Quaint, hideaway. More than served my purpose. I will stay again

This place is the worst I've seen in the continental US. I've seen worse but only in Egypt in 1971. The room is actually a shed, a damp, moldy, smelly, minuscule shed. The linens and towels are thin, old and stained. The room is dirty, scuffed and really tiny. The fake brick wall panels were coming off the wall because of the damp conditions. We had to ask for 2 more towels on our third day because its so damp in the room that the used towels wouldn't dry. It was difficult to breath. There are NO cups, plates or utensils paper or otherwise No coffee maker, kettle or even a small bottle of water. the windows are small and overgrown with ivy. They are head height and every other guest peers in as they all walk by on the narrow path. My husband who is 81 had to sit on the unkempt, overgrown, filthy patio (nothing at all like the photos) to allow me room to get dressed. I'm from Europe,I'm used to small rooms. We were in town for our granddaughter's graduation and visit. Like many people we are on a fixed on a fixed income. We were stuck there. I was so happy to leave this horrible place. The actual house looked fine. The owners should be ashamed of themselves.

Basically used as sleeping spot for jazzfest so bargain for location. Small for 2 people but it worked! Able to spend money on better restaurants than on lodging. Brought my own small fan which helped air circulation too.

The property exterior and garden were great. Super private and quiet. The space itself was more cramped than it appeared in the photos. That being said as a home base for our trip it was sufficient. There were not any extra linens/towels. For a 4-day trip 1 towel per person was not enough and the towels were old and ratty.

Easy walk to Magazine and Tchoupituolas.

Perfect for my needs. Tucked away, yet close to everything.

Owner has the cutest 2 doggies! Location was walking distance from Magazine street, which had plenty to do. Rental space was pretty small but just went there to sleep. Hot tub was great. Shower was not great. HOST was really nice to talk to and let us drop our bags off early.

Location was nice, within walking distance to dining and night life, space was a little dark, we came in at night and had to use our cell phones to see the walking path. We tried to get some of the lights on the trees to work but none would. Other than that it was clean, decent spot.

The blankets were stained. There was hair on the floor. The Wi-Fi network didn’t exist. The pillows (so thin I don’t know if you can call them that) were stained yellow. There are some cute but noisy dogs on the property that will likely wake you up early in the AM. No privacy from the host/owner. I highly recommend staying anywhere else.

Very disappointed, wish we had read the reviews we just looked at the pictures. Needless to say if you want privacy this is not the place to stay. This rental has so many cameras it’s a bit uncomfortable. The studio is tiny, and when you add the fees and cost of rental it came out to be more expensive than a luxury hotel room. But the luxury hotel room would have came without roaches. My wife and I had three roaches that I took pictures of and also noticed that the studio doesn’t have a door sweep under the door so bugs could just get in through under the door. Also the shower seems like it was installed by a diy’r because it doesn’t drain very well and after we took showers and came back to property it smelt like mildew. My wife and I felt horrible the next day. Speaking of the next day we were woken up by the owner and their friend when we wanted to atleast try to sleep in but a 8am all we heard was two men talking outside as if they were right next to us. The bed is a cheaper very firm mattress with a cheap bed frame that makes a lot of noise just getting into it. Then there is the hot tub which is one of the reasons we booked this place and when we saw how the two cameras that are pointed directly at the hot tub it made my wife very uncomfortable. I get the need for cameras but there is a reason you have my card on file if something gets broken I wouldn’t want someone having footage of my wife and I in a hot tub just creepy. Needles to say it wasn’t a good stay.

Perfect hideaway

I wanted a weekend getaway for just me and my wife. We wanted something with a hot tub and that’s why this was one of our options. When we arrived to the house, we actually walked into the wrong house, but the 725 number was on front of the house. Very embarrassing. The room that we had reserved was only the size of the large bathroom. More like a small shop that was converted to an efficiency room. Literally had to squeeze in and walk around the bed. My wife had to squeeze her self in between the vanity in the bathroom to get on the toilet. The homeowners had two dogs that barked and barked, and was so disturbing. The hot tub was built into the back porch of the house that was next to this room. Zero privacy for getting in a hot tub. We did not even sit in the hot tub because of it. I would not recommend this house to anybody unless it was the absolute last thing available. We would feel so much better if we would have just rented a room at a motel.

Host was a great communicator. He upgraded our room and gave us a cookbook he wrote as he was unable to manage our meal/ wine pairing during our stay.
House was clean and beautiful backyard space like the photos showed. It was within walking distance to a streetcar and tons of bars/ fun activities to do. Great location! Great host! Will be back and stay again

Nice relaxing property!
Wish there had been space for a kettle and some wall hooks would be nice.
Enjoyed the stay!

I am usually not a review person, but thought I'd give more insight to the rental than previous travelers as I wish I had known a little bit more of what the place was like. Here are a few examples: absolutely no where to put your luggage - the studio is very little so if you put suitcases on the floor anywhere you will have to step over them - we ended up using the small table as best we could to keep the bags off the floor. No closet or anywhere to hang clothes. We had nice clothes we brought for a graduation that we really want to hang to shake out the wrinkles from packing. Ended up borrowing a couple hangers from our friends that live locally and used the shower bar as our make shift closet. Ladies, to do your make up is very difficult in the bathroom. There is one overhead light that isn't bright so hard to see using the mirror, As another guest mentioned...bathroom very small. I am 5'6 and had to use the door frame to hold on to slide between the wall and the toilet. There is another rental room behind the studio and you can hear the people in that room very easily - coughing and talking. There is a nice courtyard, but when the other guests are using it - they are right outside your window - I looked out and there was a back of a head ....you can hear them on the patio and smell the smoke if smoking etc...It's not a bad location and the price was great but it is very basic...not even a box of klennex or a bar of soap. Just be prepared to not expect much. The sheets didn't match, comforter seemed old....Just wish I had known some of this...hopes this help another traveler make their decision.

This place is a gem. Convenient location, terrific host, beautiful home and property. We loved our stay and will definitely return! We were able to share a lovely meal prepared by Dominique and highly recommend this for future guests! Thanks again for the hospitality.

This is a great. And very safe location close to lots of restaurants and shopping on magazine street. It’s on an unusually wide street uptown. With plenty of parking in very pretty area. The host was very helpful and kind. We were there for six nights. Over Mardi Gras, and we really enjoyed our stay

This was the perfect location for some reunions and visiting with friends that I grew up with. I was in the studio unit. I just wish that it had had a coffee maker or a ceramic mug that I could have heated up water in for coffee! Unit had a microwave and small refrig, which was great.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Dominque was a gracious host. The ambiance is great. We quite liked being surrounded by foliage, and the location of the property is great! Plenty of places to eat within walking distance.

This is a cute little guest house consisting of a bedroom with one bathroom attached. We loved the cute back yard area, with green ivy covering most of the walls, along with twinkle lights that make it feel romantic at night. Everything was very clean, and the host Dominique is a talented chef who has owned several local restaurants over the years. He can even prepare you a tasting menu if you inquire beforehand! Only thing to be aware of is that if you get the studio apartment, do realize the bathroom is quite small; if you’re over 6’3” or so, you may have a hard time with the commode.

Location, location, location!
This tucked away little cottage had the best of everything. Perfectly located just blocks from Magazine street made it walking distance to shopping, stores, and restaurants. The neighborhood was safe, quiet, and we were able to park directly in front of it for free every night! The bed was very comfortable and we had all the things we needed in our room. There was an adorable courtyard area for outdoor sitting and having an evening cocktail. Also a hot tub up on the porch for guest use as well. I loved that this place was almost completely hidden behind the main house as it made me feel very safe and like we were staying in a private garden area. The host was very friendly, welcoming, and had some great pointers on places to eat and see.
We came for the WW2 museum and it was amazing! Just a short 8 minute drive away takes you to the busier part of town where the museum, Aquarium, and Creole Queen Riverboat are. Sooooo many things to check out in the area! New Orleans is so much more than Bourbon Street.
We would definitely stay here again !

Loved this property for my partner and I. We spent other time of our visit seeing and staying within the city; our intention on our last night was to relax before our time back. The studio was as advertised in photos and very clean. It was in the high 20s to low 30s overnight - the studio heated up well and was very cozy.
We finished our night enjoying the hot tub with a bottle of champagne.
Thank you for a lovely place to stay!

Host was amazing and went above and beyond!! Had a private dinner with chef Dominique and was blown away. Location ideal for walking to Magazine st to shop and eat. Best stay we have ever had. Hot tub and wine nightly. Will definitely rebook again. Made a friend for life with Dominique. Can not recommend this Air-B-N-B enough!! Dominique will do everything to make your wishes come true. Super comfortable bed and slept better there than in my own bed!! Love NOLA and will be returning for future visits.
Sending all my family and friends to see Dominique and have a great stay.

This property is absolutely beautiful. Like staying in a fairy cabin in the middle of a piece of paradise. The property manager Dominique was an amazing host. He informed us of local shows (we got to see Kermit Ruffins and Cyril Neville) and recommended the best restaurants. I felt as if I was staying with a dear friend the whole time and always felt welcome. Located near Magazine street the restaurants, bars, and shops were all unique and amazing. The locals were so friendly, one even invited us to a porch show which involved a Jazz band playing on someones front porch, friendly neighbors, and homemade gumbo. It was an easy bus ride to bourbon street and the WWII museum and the possibilities for things to do was endless. Coming back to the studio was like a home away from home. Cozy, comfortable, lots of beautiful greenery, and an amazing Jacuzzi. I can't wait to go back. This property and Dominique will always be my choice when returning to New Orleans. Book with him you won't regret it!

Dominique offers reasonably priced accommodations near the Garden District, an easy walk from Magazine Street restaurants, and close to several bus lines. A professional chef, he has great recommendations about places to dine. He is very hospitable.

Perfect for our needs. Nice quiet location, not far from attractions. Felt secure leaving my car parked on the street. Dominique was very accommodating to our needs. Loved having morning coffee in the courtyard. Would recommend.

This property is centrally located to a lot of New Orleans sites and amenities. Close to public transportation. Hospitality of Dominique was wonderful. Felt as though we were "Home" even though we were "Away". We stayed for six nights and enjoyed every night as though we were at our own home. Though we had just met Dominique, we felt as though we had known him for years. We will definitely stay here on our next visit to New Orleans and invited Dominique to visit us, if he is ever in our area.
