This was the perfect house for our family reunion. There was plenty of space and lots to do for our three generations. We loved the pool and hot tub—and what a nice touch that the host made pool toys, board games, and bicycles available to us. The house is gorgeous, clean, and well stocked. Everything exceeded our expectations.

This house has everything you need. Fully stocked kitchen and lots of items for fun (bikes, beach equipment and toys for the pool.) The heated pool was a plus. Our family had a great time and felt very comfortable. We hope to visit this property again maybe in the summertime.

What a delightful home to stay in. Plenty of room to spread out, yet have fun together. Gorgeous views and nice walking area. Pool and hot tub added to the fun. Close to restaurants and stores.

This has been by far the most smoothest VRBO we have been in. Also this property is perfect in every way. The house was clean and very functional. The kids had an amazing time in the heated pool. Laurie the host met us there, showed us the ropes and was very pleasant. We will definitely be reaching out to continue our Thanksgiving Vacation with Mermaid By The Sea.

I can’t say enough good things about this property and Laurie.
We had a group of 12, from 2 to 75 years old. There was enough space for everyone to be together and be apart - which was really important.
House had everything you could possibly need. Plan to stay here next year!

The house was beautiful. There were 12 of us and accommodations were perfect. Plenty of linens, kitchen was fully equipped, outside space was amazing for relaxing, playing games and watching sunsets. Laurie met us at the property and provided information about the house. A/C worked great! Perfect family vacation.

Our family of 6 adults and 4 young children really enjoyed our get together at the mermaid house. The home is spacious and well maintained and the kitchen is stocked with everything you could ask for. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for everyone. It is in a lovely part of Oceanside with a quick drive to the sandy beach at the pier. We all enjoyed the pool and our 4 year old granddaughter actually learned to swim there. Laurie was great to work with and answered all inquiries promptly. We made lots of memories and are grateful for our time at the mermaid house.

This beautiful house fits our growing family perfectly. We have younger children, teens & adults and the set up couldn’t be better. It’s stocked with anything you need from spices to sunscreen. We enjoyed sea world, went to the beach every day and enjoyed the incredible pool and hot tub right outside our door. This is our third visit and it won’t be our last!

Stunning property with everything a large group could need. Grass area for games, pool/spa area with outdoor kitchen, large patio, upstairs deck………..and immaculate interior fully stocked. We never wanted to leave.

This beautiful property is even better in person than it looks in the photos. Sparkling clean, with tons of gorgeous natural light, ocean views, multiple outdoor and indoor sitting areas, comfy and quiet bedrooms, and a stunning kitchen that has everything you could ever need. Our group of 7 adults was comfortable and never crowded. The pool and jacuzzi are divine. You are one block from the ocean, and conveniently located near great restaurants.
Laurie was lovely and completely responsive to all our questions and requests. We feel really lucky to have found this beautiful home, and we hope to return!

This place is specifically curated for comfort and fun. We were there to celebrate our grandmother who once lived in Oceanside and this place let us enjoy the area and each other perfectly. Lots of games, activities, space, hangout areas (inside and out). Awesome views from the many decks and patios. And the hostess was extremely receptive and helpful. You can't help but love this place!

We had a great time at this property. There was plenty of space for the kids to run around and the house had everything we needed. The only thing I would change is the bunk beds for kiddos are in a separate house (they ended up sleeping in the larger beds with us). We weren't comfortable with them being that far away from us, but if you had teens it would be fine.

We loved staying at this property! From the host’s friendly greeting when we arrived, to the well thought out and extensive dinnerware, to the exquisitely detailed Christmas decorations in every room, to the perfectly laid out and expansive floor plan, we couldn’t have been happier! The house is absolutely gorgeous, fully stocked with everything you can possibly need. Plenty of space for 8 adults and 4 kiddos! We loved the pool toys, beach toys, bikes, yard games, etc. Laurie was an absolute gem to work with from the moment we booked, until the moment we left. She even left us a bottle of champagne to honor our newlyweds AND a birthday present for our grandson who turned 3 while we were in town. LOVED those special touches. We will definitely be back. Where do I start? From the minute I inquired about the property, Laurie, the host, was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful in every way. When we got there, she met me and showed me around the great spaces in the house and even had snacks there for us. The home is well stocked with everything for cooking in or door dash is a quick delivery option. The house itself is GORGEOUS, in a fantastic location with the sound of ocean waves crashing right outside, clean, super comfortable all while being luxurious! Our group loved the garage full of bikes, pool floats and ocean toys. There wasn't one thing we felt wasn't well thought out and provided at the house. Thank you again, Laurie and Tom, for letting us celebrate our new RECON Marine in your amazing home. You helped make our time together that much more special, because we felt so comfortable and pampered. Walked to town, beach, hung out in pool and truly enjoyed the roof top deck watching the waves. Everything and more. Wished we had brought our kids as your bedrooms went on for days! The home is great and Laurie is an excellent host! The pool and hot tub were so fun. I loved having all the spaces for family members. My older sister and her family stayed in the cabana and my younger sister stayed in the bunk house. The home was big enough for us to all come together during the day and stay separate at night which is so nice with 2 young toddlers. The home is loaded with beach toys available for use. We only planned on 1 beach day and ended up doing 3. It was so easy to load up and go. Thanks Laurie, we had a great time!

This property is beautiful and the home is lovely and well appointed. We had a wonderful week enjoying the pool, barbequing every evening, biking and enjoying the beaches! We highly recommend this property...it has everything to enjoy a wonderful vacation.

We are a group of 10, six adults four children ranging in age from the 70s to 8. This property is perfect for everyone, lots and lots of room, gorgeous pool, amazing amenities. Our joke was there was nothing that was not in this house… Sunscreen, amazing kitchen with every possible kitchen device, great sleeping spaces with lots of balconies. You can watch the sunset from the balcony, you can surf in some of the best waves in Southern California, just a short drive away. Cannot recommend this property highly enough! The owner is also very close by, extraordinarily responsive and very nice. She knows a lot about the area, and was always there if we had questions about the house or property.

This is a beautiful home with wonderful amenities: pool, hot tub, wonderful kitchen with everything you could want. The lawn on the side of the house was great for playing games and the kids loved the bikes and boogie boards.. Laurie and Tom were great hosts and very accommodating.

Living the dream!!
We had a wonderful time at the Mermaid; we rarely left. We so enjoyed all the living spaces, the pool and hot tub, the yard, puzzle time; just so much fun. We built so many memories. The owners were very gracious and helpful throughout our booking process. Would definitely book again!!

A Fantastic Family Reunion
The Main House is outstanding with views of the ocean and sunset from the top floor and a large master suite and two Jack n Jill bedrooms. On the main floor is a additional bedroom, very large stocked kitchen, pantry,dining room,and two large sitting rooms with fireplace and bathroom and laundry room. All of these rooms are very open and have access to the pool and the side yard for outdoor events. The pool house is a like a small apartment in which my son and family stayed with their dog. The garage and attached bunkhouse was equipped with every possibile thing you could think of while at the beach. Laurie was the most wonderful and helpful person during the last year and half of planning this reunion and God willing I will be back in the future.

Memorial Day 2022
Lovely home with plenty of space for our group of 11 to hang out and relax. We had 5 kids, ranging from 6 to 16, and there was something for everyone. Laurie and her husband were welcoming and responsive to questions during our stay. Would welcome the opportunity to stay there again in the future!
