very good option to be on Kendwa beach for normal money with good quality. Staff is super friendly. It is oasis of calm just few minutes away from Kendwa beach. The breakfast is good, but the pasta and. Pizza and soups are fabulous. Owner is Italian family and the main chef is Italian. The rooms have good AC, are simpl but have each porch or balcony. We liked the tranquility of evening with nice flowers and trees. The restaurant has gorgeous sea view.

In one room the mattress was very soft and no mosquito net.

The hotel is very close to a wonderfull beach in Kendwa and restaurant is very good. Sunset view of the restaurant is very charming and staff is very kind and helpfull. So we were very satisfied.

we had an amazing stay at La Fontana! check in was outrageous. Ali explained and showed us everything and we felt super welcome. Clean, beds are comfy and the breakfast delicious! don’t miss to have a dinner at the restaurant! the Italian chef cooks amazing pasta and you have the perfect sunset view!

the garden room was a little small and we could have used some more towel hooks in the bathroom

We loved the location of this hotel! Kendwa beach is very nearby and it's easy to walk there. La Fontana has a great deal with Kendwa Rocks hotel for the guests to use their sunbeds on the beach. And the beach is amazing!! Far better than Nungwi and maybe the best beach in whole Zanzibar. Futhermore the staff in La Fontana was very friendly and helpful. We also loved our room, which was spaceous, clean and had ocean view. We stayed here one week, but could have stayed longer!

There could have been more choises at breakfast, but it was still good!

Absolutely amazing place to stay in the beautiful beach of Kendwa. Ali, Manuel and Flavia are the best hosts you could ask for in Zanzibar. The food is simply delicious. From breakfast to lunch, dinner and special theme nights, it was always a yummy experience on a cozy terrace with stunning views. The room was spacious, clean with a great view. The staff and the general atmosphere made us feel welcome and comfortable at all times.

Getting there with our hire car was not fun! Very bumpy road and tight bends to park in a narrow street in front of the property. Glad we were the only one staying with a car!
