Close to the central market which make it a little noise.

Hot water in the shower. Very economical. Staff are very helpful. Good selection of furniture in the room with plenty of space and natural light from the large windows. Close to cheap places to eat.

Mattress was very hard and not so comfortable. Colours in the room are garish and painting quality is poor. Located on a noisy, busy street without proper asphalt on the road, but we had a room on the 5th floor so the noise didn't bother us too much.

I made a last minute reservation here, and they were so accommodating! The rooms were comfortable and colorful, and the hosts were extremely helpful in giving me advice for getting to tourist locations. Thanks for the hospitality!

The host Lenin was very friendly, and we got a late check-out for free, and could have a shower before going with the night bus to Lima. The room was spacious, with a seating area with a table and 2 chairs. Bed was comfortable too :) And the mercado is close, which is very nice for buying food and other things.

The location is a little bit dodgy in the night, but during the day everything was fine.

I will keep returning to Sombrero de Paja on future visits to Chiclayo. Zenon, Lenin, and Merli were awesome in helping me. Zenon especially appreciates when you are like a cat that can't decide to go in or out. Services are densely packed in this part of town, kind of like Chinatown in Manhattan. Nearby is Mercado Modelo which overflows with culture.

Very familial place, quite and not expensive.

The owner was a bit distrustful about the number of guests we were ( cause we looked a bit alike...) But finally ok. No common room.

The Hoatel is in the dirtyes street of the whole city i think. If you open tje window for some fresh air it comes a smell frol tje street hows horrible...:/

I stayed 5 days. The room was fine: a comfortable bed, a good hot shower, a fan and was cleaned daily. The family who runs the hotel was very friendly and helpful (provide me with a map). In the neigborhood are a lot of restaurants. Is is a 10-15 minutes walk to the cente, but it's OK. All in all a very pleasant stay.

The hostal is always closed. You have to ring a bell to get in. Somestimes it took a while.
