We loved our stay at Dads Retreat. We had plenty of room. Location was perfect. We could get every where by bike or golf cart. The hurricane put a damper on our beach time. But that couldn’t be helped. We got to play in the water with our oldest granddaughter a few days. The beach was a short drive. I rode my bike. The beach was never too crowded. We enjoyed our trip and would definitely go back.

My family and I enjoyed our visit to Ocracoke and were more than happy with Dad's Retreat. We will look to stay here again the next time we travel to the island.

It was perfect for our group. The only thing that would make it better is if it was Dog friendly.

Quaint, small home town feeling island. Great having a golf cart available. Can walk to many restaurants and shops. Beach was amazing. Would highly recommend a beach driving permit if you have 4wd

Found the perfect place for friends to join my husband and I on my first trip to Ocracoke! Comfortable porches, comfortable surroundings and enough space to relax and be our home away from home when we were not out exploring. Good kitchen facilities, too. We appreciated the openness and spaciousness, very clean, but mainly we loved the porches and the quiet! Nice yard, great location. Watch out for mosquitoes, though- do not turn a porch light on if you can avoid it.

My family had a great time in Ocracoke and loved this property! It is right around the corner from the lighthouse. You can easily walk to shops and restaurants. We loved the screened-in porch. Hope to be back!

OBX Fabulous Vacation Get Away!!
This house was perfect for our group of 5 and had plenty of extra room! Very well appointed, updated, and beautifully decorated. Had a get together with our local Ococker friends over and used the grill. We were close to shops, dining, etc. within walking distance. Did rent a golf cart for one day and was fun to get around. We will definitely come back to this property!!! Had a spectacular time!!

Perfect place to stay
My family of 3 stayed at Dad’s Retreat for the Thanksgiving holiday. The house was very clean, spacious, fully stocked kitchen, in a great location. The pictures don’t do the place justice. Will definitely stay here again.

This house was super cute, within walking distance to most everything. It's close to the lighthouse and nature trail. We would definitely stay again.

Listing doesn’t do it justice
Fabulous property. Exactly what we were looking for. My dad is an avid fisherman in his 80’s. In the fall he’s been fishing the Outer Banks since the 60’s. He can no longer camp on Cape Lookout as he’s done for years. So we brought him to Ocracoke instead and rented this cottage for him. It’s all one level and he could get up and down the front stairs easily. Clean and beautiful. We also greatly enjoyed the friendly cat colony that lives in the neighborhood. We hope to do it again with dad next year. Thank you for helping keep an old fisherman “living” his life.

This property was perfectly located close to everything! The front porch was perfect for pirate watching. Was very clean and inviting. I will definitely be booking this house again!

Overall, this is a great house snd we had a great stay. The description was a little misleading, making us think bicycles were at the house, only to find out they were just available to rent in the area. The house was clean, but there were some bugs here snd there. The kitchen is a great size with plenty of storage space, utensils, dishes, and pots and pans. My only suggestion is to think about adding bunk beds in the twin size room, and maybe a sleeper sofa. That would give the opportunity for more guests to stay because there is plenty of living space for them, just not sleeping. Thank you for allowing us to stay. We will definitely remember this place for future trips to Ocracoke!

We really enjoyed our trip. The house was clean and spacious. We really enjoyed plucking a few figs from the tree in the yard. It was great to be able to walk to everything in the village. We would love to come back sometime.

We really enjoyed staying here. More than enough room for the 5-7 people staying, and very convenient. Nice screened in porch. Close to Springer Point for a more laid-back swim. Would definitely consider renting again!

Ocracoke Island without Oct folk festival
The property was extremely clean and just a very very nice house. We were very very happy even though several of our people couldn’t make it and it cost us more. I would highly recommend this property if you’re looking for a place for seven or eight people

From check in to check out the folks at Ocracoke Harbor Inn were wonderful. The house was perfect and perfectly supplied. The location was great and centrally located. Would highly recommend the property and Ocracoke Harbor Inn.

Perfectly Located Cottage
We found this location for a second visit to Ocracoke. It is right next to a wonderful food truck, and minutes from everything you want to do in Ocracoke village. Instructions were clear and friendly, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We absolutely loved it.

It was comfortable and so like home
Ice all day from the ice maker,wonderful weather, friendly people, loved every minute.Dad's Retreat was clean, lots of towels, washer and dryer so did not have to come home with dirty clothes. Trip was everything I had hoped for.
