If you want to truly experience the city of Boston you need to live like a local. This perfectly appointed brownstone did not disappoint! Super clean, small/quaint/cozy but plenty of space. Great outdoor courtyard patio area. We can’t wait to return!! And if you want the best night sleep ever you are going to love the bed! Mattress/bedding were heavenly.

Absolutely amazing stay. My husband and I have rented numerous VRBOs through the years and this one, hands down, was the best. The apartment was beautiful and super clean. Location was perfect. Just a very short walk to the T. Above all, the host was superb! I am 100% going to stay here again and would highly recommend this rental.

This was the cutest historic apartment in a great location. We were walking distance from many restaurants, shops, and public transportation. Everything felt very safe walking in day or night. We loved the sitting in the back patio relaxing and the wonderful hospitality. Snacks and some food were provided (cheese/meat/crackers, wine, OJ, milk, and candy). The apartment felt like a home. We are so happy to have stayed here.

The location, the hosts and all the little extras were top notch! It was so welcoming to be greeted with a bottle of wine and other little culinary treats — they even had a darker make-up towel( now that is really going above & beyond). The only caveat would be the bathroom and bedroom are on different levels- it was fine for us , but if you were to have mobility issues it might be challenging I couldn’t be any more effusive about how perfect this stay was. Two thumbs way up!

Great location and the residence was equipped with everything to make your stay comfortable. Host was very thoughtful in supplying some snacks and drinks although we had already bought stuff before arriving. Music was on when we entered providing a very welcoming experience. Hope to return!

This was my fifth trip to Boston. This place just exudes historical charm; all of the reviews are accurate and the praise well-deserved. The owners have literally thought of everything and the level of hospitality is one of the best I've ever experienced on VRBO, with a kitchen stocked with food items as well as a bathroom full of amenities; so many, in fact, that we could not even use them all. The location of the condo could not be better: just a few minutes walk to the Back Bay T station. Very easy to get to wherever you need to go in Boston. About the layout. Looking at the photos, I actually thought the stairs went up from the street entrance but they actually go downstairs from street level. The bedroom is more or less on street level while the kitchen, bathroom, and sitting area (plus access to the rear yard) are at a lower level (technically, the bedroom overlooks the rear yard). It's an old building but everything has been remodeled and is in excellent shape. Some may find the stairs to be narrow and steep. They are not unsafe, but some extra caution is needed. The motion-activated night lights are a very welcome addition. The owners live on site in an adjoining unit. The condo displays pride of ownership and that translates to an excellent experience. This is hands down one of the best places I have stayed on VRBO. If I come to Boston in the future for sure I will try to book this place again.

I stayed here while visiting my daughter that goes to BU. I absolutely loved this area and neighborhood and the details were wonderful from the host! Will definitely be back!

We are coming to Boston often as we visit our daughter in college. This was our best stay by far. The place is absolutely adorable, cozy, & very quiet. The little garden was our favorite part. The house has plenty of storage space and many hangers in the closets, all little details are taken care of with everything you can possibly need. Jack is a great host, provided lots of snacks & wine. We felt like home & I won’t look for any other place to stay in Boston next time!

My husband and I stayed in this adorable little home while visiting Boston for our 5th wedding anniversary. It is in a perfect location - close to shops, drug store, and within walking distance to nice restaurants. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. You’ll enjoy the roomy but cozy living room and big kitchen, everything you need for your stay is at your fingertips. The outdoor patio is too adorable for words.

Despite having the worst cold of my life, we absolutely adored our visit to Boston. Our stay here was incredible...quiet, lovely street, impeccably clean and furnished abode, and delightful owners. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!! Wanted to provide this review earlier, but still dragging from my cold!

We stayed here in October for a fall getaway. Upon arrival we were met by Greg who gave us a quick tour of the residence. Our hosts had a charcuterie board waiting which was great as we were starving. I am in remission from cancer which I shared and they also had a congratulatory cake in the fridge. So heartfelt. Every amenity or small item you need they have it. Kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked. The whole unit was very warm and cozy. After long days of walking the city my girlfriend and I were super happy to return and just relax. The LOCATION!!! You are within walking distance to everything. A subway/train station, restaurants galore, entertainment and historic sights. Parks. And if you are not in the walking mood, Uber's are there within minutes. You are also within a 20 minute Uber ride to the airport. Overall this was the best VRBO experience I have had. The hosts are incredibly hospitable and gracious. The unit is very warm and cozy and the location is exceptional. All around we loved staying here. I HIGHLY recommend.

The owners (Jack and Greg) have thought of absolutely everything to make one's stay as perfect as possible. This beautifully renovated duplex is on a very quiet street in a great location. You can easily access the T, and you are only a short walk from the Public Gardens, the Prudential Center, and the Freedom Trail. The duplex is completely updated and has a comfortable sofa and chairs and the most comfy bed. But what really makes this place special is the owner's attention to detail. We arrived to find the fridge stocked with a bottle of wine, milk, juice, yogurt and some fruit. There were snacks in the cabinet and a bowl of Reese's peanut butter cups on the counter. The bathroom cabinet has anything you may have forgotten. Nightlights have been strategically place throughout the rental. It is a very welcoming atmosphere. We have stayed in a lot of rentals, but this is truly our favorite. Anyone renting should be aware that since the building was built in the 1800's, the stairs are steeper and narrower than modern stairs. We thought the stairs added to the wonderful atmosphere of the duplex, but for someone with knee issues, they may present a challenge. Thank you Jack and Greg for making us feel so welcome and sharing your duplex with us. If we are ever back in Boston, we will definitely stay here again and we will be recommending your rental to all our family and friends.

The condo was a 10 out of 10. The condo had anything and everything that we needed. Our host was great. The location was just perfect for us.. Easy to get around, and lots of great restaurants within walking distance.

My husband and I travel a lot and this is by far our favorite place we have stayed at! We stayed 4 nights while we toured Boston and everything was PERFECT! Very clean, well stocked, cutest and most comfortable decor, thought of everything a guest would ever want or need! Thank you for the wine, meats, cheese, crackers and candy! You guys are the best hosts with the best home! The outdoor patio is a perfect place to sit and relax in the mornings. The house is extremely kept with great taste in decor and thought put into feeling like home. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at this property so much! Jack, the property owner and manager, was outstanding - responsive when we had questions and reached out to see how we were doing and whether there was anything which would make our stay even more enjoyable. The property is spic and span and so homey it felt like we were staying with friends - the kind of friends who make sure you have everything you need and then give you space to enjoy vacation. I wish we would have had more time to enjoy the relaxing patio and take advantage of the well-stocked kitchen. We would definitely stay here again.

This place was amazing! It's well-appointed, decorated beautifully and comfortable. We felt immediately at home. Even though we'd never met the VRBO owner, it felt like we were visiting "Uncle Jack's house." The hosts were exceptional. They have thought of everything and then some:, including but not limited to: automatic icemaker; pots and pans; some pantry staples in the cupboards; two ways to make coffee; snacks on the counter; seltzer water in the fridge, etc. The living room area is cozy but not cramped at all. It has a door that goes out onto an enclosed backyard area which is fenced in with a lovely seating area. The bathroom is clean and the towels were fluffy, soft, absorbant and sparkling white. The bathroom cabinet, like the kitchen, was stocked with some of those 'extra' things that one can forget to bring: razor; toothpaste; Q-tips; etc. They went over the top here, too, though. In the cabinet below the sink there was a magnified makeup mirror -- who does that? Another over-the-top perk: small lights that go on automatically on the stairs as you approach as well as ascend or descend them. The bedroom was upstairs (this VRBO) has two levels. It was on the backside of the house, overlooking the garden area. The house is over 150 years old so the room itself was small but the furniture fit nicely and the room was not crowded. A nice touch: a power strip on each side of the bed so that electronics were easy to keep at hand during the night and also charge at the same time. The bed was really comfortable and the pillows on it were 'just right'. A few things to be aware of that were NOT issues or challenges to me/us but might be so for others: The unit has two levels. You walk in through a hallway to the back of the building. Their is a small adjoining hallway that takes you to the bedroom. The closet in the bedroom has ample hanging space and hangers but the closet has an upper and lower rack so there is no place to hang up any dresses. The bedroom is the only room located on this main floor. The rest of the unit is located on the level below, accessed by a winding staircase that is fairly narrow. Only one person can traverse it at a time! And each step is unique in the height of the rise. The staircase was safe but one should exercise care while on it. Finally, the bathroom is on the bottom floor not off/adjoining the bedroom. My ONLY complaint? It's too far away for us to go back regularly.

What can we say that hasn’t been said already? The reviews are accurate: neat, very clean, updated, comfortable, great location, and just an all-around great choice when visiting the Back Bay Area. I’m not going to lie…we arrived during the heat wave that was sweeping (most) of the country. When I read that we’d have window a/c’s (in 98° weather), I was prepared for uncomfortable living and sleeping quarters for the first couple of days, (until the temps broke). It turned out to be a non-issue (and we even had to turn the a/c down). Very happy that we were comfortable. Jack and Greg were wonderful hosts and their place is beautiful! We’ve rented many times, mostly with good results, but rarely do you find a rental with nicer details, plates/dishes, decorations and an added bonus of wine and snacks included in the rental. It really made it feel like you were staying, and welcome, in someone’s personal home. Had a great visit. It was on a quiet, shaded street, with close proximity to just about everything. We arrived by train and had no car; most days we walked everywhere (sometimes >7 mi/day). But it’s a short distance from the Back Bay station for those needing a subway or train close by. Wonderful place. And we loved the added info about the history of this place. Thank you!

I should start with there are no negatives about this place. The location is fantastic, but tucked away so it's totally quiet, which you really appreciate when sitting in the gorgeous garden patio. "Well appointed" doesn't cover it. This place has everything and then some. Jack is a gracious and generous host. We were able to check in early and after a long day of travel, the wine and snacks in the fridge were a super bonus (as were the coffee, milk, yogurt and lemon cake the next day!). The lower level is naturally cool (worry not, AC available), which made a difference on the scorching hot days we were there. Having a washer/dryer was a real bonus. It's worth noting that the bed/bedding (and pillows!) were A++ comfortable. Would book again in a heartbeat.

I use short term rentals whenever I go on vacation. These were by far the most thoughtful hosts I’ve ever had. Anything you could need, or forget, they have thought of. They checked in regularly to make sure we were doing ok and having a good time. The location is fantastic. It’s less than 2 blocks from the T. If you’re going to stay in Boston you can’t go wrong with this property.

This was the BEST place we have ever stayed, by far. Our host, Jack, was so friendly and informative, meeting us personally at Check In. This location was walkable to everything in Boston plus near a T stop if you prefer. We love to walk so this was excellent for us!! The little touches will make you understand why this home away from home is so very special. The back patio was very enjoyable, the Queen bed super comfy, we slept like babies and had a perfect kitchen!! We will definitely be back when we visit our daughter ay Northeastern. Thank you for an awesome stay!!!!!!

Our experience at Jack’s place was amazing. The house was immaculate and our gracious host even provided food. Even though the location is in the heart of Boston it was a quiet area and very easy to sleep in (important because we were there for the Boston Marathon). The area we were staying at was within walking distance of many restaurants and scenic areas. We will definitely be staying here again when we go back to Boston!

We had a wonderful stay. Our hosts were so thoughtful and nice. The property was immaculate and stocked with everything we needed. The neighborhood was friendly and extremely quiet for being in the center of everything. We were surrounded by delightful restaurants and just steps from the T for quick transportation all over the city. This was such a great trip we hope we can go again and hopefully stay at the same place because it was so perfect!!!

I travel to Boston often to visit my daughter who is in graduate school. And this time around I wanted to stay in a quiet neighborhood with an easy access to the T and fun coffee shops. I found exactly what I was looking for plus a super clean, comfortable and wonderfully decorated apartment with lovely owners. I am thinking of making this my go to apartment every time I visit my daughter as it was absolutely the best Stay I have had in Boston. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you Jack and Greg!

Jack and Greg are terrific hosts who really care about your stay. Their hospitality is unrivaled. We've stayed at "Jack's Place" several times now since our daughter started at Northeastern. Jack has been a wonderful help with navigating the Boston and is dedicated to making sure your stay is a pleasant one.

I travel a lot and spend my time exclusively in home shares. This has, by far, been my best experience yet. In any stay there is always some (usually very little) thing that I think back to my vacation share hosting days and say "I would have done that differently but it's no big deal.". Not this place. It is perfect in every way and the hosts go out of their way to make you feel at home. Home shares in a large city can be a bit tricky, with walking with groceries and such. No need to worry about that, they supplied more than I could have ever asked for and that I needed. The place is also spotless...just try and find anything that isn't impeccably clean. The outside garden area is also very nice for an evening cocktail, even in November as the high fence blocks some of the wind. I'll definitely stay here again, on my next visit to Boston, and suggest it to all my friends.
