Four of us came to La Paz for a fishing trip. This house was perfect for us. Comfortable and conveniently located, close to the malacon, the cathedral, food and taxi stand. We would definitely stay here again.

What a great house and perfect location. Fit the 6 of us just right. My Mom and her husaband ,our 20 and 17 year old kids and myself and My husband. Kids shared room with two double beds. Each room had its own bathroom and a great living area and kitchen. The pool and outdoor area were great for relaxing. The house is right in the middle of everything and is a little noisy in the front rooms only the but we did't mind at all. Made it so nice to step out and just walk everywhere we wanted to exlpore. We had two rental cars and the house has two spots right out front. Cant wait to visit again.

This home is beautiful and met all of our needs for the 5 of us.

This is truly a beautiful property which is probably why it is booked out a year in advance for key months. If you go to La Paz, you should stay here. I stay in La Paz many times and always stay in nice places and this is my favorite!

4 friends and I came to La Paz and based off previous reviews we were pretty excited to check this place out. It did not disappoint. The house is thoughtfully decorated with birds throughout, whether mobiles or painted on the walls. The kitchen had everything we needed to make breakfast and coffee and drinks. The beds were very comfortable, every room had a fan. The pool is bigger than it looks in the photos as is the courtyard. The courtyard is so cozy, we spent our last night hanging out in the backyard there. We heated up the pool at night and it was a warm tub in the morning! Everything was wonderful. Check in and out was easy. And the location is absolutely perfect. Close to some great bars and restaurants, we went down the street two blocks for breakfast and dinner and across the street to the Coyota and Mezcaleria for drinks other nights. Simply perfect! We can't wait to come back.

Booked a ten night stay here from the 14th -24th of November 2022. First issue two bars across the street stay open Friday through Saturday nights very late we found it impossible to sleep. On two different days we found cockroaches inside the kitchen and patio. The dryer door would not open, talked to Ana the onsite manager she did not fix the issue. The Wi Fi was very poor even if only one person was on a device, dropping all the time.We were only a couple trying to do some work. Gas run out to heat the pool water, All these issues were not fixed. I was told we would receive only a ten percent discount. The manager Ana and owner said the re-fund was sent to VRBO for them to re-fund me, this went on for weeks no re- fund this was even after me sending my bank statement to show nothing had been re-funded.

Wish we could have stayed longer
This is a lovely home, exquisitely furnished, in a great location that enables walking to most areas of interest. The street outside just completed a significant upgrade in March by the city so it is very attractive (and the construction work has ended). The block is a mixed use block with retail, homes and one bar. The kitchen had everything needed with a nice island and the knives were sharp. The back patio area was very inviting and relaxing with a heated pool. The living and dining areas were spacious and well arranged. The bedrooms and baths were furnished with high quality bedding and towels. The trade off for a central location is of course some typical inner city noise. Two of the bedrooms front on the street and one is located away from the street and is quieter. Those who like to go to bed early and who are not accustomed to or are sensitive to inner city noise may want to brings some ear plugs for sleeping. All in all a very enjoyable stay although it was cut short due to the border closing. Management was very helpful in addressing the issues associated with our early departure. Highly recommend this professionally run house whose management goes above and beyond expectations.

Great stay in best neighborhood
We had a fantastic time in La Paz and found that the house was perfectly located. You are literally surrounded by the best coffee shops, fresh organic juice bar, restaurants, Mezcal bar and the water all within a block. The house has everything you need and more to have an enjoyable stay and was perfectly clean. Designated parking spots were occupied by construction workers at the time of our stay but there was plenty of parking on the street so it was no inconvenience. There is a fantastic bar across the street which created atmospheric noise into the wee hours and some local animals but nothing you wouldn’t expect given the central urban location. Thanks for the stay, we would not hesitate to return!

Worked well for us
Our family of 3 adults/2 teens enjoyed our time at Casa Abuelita. The communication before arrival was spot on. The house was as described. The proximity to things we wanted to do was perfect. Fell in love with La Paz. Love that they appreciate and want to protect the environment. They even left us a baked Valentine's gift. We'll be back!

La Paz Adventure
This home is spectacular in every way. The pictures truly don't show how spacious the garden area is, the beauty of all of the special touches throughout the home, the luxuriousness of the three master bedrooms and ensuite bathrooms. There is even a bathroom off of the garden as well as a laundry room!
Our only bother (not complaint) is there was major construction going on in front of the house with the entire street being closed to traffic while the power lines were being re-routed underground. We were able to park about a block away - no worries but the power was out for three hours the first night we were there (blown transformer!) and then turned off intentionally the next morning at 8:00 am. Sadly we were showering and packing for our trip home so it made things more challenging as when the power was off, so was the water! Thankfully we all have a healthy sense of humor - and truly, still give this home 5 big gold stars as it is truly beautiful and we will definitely return... Great location, beautiful home, fabulous time!

Beautiful House, Fantastic Location - just be ready for some street noise
Casa Abuelita is a real gem in the heart of La Paz. We have traveled all over Mexico and have rented many house; this is a favorite. Absolutely perfect location, within a ~2 block walk to everything - restaurants, cafes, bars, bakeries, shops, etc. The beautiful seafront Malecon (maybe our favorite in all of Mexico) is just 1 block away. Bus station 2 blocks away to take you to be
The house felt like our own home for our stay. While an historic 100+ year-old traditional La Paz home, the property has been meticulously restored and brought up to modern standards, with comfy bedrooms (great beds!), spacious bathrooms (each of the 3 bedrooms has its own Ensuite bathroom, plus there is a 1/2 bath located off the backyard patio), and a large, modern kitchen with everything you need to cook a meal (Not that we did much cooking since there are so many great, affordable eateries close by). The bird theme is tastefully executed (hard to pull off but the designers are clearly pros)
There is a fantastic Mezquileria directly across the street, with a great selection of drinks, plus friendly & attentive staff. This place attracts an upscale, mostly local crowd and is great fun. Be aware, it's popular and though the crowd is upscale, they still like to party on the weekends, so expect some street noise on busy nights. This was most noticeable on Friday and Saturday nights when the whole town was out and about until closing time at around 2am. Aside from this night weekend noise and some general street noise from big trucks driving by occasionally, the place is very peaceful and relaxing. The world sort of melts away when you sit in the beautiful backyard/courtyard area, with its covered outdoor living room (very comfy), lounge chairs and small plunge pool (a little cold when we were there, but you can heat it if you want to).
Ana, the property manager, and Alma and her cleaning crew are amazing. Ana provided great local tips (food, tours, etc.) and was always available to answer questions.
All in all, we would come back to Casa Abuelita and would highly recommend this to visitors interested in an authentic Mexican experience in a very safe, very clean and well-managed historic Baja city. We would just recommend you bring some earplugs if you are sensitive to street noise and plan to stay in one of the front bedrooms, which are near the street though through thoughtful design, have their bathrooms as insulators between bedrooms and street.

Lovely!
Thank you for the accuracy of the listing. If anything it was better in person. I had been waiting anxiously for this vacation and Casa Abuelita was a big part of our relaxation.
I had read about the evening music and it's true. The rooms street side will hear the music from across the street. I was lucky to have the room off the patio and it was serene.

Home away from home.
Pictures of this house don't do it justice. From the outside, it looks unassuming. As soon as you enter the door, you realize this is a special house. Old world charm throughout while still very practical. The location is perfect, 1 block from the Malecon and near many good shops and restaurants.
The court yard is just stunning.. The pool sits in shade most of day so water is COLD, but heater can be used.
We plan on staying here next year.

Exceptionally Clean, Very Comfortable and Completely Charming
We LOVED Casa Abuelita!! The location was perfect. The house itself had a great layout and every amenity you could need or want (including air conditioning in each room). Everything was super clean. The beds and linen were all super comfortable. What made this home especially great, though, was the fun and tasteful charm and character of the architecture and decor. And to top it all off, the property manager, Ana Carolina, was amazing. She made sure we knew what we needed to about the home, made us feel especially welcomed when we arrived and offered some great recommendations for places to see and eat. La Paz was the highlight of our trip. We will definitely come back and we will absolutely stay here again when we do!

Just the greatest...
Casa Abuelita was perfect for us. We were two families looking for a long-ish term stay in a location that was central to all La Paz has to offer, as well as a place that was comfortable to relax. We couldn’t have asked for more. The layout (with the separate room/suite) at the back of the house and the central courtyard was just right. We could walk most anywhere we wanted and all amenities were close by.
The very best part was Ana, the property manager. She went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time there and was just such a delight, making us feel immediately welcome in her home city.

Great Experience in LaPaz
My family and I had a great stay at this beautiful property. Not only was it an adorably decorated space, but it was also comfortably set up with every amenity. We enjoyed lounging in the courtyard and cooling off in the pool.
But most of all we enjoyed the convenient location to the center of town and the promenade along the waterfront. We received personal attention from the property manager who helped us get set up. She had excellent restaurant and activity suggestions and she even made sure to get us a cooler for our beach picnic! We need a lot more time to do all the wonderful things in La Paz, so we'll be back and we hope to stay in this same great property again!

Beautiful home - great location
We came to La Paz for a family wedding. What a great time we had!! Casa Abuelita was our home while we were there for 10 days. The home was well equipped and met all of our needs. We especially like the court yard in the back of the house. We spent much time out there entertaining family and friends. When I travel I need a comfortable bed and a good shower. This home had both. The location of the home was excellent - close to grocery store, cathedral, Malecon and many neighborhood restaurants. The Bagel Shop was 2 doors down from the home and had excellent breakfasts and sandwiches. Anna was a gem. She gave us good information about the surrounding areas and was just a phone call away when we needed her. We hope to return to La Paz someday and will definitely choose Casa Abuelita again.

A great historical home in the heart of La Paz
This is a fantastic home designed for family fun! Our family enjoyed every bit this home has to offer. The central location to all the action on the waterfront and the proximity to many of the finest restaurants in La Paz, makes this home priceless for a worry free family getaway. Coffee/Bagel shop a few steps away, grocery store 1 block away, and the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings 1 block away were all very convenient as well. We'll be back again soon!!!

Amazing
This home was beyond perfection. Beautifully designed, incredibly inviting and by far the best home I have ever rented on either VRBO or Airbnb. The pool was lovely, the bedrooms were cosy yet big, the showers were stunning and the air conditioning worked like a charm. Our hosts provided us with everything we needed and were never more than a phone call away.
The location was perfect a mere two blocks from the ocean, with restaurants and an amazing coffee shop around the corner, we had everything we needed within walking distance. We even had our own enormous parking spot which was a relief because we were given a huge vehicle at our car rental place. There is no question that if we ever go back to La Paz, this is where we will stay. Just amazing!

Better than a hotel or modern condo!
Lovely but somewhat rustic spot. Felt private, safe and authentic. Great location, delightful garden and pool. Comfy beds, clean.
Had a couple of small issues; very noisy bar across street on Saturday night, the other three nights we were there were not an issue. And a couple little things which we reported upon our departure. The manager seems attentive and efficient. She helped us find the house by coming out to meet us at the supermarket. Very nice.
