We had a great time. Location was quiet and peaceful and the home was charming. Had everything we needed for a great family getaway.

This house was perfect for us. We love Westbrook and have come to know the area well over the years due to friends of ours having family houses in the area. This property was centrally located to our favorite stops such as Atlantic Seafood, Johnny Ads, not to mention a quick grocery run to the Big Y. At the house itself, it is a quick walk to the private beach, with a bonus open backyard that is part of a shared space where you can play catch and other games with the kids. The house also comes with more than you’ll need to play at the beach including chairs and toys and floaties, plus yard fun including cornhole and croquet. We did have one question once arriving and we simply messaged Fern on the VRBO app, to which she replied and helped us in a matter of minutes. This was just what we needed!

We recently stayed at this wonderful beach house. The house was clean and comfortable with updated bathrooms. The unexpected part was the setting. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with open backyards and a private walk to the beach area. We spent a lot of time enjoying the beach with the grandkids collecting treasures or playing and enjoying the backyard. We will gladly rent this house in the future.

Very nice and quiet neighborhood. Lots of history and places to be explored. Beautiful, well kept, very clean, cozy and equipped home. We loved the place and hope to come back soon with the rest of the family specially during summer.

Super-clean and comfortable home in a very friendly and peaceful neighborhood. We had a very relaxing vacation.

Property was just as expected. Very clean and well stocked with everything we needed to cook and go to the beach. It included beach towels, beach chairs, and umbrella. Very quite neighborhood. All homes well kept with lots of pretty flowers.

We loved staying here as it was close to our venue and the beach. Nice and big and great porch. I enjoyed it.

This was a great home by the water. Kitchen was fully stocked, a plethora of bed linens, towels, hand towels, and so much more. Checkin was easy as was checkout. Everything was as described. Lots of games! A short walk down to the beach was so nice. The house is in a very quiet and relaxing area. Would absolutely recommend!

We were a family of 6 and throughly enjoyed staying in the house over the thanksgiving break. We had all the things we needed to have a great thanksgiving. We had no complaints but the host did charge us for damages that we didn’t have anything to do with. It is an older home and we didn’t want to be nit picky about cracked/ broken furniture.

This was the perfect home for the Groom and his closet friends to be together before the wedding. Comfortable relaxing and a short walk to the ocean. Beautiful area for photos. Many thanks to Fern for being so attentive and flexible.

Clean and roomy cottage close to beach. Appreciated the central AC as our 2 week stay was hot and humid. Fern is a gracious and conscientious host who made sure everything was in order as promised. Great neighborhood close to many fine restaurants and other activities. Would have liked more of a sandy beach rather than rocky but otherwise a perfect stay.

This was the perfect place to stay over the long Columbus Day weekend. From check-in to check-out, everything was wonderful. I actually think that it was better than what the photos portray. The kitchen was generously stocked with spices, condiments, and all of the cooking equipment any foodie would need. The house is located in a quiet and well maintained neighborhood just a block from the beach. Old Saybrook is just down the main street to the east. We felt right at home and will definitely consider this Westbrook house when we visit southeastern Connecticut again. Thanks Fern!

It was very easy to book, checkin was not complicated. Only minor complaint was I seemed to have a very strong allergic reaction to something in the house, similar to my reaction to cat dander. Not sure if property ever has cats inside?? Very strange but nothing a little allergy medicine didnt clear up. Overall I'd definitely stay there again. Very close to beach and it was lovely to be able to walk there !

Needed a place to stay for a family reunion and this house was great. Lots of room and a great location. House had everything you could possibly need. Tons of baby stuff which is a huge help when traveling with a baby so I didn’t have to bring all that extra stuff. Owner was exciting deal with and would response right away. This is a charming home in an excellent location. My friends and I found the home to be exactly as described and couldn't have been happier with our choice for a quick weekend getaway. I will absolutely return to this house if I ever find myself in the area again.

This was the perfect location for our family to connect between Philly and Boston. The location is less than a 5 minute walk to a small, lovely beach on coastal CT. The house is comfortable with all the necessary amenities and a real sense of being at home. The neighborhood is very quiet with lovely neighbors, a large yard, and a gentle ocean breeze. It is a 25 minute drive to Mystic Seaport and one of our favorite spots was Gillette Castle. Although we didn't meet the owner, she was very responsive to my questions. I would definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our recent long weekend stay at the beach house. The location was perfect for us: near the water and convenient to shops and the interstate. The house provided plenty of room for our party of 6 adults and 2 children. Everything was well stocked from kitchen supplies to linens and paper goods. Fern was very easy to work with and answered any questions I had promptly. I would not hesitate to recommend this home to anyone.

We had a fabulous week at the Daly Beach House! Enjoyed the beach house, blueberries, beach and large yard!

My mother and I rented this house last week and we couldn't have asked for anything better. Everything that you need is there and the owner was very kind and responsive. The property and surrounding area is beautiful! We will definitely be going back.

We stayed in this house with 6 adults, 2 kids, and a baby. It was very clean and was the perfect amount of space for our group. The kitchen was a really nice size (didn't feel cramped with the number of people we had), and it was well-stocked. The living room has new furniture, and the sun room was a bonus that we enjoyed a lot. The only minor inconvenience was that there was only one indoor shower (the first floor bathroom had a claw foot tub). There is an outdoor shower, but since it was a little breezy and cool in the evenings, no one in our party was interested in using it. We made it work though, no big deal. The location of the house is great. A two-minute walk down a nice path to the water. You can see the water from the yard, which is very beautiful. The beach is very rocky, so not ideal for kids to run and play, but we had access to the larger Town beaches, so it was not a problem for us. It made for beautiful scenery while we were at the house. It is about 5-10 minutes (or less) from many restaurants, stores, and Old Saybrook. The owners were very responsive and staying at the Vintage Beach House was a great experience!

Gathering family from various parts of the country is never simple, but Fern's house proved to be a wonderful place where we could gather folks for casual coffee mornings, evening games and walks down to the beach - all in Dec! Having 4 bedrooms, 2 with Queen beds, one double, and bunkbeds allowed for adults, and adult children to have suitable space for sleeping in comfort. With both a smaller kitchen table and larger dining table in separate areas we even managed to accommodate 16 for drop in visiting. The kitchen was well-equipped for larger groups and my West Coast family was charmed by the clever closets built into the knotty pine walls. The sun porch and the central grassy area leading through the community to the beach appears to be a prime area for summer and warmer weather fun and easy to set up a croquet game or other family fun. Another tidbit - while this is not a house for a handicapped person, my mother who uses a walker was able with help to climb the few steps and enjoy some family time there as well. With only 2 small bathrooms we had to coordinate the timing of 6 showers on a few occasions but were able to manage satisfactorily. The thick binder of information was helpful in some of our decision making. Some locally published historical accounts of the area and the families originally developing this small planned community proved fascinating and added to our appreciation. As we spent most of our time with family in the Chester area we didn't have much time for exploring Westbrook and Old Saybrook but both looked like charming towns. I highly recommend this house and hope to visit in summer some time. Thanks Fern for your advance information as well.
