The view was absolutely breath taking! The location was great! The only bad things were glass door was very hard to open and carpet definitely needs to be cleaned.

Process was very smooth. Everything worked and was exactly as pictured .

Our Christmas week get-together of three siblings, spouses and adult offspring gathered from five corners of the country for a perfect reunion. The house is beautiful, comfortable, had plenty of room for all 10 of us without getting into each other's hair. It provided everything needed for a care-free vacation. The kitchen is quite well-equipped. It was a short bike ride (plenty of bikes are in the basement) to the beach or a walk of less than 15 minutes so we could zip over and watch the sun rise, morning after morning. There are kayaks available and enough loops in the waterways to do multiple paddling excursions through the neighborhood without backtracking or repeating, to keep things interesting. Unfortunately, the heater for the pool decided to die when we arrived, but the owner, Dr. Steve, went above and beyond to get it repaired (that didn't work) and then replaced, so we did get a glorious December dip in the heated pool and spa, both at night gazing on the star-filled sky, and again during the day, watching the pelicans, herons, and all sorts of other birds. Great architecture in the neighborhood, lovely environs with Spanish moss dangling from the trees, and plenty to do on Hilton Head and in general area, plus Savannah is an easy hour-long ride away.

Loved the stay, house was great and we all had room. Lots to do with the kayaks and bicycles. They enjoyed the lagoon for fishing snd not too far to the beach. Dr. Steve is an excellent host. I’d stay there again!

Property is spectacular and working with Doc Steve was even better! Highly recommend for a large group looking for all the comforts of home, with a great pool to jump in after a day at the bwach, and inside the gates of Palmetto Dunes!

The property was awesome! The owner Dr Steve was great to work with. The pool was fabulous. We used the bikes multiple times per day, lots of fun with the kayaks in the lagoon, and when not at the beach the kids were in the pool. We prepared most of our meals at home and the kitchen had everything we needed. This last week was one of our best vacations ever !! We will definitely return.

The property was all and more than we expected. It was fabulous. The owner Dr Steve was great to work with. He made sure everything was perfect! The home was beautiful and clean. Very well kept. The pool was fabulous. We felt like family the entire week. We could social distance at the beach and I felt very comfortable and safe all week ! We would stay here again and again! It was one of the best vacations ever !!

Wow, Amazing, Beautiful are the three words I would use to describe this property. It had everything my family of nine needed and more. We used the bikes multiple times per day, fished off the deck, and when not at the beach the kids were in the pool. just returned from at Doc Steve's amazing house. I always thought being closer to the water was the way to go but I no longer think that. We had 10 people in the house and there was plenty of room for all. The pool is the biggest I have seen in any rental and the view can not be beat. The house has everything you need right down to the bikes, beach chairs and umbrellas, but the best thing might be dealing with the owners, I have rented this property and their condo four times and you can not deal with any better people!! Eight of us just returned from a week at this property. My husband and I, four 20 somethings, a 9 year old, and my mother, 72. The property was great for all ages. Love the swing you see in pictures, and the pool is the finest set up at any home we have stayed at over the years in Hilton head. The lagoon view, and the fact that the pool is not surrounded by trees made it so great. Also, Doc has bikes at the house that he allows renters to use, saved us a bundle in not renting bikes for everyone. I think the best thing about this property, is the owner, such a great guy to rent from, he wants to make sure everything is just right for your stay. Thanks Doc for a great family vacation.

My family just vacationed here and it was a wonderful and relaxing time. The pictures shown are very accurate. We loved the quiet area, the beautiful lagoon view and pool, and the short distance to the beach. We also enjoyed biking around the neighborhood with the bikes provided. Highly recommend.

My family recently completed a great vacation at this beautiful house on the lagoon. It was everything we could hope for and then some. I have 5 grandchildren from 6 months to 10 years old and there was plenty to do for each of them. The pool was used every day and the ocean beach was only a few minutes away. The accommodations were excellent and there was plenty of room for everyone. I would certainly recommend this home as a vacation choice for any family of up to 15 people. My next vacation to Hilton Head will be here for sure.

Where to begin telling others about our amazing vacation? For several years now our family has vacationed along the Emerald Coast in Florida, deciding to change things up we settled on Palmetto Dunes. Lucky for us Doc Steve's place was available. What a perfect home for us to enjoy. Usually rental homes don't have enough sitting at the table, patio/deck, porch, or just relaxing in front of the tv, not the case. Lots of seating everywhere! The pictures don't do it justice, especially the pool It was maintained and kept clean all week. We enjoyed the 3 kayaks almost every morning and there was plenty of life jackets. The bikes were all in good running order and the bike trailer was enjoyed by the little ones, saved us a bundle. There was always someone biking to the gorgeous beach or riding down to the general store on the nice wide bike paths. The kitchen was better equipped than my own. We ate all but one meal at home and there was never anything we needed. (you have to try The Boathouse Restaurant one night, great good and so family friendly). Doc Steve was always quickly available if we needed a question answered. He was very concerned the house was in good order and we weren't disappointed. Unfortunately I don't know Doc Steve but now do consider him a friend. I'm so glad we vacationed in Hilton Head, but more importantly I'm glad we stayed at 23 Starboard Tack. Don't hesitate booking this beautiful property. Thanks so much Doc Steve we had a great time!!! p.s. on a personal note...Baby Vivian is now weighing 3lbs 13ozs

My family and I stayed at Dr Steve and Michelle's home from July 12-19. We had 11 of us that stayed very comfortably. The home is outstanding in every way that you could possibly imagine (The pictures are beautiful, but the house is even more beautiful when you see it). Morning breakfast overlooking the lagoon with a multitude of beautiful birds added a perfect start to each day. Dr. Steve had gone overboard to make sure that everything in the home is top shelf. This is by far the best vacation home that I've ever had the pleasure of renting. Thank you Dr. Steve and Michelle for providing my family with such a beautiful home, and for staying in touch throughout our vacation to check in on us. We had an amazing vacation.

My family has vacationed at Hilton for 3 years in a row but this was our first time staying at Doc Steve's house. Just let me say that we will not be staying anywhere else when visiting Hilton Head. We have actually already booked our vacation here for next year. Everything needed for a perfect vacation was included at this house. Doc Steve called/texted several times through the week just to make sure that everything was going well. The house is beautiful and our family truly enjoyed all aspects. We fished from the dock, swam, sat in the hottub and enjoyed all of the wildlife including a heron and alligator. The screened in porch was perfect for games in the evening and there was plenty of room for us to enjoy each others company but also have some quiet time when needed. Doc Steve and his family has went out of their way to make sure that the house is very warm and welcoming. We will be staying here for years to come. Thank you again Doc Steve and family for sharing your house with us !!!!!

Hilton Head is my family's favorite vacation spot. Now we have a favorite vacation house. We have been to HH 7 times now and don't plan on staying anywhere else. The provided bikes and kayaks saved us $$ because we always rent them. The pool and hot tub were great. Doc Steve made everything so easy it was amazing. Best vacation ever. Thanks Michelle and Steve for sharing your "little resort" with us.

We try to visit HHI yearly, but had never before stayed in Palmetto Dunes. We cannot wait to return! One week is not long enough to enjoy everything. Doc Steve's house was the perfect fit for our family this trip. The house has such a totally amazing view of the Lagoon which was so beautiful to see especially in the morning. There were so many things to do while just staying at the house-swimming, soaking in the hot tub, fishing, kayaking, bike riding, grilling out and enjoying meals together, etc. and the beach was just a quick bike ride away. The house and property is clean, well maintained and had everything we needed to be comfortable. We appreciated having the child's high chair, safety gate, crib and kiddie bike cart available to use for the grandchildren. Doc Steve is the greatest! I hope to return very soon for I truly loved staying here!

We had a wonderful experience with our family at Dr. Steve's. The location, setting and amenities were top notch A great experience and a great time. We have vacationed at Hilton Head several times in the past and this was our best experience yet.

Thank you Dr. Steve and Michelle for allowing the opportunity for our family to spend Christmas and New Years together in your beautiful and spacious home. Every need was met and it allowed us to spend "quality" family time together. From the large living/family room, dream kitchen, eating areas and large bedrooms, we were able to also find some quiet time if needed. The ample sized driveway even allowed our family to have a game of road hockey! I know that there will be many lasting memories by our entire family and we thank you again for accommodating ALL of our needs. We do hope that we will be back to your beautiful home again! What a week we just had. The house is fully equipped with a pool, jacuzzi, 3 kayaks, bikes (including a child carrier), and a grill to name a few of the amenities. Palmetto Dunes has stunning beaches and lagoons (and golf), with bike trails throughout the community. Overall, there is a great feel to the community. Also, the owner, Doc Steve, was helpful in every way. For example, my GPS led me to the wrong development so I called Steve. He picked up on the first ring and was able to guide me to the house. If you are planning a trip to HH, this is a great value, and can easily accommodate two families. Highly recommended, and we will likely be back soon!

If you are looking for a peaceful vacation you must rent this house. I have older kids and they never once seemed bored, and their use of their electronics was minimal. The lagoon was unbelievably entertaining. They fished, kayaked, spotted gators, crabs and made friends with the resident Heron. The pool is very large, the deck is beautiful and the view is unbelievable. The jumping fish were highly entertaining. The house is extremely clean and vey large. Kitchen well stocked and great if you are cooking at the house. The beach is a bike ride away but an easy ride. It took about 4minutes We were lucky enough to see a loggerhead laying eggs. Dr Steve is very generous with all he has in the house. He shares his bikes, his kayaks, towels, beach tent, pool toys.....etc. And is very easy to get in contact with if you have any questions or concern. A great vacation, with great memories made. Just wanted to say Thank you to Dr. Steve and Michelle for opening up there beautiful home to our family! We arrived on Saturday with 8 adults, 2 teenagers, 1 toddler and two babies and everything was ready for us to start our vacation. Dr. Steve and/or Michelle called everyday making sure everything was ok and they even gave us some great places to take the kids and to eat! There is so much right at the house we didn't ever have to leave if we didn't want to and with 3 babies it was exactly what we needed. The beach was about 1/2 mile walk away and we usually had someone take us all down in car loads and then come back with a bike! The washer and dryer, two coffee pots and everything you could possibly need in the kitchen was all included. The Bedrooms were emaculate and just right for all of our families! The beach toys, fishing poles, grill, bikes and swing were used daily! The boys loved fishing! One evening they even caught the attention of an alligator which was so much fun for them all! :) We can't forget the most beautiful view right from the deck, especially in the morning! I can not say enough about this beautiful home and how great the Sgambati's were to us and we can not wait to make many memories here for years to come! We are so excited for our arrival next Summer!
