Looking for an old and authentic apartment in the center of Villefranche-sur-Mer with a stunning view? This is it. The apartment is full of details and charm. And, the cherry on the cake is the view from the balcony. Nothing beats this view with a glass of rosé. Restaurants are on crawling distance and so is the beach and the train station. Other towns are a stones throw away.
The apartment is well furnished and stocked. Plenty of kitchen appliances, cleaning products, coffee cups, towels, it was all there. The location convenience and authenticity cannot be beat.
Were there any gripes? Sure, the bed was a bit too soft, can’t park the car anywhere near (it’s the old town), no airconditioning (but that’s only a problem in August), some of the beach utilities need replacement, hygiene was ok but overall cleanness needs improvement.
Would we book again? Yes, but we would go outside of the hot season.

We loved our stay! Daniel was amazing at check in, even help carry in our luggage! told us where to eat, park and anything we asked. The place was pretty clean, the only suggestion was to maybe do a deep clean of the kitchen cupboards but eveything else was great. Ample towels and an incredible view from the balcony. We loved it.

We had a great stay, location in the old town is perfect for restaurants, the beach and the trainline, the flat is well lit with a nice balcony over looking the Villefranche harbour. It has a well equipped kitchen and any issues were dealt with quickly by the owner. We will be back.

This apartment is on a quiet side street in the old town of Villefranche sur mer. It is on the second floor and older in style, but is also one of the best equipped places we've stayed, including a dishwasher and washing machine that is uncommon in such places. It is close to train and bus services, but not appropriate for those who have trouble with stairs, as the whole town is on a steep slope. The crowning asset of the place is the balcony overlooking the gorgeous harbour. There are many small restaurants with excellent cuisine in the neighbourhood and one small grocery store. The owner is very helpful but most comfortable in French, so use Google translate in your messages. Our stay was memorable, comfortable and relaxing. We'd definitely return.

We had two fantastic weeks in last part of May 2023. The location is perfect in old town, very quiet, wonderful view over the bay from the balcony. A very charming and rustic appartment, well equipped. Just a short walk to bakery, shop, beach, bus and train - and to a lot of good restaruants. We would love to come back!

Our stay here in VFSM was magical. We loved being in the old town, which was scenic and very quiet. The view from the flat is fabulous, and on the balcony we enjoyed morning coffee and evening wine. Marie-Joelle’s taste in design is sophisticated yet homey with a touch of whimsy, and she is an excellent hostess. We’ll be back!

We had absolutely the best time staying at this lovely apartment. It has everyone one would ever need for a 'home away from home' and a gorgeous view of the bay. Very centrally located, on a quiet street with plenty of privacy from the surrounding neighbours. We would definitely want to stay here again.

The apartment was exactly as presented with the balcony is the highlight bringing amazing views of the bay. Villefranche sur Mer is wonderful. Great communication with the owner who accommodated our very late arrival. Nice touches in the apartment too e.g. sun umbrella, beach chairs, bathroom and kitchen amenities. Really great.

Lovely View of the Bay
The apartment is as quaint and lovely as Villefranche itself. We enjoyed the balcony for our morning coffee and fresh croissants and in the evening for a glass of wine before going out to dinner. It was always a pleasure to come back to the apartment after long hikes and visiting the hill-top villages of La Turbie, Roquebrune, Tende, etc. The apartment was very well equipped and very comfortable for us. We kept all the windows and french doors open which always gave us a cross breeze even in the warm days of June. This apartment is in a great location for the Old Town, train station and many wonderful restaurants and we highly recommend it. Also there are many nice walking trails nearby and we especially recommend the "Train des Mervais" which you can get info from the Tourist Office at the upper level where the Saturday/Wednesday outddoor market is held.
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment and highly recommend it.

Charming, idyllic setting in Villefranche Sur mer
Oozes charm, beautiful location in the heart of villefranche’s medieval town overlooking the bay . Loved just sitting on the balcony taking in the ever-changing moods of the bay . Artistically decorated , good shower, comfy beds, loved the shutters

Great spot
This flat is ideal for those who want quick access to old town Villefrance, the Gare (train) and to the beach/restaurants. It's a quiet location with an excellent veranda view (especially at sunrise - so get up early). House was very stocked with necessities.

Great place to stay
Villefranche is one of our favourite places to stay and this location is fantastic - in the old town and close to everything but still quiet. You do need to be able to do stairs! The apartment has a lot of character with weathered, old world style yet with a modern bathroom. It's an eclectic mix inside with an amazing view of the bay. A bit of investment in a new mattress, sofas, and patio chairs would make it a 5 star stay. Highly recommend.

run down property
I stayed here with my mother and daughter. We picked this apartment because of the location and amenities. The location and view were wonderful. Great spot right in the old town by all restaurants. The view from the balcony was also beautiful. We were very upset that when we tried to wash our clothes on the second night, the washing machine did not work. The owner's son came to the apartment of the following
day and said it was broke and they would order a new one. We picked this apartment because it had a washing machine. We did not pack a lot of clothes because we intended to do wash while we were there. I have voiced my frustration over this issue with the owner prior to submitting this review. The owner has yet to acknowledge my concerns.
Also, the furniture is very old and really could use an update. We were giving no instructions on where to put the trash or any details about getting around town. Only stay here if you want a good location, do not expect everything in the apartment to work.

A great break in Villefrache old town
This apartment is full of old world charm, has a great view from the terrace and is in the heart of everything: shops, great restaurants and the excellent Deli Bo beach club.

Quaint Old-Town Apartment
If you're looking for a small, old-style apartment in the center of Old Town Villefranche, this is the place. In the heart of the historic "vieille ville", you are within 150 meters of all the restaurants and shops in old town and the quai (waterfront). The Villefranche-sur-Mer train station and beach is about a 10 minute walk. The 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom was a perfect for my daughter and me. 2 adults and 2 children would fit well, but 4 adults would be a tight fit (1 person would be in a loft bed in the second bedroom).
For travelers that require modern amenities and conveniences, be aware that you cannot drive to the doorstep. We were able to park on nearby Avenue Georges Clemenceau every day, but street parking can get challenging during beach season. And like most classic European flats, there is no air conditioning, but the owner provides two portable fans and there is a ceiling fan in the main room. But be aware that the coast can get pretty warm and humid during the summer months (28-30C/82-86F during out stay) and it only cools slightly at night.
Also, this property, like all of old town, is NOT suitable for people that require handicap or wheelchair access. Old town is all irregular stairs and cobblestones, so be prepared to climb (and to carry your luggage up and down stairs!)
But with those disclaimers, we found this property absolutely charming and relaxing, and would love to stay here again (perhaps in the fall or spring, when it wasn't so hot!)

Fantastic location in the heart of Villefranche
Marie-Joelle's property is as the photos show - in the heart of the Villefranche old town with sensational views of the bay from the balcony. Although the property is an older villa, it is equipped with a modern walk-in shower and toilet, a good stove and oven and a comfortable bed - all the simple things that make for an easy, enjoyable stay. Marie-Joelle is also a wonderful, accommodating host. We relished our 2 week break in Marie-Joelle's apartment and will definitely be back!

This is a cute 'petit villa' however if you are concerned about stairs, it's not for you
The view is breathtaking and I spent hours just staring at the sea.
It is a darling but aging stay and could use some upgrades on
appliances. Many stairs to restaurants and main street. Also, master bedroom door does not close so if you want privacy, you won't be able to close the door.

Whimsical
We enjoyed our stay so very much! Marie-Joëlle was so kind to help us get situated and car parked upon our late arrival! This flat is perfectly located and close to everything Villefranche has to offer! Sipping wine in the evening or coffee in the morning from the porch is transforming to the soul while viewing the boats swing on hook in the bay…. Neighboring villages of Nice, Eze Village and Monaco are so close-easy and fun to explore….Local sops and restaurants are wonderful…We shall always have this part of the world in our hearts and souls! Great Balcony Views
Our stay was very pleasant. The apartment is centrally located in VilleFrance. Couldn't ask for better location. The sofas could do with upgrading but otherwise the furniture suits the style of the apartment.
Marie Joelle was very pleasant and helpful to deal with.

Couldn't choose a better place!
All aspects of our stay were fantastic! We were met by the owner who helped us park and was patient while we unloaded our baggage. The apartment is very charming, had everything we needed, and the view is amazing. You are right in the middle of shops and restaurants, yet are in the midst of a quiet residential area. The grocery is right around the corner and has everything one needs. The apartment is well stocked in the kitchen and the bathroom is comfortable. We made great use of the outdoor patio which is very romantic for two people. The lights of the boats add to the charm. Overall, I highly recommend this apartment and would not hesitate to return.

The apartment is in a terrific location in the heart of the old town. We loved the terrace with the great views of the water. Excellent restaurants within walking distance. It’s a comfortable apartment with everything we needed; but not a location for anyone with mobility issues due to multiple stairs leading to and steep stairs leading into the apartment. Free parking is available, but luggage must be carried some distance to the apartment.

Home from home, lovely view, great location
We had a wonderful stay in this quintessentially French apartment with its spectacular view of the harbour. The balcony with table and chairs is a particularly attractive feature and we enjoyed sitting outside during the cooler parts of the day watching the boats bob about on the ocean.
The apartment is ideally situated for access to the town and beach via narrow stepped pathways. Steps or no steps, we were delighted to be in an elevated position, the better to enjoy the cooling sea breeze floating into the apartment on hot afternoons, assisted by an effective ceiling fan in the living room.
The apartment is well-equipped and comfortable; there is a spacious and high-pressure shower, and the kitchen provides a good-sized fridge, electric hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine. There is less storage room in the second bedroom but plenty of cupboard and drawer space in the double bedroom so we had no difficulty.
We had a wonderful break in this lovely little apartment in Villefranche – thank you, Marie-Joelle, for making us feel so welcome!

Simply incredible!
We had an amazing stay at this perfectly appointed apartment. No detail was overlooked. Marie was kind enough to meet us at the train station and walk us to the apartment which is no more than 5 minutes. She showed us around the beautiful apartment and even had a bottle of rose, orangina for the kids and olives. Such a nice surprise after a long travel day. This apartment has everything you could possibly need - comfortable beds, plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen, great water pressure in the shower - and a balcony with amazing views. The town of Villefranche is beautiful and quaint with amazing restaurants, shops and a great beach. We were very sad to leave and hope to be back in the future!

Absolutely Wonderful
I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. We were met by Marie Joelle who helped us with our luggage. She had a chilled bottle of Rosé, water and olives in the refrigerator awaiting us. What a great way to start our vacation while sitting and enjoying the great view from our deck. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you could possibly wish for and more. Coffee pods for the espresso machine and a fully stocked kitchen made us really feel at home. Truly the next thing is to figure out when to return to this wonderful bit of heaven in Villefranche. Thank you Marie Joelle for a great stay. 😀�

Marie’s place is amazing. Beautiful views, comfortable and exactly as the pictures show. Marie met us, ensuring we got to the apartment and was very helpful. Be aware that there are many steps in Villefranche Sur Mer and to the apt as well. Good exercise. Many good restaurants and close to the train station. Overall wonderful

Charming flat in the old town
We actually stayed at this flat 16 years ago!
This flat is in the centre of the Villefranche old town; just down the street to the right, there are lots of restaurants and a supermarket, so it's quite convenient.
We have stayed in other flats in Villefranche last 16 years, but we always liked this place the best because the view from the balcony is just beautiful. Many of the flats in the old town are quite sombre because of the way they are constructed. I just feel it's a bit of a waste that I can't take advantage of the fresh sea breeze once I get inside...but this place, it's fine. I can enjoy the most beautiful view from the balcony and can just sit and enjoy a glass of Rosé wine and a bowl of olives without going out and sit in a cafe or restaurant. This was the HUGE advantage of this flat.
The owner Marie-Joelle is a very nice lady. She's very kind and the flat was equipped with everything. I definitely recommend this place!

A bit of heaven by the sea
A wonderful warm and cozy flat, lovingly decorated by an artist, and ideally located on the quiet pedestrian paths in Villefranche's old town! Delicious restaurants, a casino supermarket, boulangerie, butcher, vegetable stand, et. al., are only steps away, and the sea (and train) a two to five minute walk.
You will not find a more gracious hostess than Marie! She took time out of her day to walk us through the area and guide me to parking. A car is definitely optional, given the proximity to public transport.
