We are a family of 8 spanning 3 generations, travelling from Canada for my wife’s 40th birthday. We absolutely adored this home! It was perfect for all of us to have common spaces and private space. The kitchen was well equipped, the pool was great and all the extra space was well used. We loved the view and the deck the most. The hosts were great! They communicated well and helped with some transport issues we had.

The property was unfortunately not cleaned on our arrival and we couldn't use the property for a few hours. The company provided a bottle of bubbles as compensation. The pool is big enough to cool down on hot days. We stayed for one week and the water became very dirty/ concerning colour by the end of our stay. Not sure if someone came inbetween to check the water quality? The light in the shower and main bedroom downstairs didn't work and the power switch for the kitchen upstairs came off a few times. These little hiccups didn't bother us very much. Overall I really can recommend the property for a holiday in Airlie Beach. We all have had an amazing time.

Overall, we were very happy with the stay. Only blemish was the treatment we received from the management agency. I suggest the 'vetting' process should be completed on the initial booking, not the day before you arrive and full payment taken. If able, I would have cancelled the booking and went elsewhere - based purely on that experience. I found the 'dressing down' received before arriving, quite unprofessional e.g. informing me that if I met a 'nice lady' down the street I was not allowed to bring her back to the house....... Being a middle aged and happily married, was a little taken aback - but thanked her for the clarification and made a mental note to steer away from 'nice lady's'...Check other reviews..... The location of the accommodation was also handy in terms of walk into town, to the boardwalk, cafes and Lagoon pools. Well equipped kitchen, more than you would ever need. The fan in the lower floor bedroom is a hazard. The fan was turned on once and was affixed so close to the wall it started to wobble and the blades hit the wall and we thought it was going to fall from the roof! The grouting in the small toilet upstairs is missing in some tiles and the shower upstairs is a little grubby and needs a good clean. Other than that, all good.

The house was easy to find and was in an excellent location. The view was stunning and overlooked the harbour. Only a short distance to everything, however, being on a steep hill it is advisable to have a car, but not necessary. Would be perfect for a couple of families to share, with two separate living areas upstairs and downstairs. Rental company won't contact you until the day before, so don't panic it you don't hear from them.

There were far too many defects to mention but here is the general gist :- Downstairs full of dust (toilet roll covered in thick dust on top)- Outside near pool was covered in leaves which have accumulated over some time. - Pool ladder very wobbly & felt unsafe- Oven trays all greasy- Couldn’t utilise bbq as it was filthy- Mold in showers- Filthy venetian blinds- Window sills were disgustingly grimy, full of old insects & built up dirt. - Outdoor furniture cushions were filthy- Pool hadn’t been cleaned /vacuumed. Lots of debris at bottom of pool in corners. We ended up paying $25 each to swim in the Coral Bay Resort pool instead. - Lawn was overgrown - We had to wipe down all kitchen cupboards prior to first use as handles were dirty & greasy- Bathroom fittings ie toilet rolls were loose - Even though we didn’t need it, we folded & stored someone’s porta cot that was left all strewn in garage so we could park our car.- Exhaust fans & ceiling fans had clumps of dust hanging from them.If we were paying minimal rate would expect this level of accommodation but at the rate we were charged the house should have been spotless without us having to make it liveable first. Essentially we paid for the view & location only!Hope for other guests’ benefit these defects are rectified.
