Very nice house, recent bath and kitchen fixtures, quiet location, walking distance to beach. Easy and good communication during stay (although we didn't have any issues).

Our group of six long time friends booked Laura's cottage for a weekend. The house was comfortable, roomy and decorated so nicely. Our favorite was the deck which overlooked the marsh. We walked to the beach with the beach buggy and beach chairs provided and hung for a bit. Close drive to so many restaurants, activities, etc. The house had so much information about the area. Now for Laura - she is a terrific host and communicating with her was so easy and she was always responsive. I would definitely recommend booking the cottage.

We were attending a wedding in Gloucester and stayed for 2 nights. A lovely beach home with a cottage feel! We highly recommend.

Laura's place is a gem and she is a terrific hostess. It is within walking distance to Good Harbor beach and drivable to all sorts of fun outings. It was the perfect size for our family of 8 - our four kids and to of their partners. The living area space, deck, and kitchen allowed for both full group moments and one on one time. Laura recently redid the kitchen and it was terrific. We highly recommend making pancakes on the stovetop griddle. Thanks for a great weekend in this special home.

This was a wonderful location for myself and family while my nephew got married in Gloucester. Every place I looked up to go to was 6 minutes away! My only concern was that since there had been heavy rain, the road was a bit treacherous (a taxi nearly stalled out in the lower section of the road.) Would love return in the warmer days of the year!

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay. The house is beautiful and very clean. Easy walking distance from the beach and only a short drive to Gloucester, Rockport, Halibut State Park and Crane Beach. Very quiet location.

This charming home fit my wife and me, our two daughters and their husbands perfectly for Christmas. The beach is less that a mile away and it’s a beautiful place to walk. The living room is comfortable with a couch and two stuffed chairs, a desk and a reading area. The small dining room sat the six of us. The kitchen is well-appointed with pots, pans, utensils and lovely dishes.

It was perfect to get away To accommodate us to go to wedding and enjoy waking up and having ca cup of coffee and not rushing out @10am.

This property was clean and well cared for. It was very cozy and homey. Although our stay was during cold weather, the outside deck was beautiful. Wished it was bit warmer to be able to fully enjoy it! I would definitely rent again and strongly recommend this property for anyone considering a stay in the Gloucester area.

We took our annual girls trip to Salem this year for the witch museum tour. I was a little nervous renting a vrbo again because the one last year was awful!! As soon as we walked in this place took my breath away!! It was adorable!! A huge wrap around porch with the cutest seating set up. A beautiful flag stone garden... complete with chipmunks and wild bunnies running around... But for me the best part was the cleanliness!! I have issues with OCD so even alittle area of dirt has my anxiety at an all time high and can ruin a whole trip for me... you guys I walked in to the cleanest and cutest little place EVER! We were absolutely impressed beyond words. I'm so grateful to the owner for actually taking pride and care in having such a clean environment. No bugs even though it's backed up to a marsh... no webs... no dust... the decor was so cute and the beds were so comfy. I don't think the central air was working but I'm not sure there was any but I don't think it was even needed...there were ceiling fans in almost every room and just having those on was perfect!! The owner was really really nice and my daughter was tickled that she kept called her "honey" when they talked on the phone... maybe it's an east coast thing... everyone we came in to contact with was so nice I can't even believe how nice they are there... I'm definitely going back to this little place!! Thank you so much for such an amazing experience... if you are thinking about this rental, look no further

It was beautiful and cozy. Had plenty of space for a large group of adults to sleep comfortably. Excellent access to the beach and amazing restaurants. Would definitely book again if I were to ever return to the area. The host was awesome and easy to contact.

This place had the most amenities I have experienced. Particularly the kitchen supplies. Host was also very responsive and helpful.

Clean, bright, roomy, comfortable, with everything you need to relax and enjoy this cottage that is an easy walk to Good Harbor. Laura responds quickly to any questions and has thought of everything. The well-furnished deck is a wonderful spot to spend your time when not at the beach. Such a peaceful, private setting. This is our second stay here and I cannot say enough about it.

We are a family, kids, grandkids, and we have stayed at this cottage quite a few times. It is always a wonderful vacation, the house is just right for all of us and we all love the sea, this beach is great for kids. A lovely time.

Such a comfortable, cozy and welcoming cottage! The views from the expansive deck are spectacular and the birds chirping added a layer of cheer! The well stocked kitchen and lots of extra linens added to the home's comfort. Being walking distance to the beach was a bonus! Would love to visit Howard's Cottage again. Thank you.

We spent a few days with our best man and his wife as we are celebrating our 34th wedding anniversary. They traveled from England to our home near Boston and we drove an hour to this glorious cottage by The sea. It's a magical place with peaceful views overlooking natural reeds and red wing blackbirds and seabirds. The beds are extremely comfortable and the home feels like a home away from home. It's beautifully decorated and extremely tidy and clean and there are so many whimsical details throughout including the artwork and handmade quilts. Laura left a ton of information on the desk about things to do in the area including a schooner sailing trip, which we took on the Ardell with Harold Burnham. We sailed for 2 hours on a beautiful day with a fantastic wind carrying us across the harbor and into the sea. There are lovely restaurants all around including Yella by the sea in Gloucester where we had our final dinner before heading home. There's a grocery store around the corner and the beach is in easy walking distance. On the last morning we got up early to watch the sunrise over the ocean and it was spectacular. This is our first time to the North Shore and we have fallen in love with it and are sure to come back to this lovely home again.

Howard's Cottage was absolutely adorable. There was plenty of space and plenty of amenities. Laura was easy to contact and more than accommodating. You can see the beach from the house although it is not beachfront. It was a short walk to a gorgeous beach. The beds were comfortable. I would definitely return.

We went to the North Shore for our daughter’s college graduation and had the best 4 night stay at the beach cottage. The home was clean, bright and delightfully decorated. It is a short walk to Good Harbor beach and we took advantage of that each day. It was the perfect place to stay and we recommend it without reservation!! We will return!

This home met our every need. The only drawback was the condition of the road the home is on. It was very challenging with deep, deep ruts that made navigating it hard.

The cottage is charming and spacious, except for the kitchen which is small with not much work space. It is attractively decorated with local artwork on the walls and quilts on the beds. It was warm and comfortable for us in mid-March, even during a northeaster, and fortunately we didn't lose power. When the sun is out, most of the rooms receive a lot of light. There are nice views across the marsh in back of the house towards the beach, and Good Harbor Beach is an easy walk. While we were there, the marsh was full of birds - Canada geese, mallards, gulls, and red-winged blackbirds - and there were songbirds in the shrubs around the house. Besides the small kitchen, the only negative was that the water takes a long time to heat up. A neighboring house is close on one side, but it and half the other houses on the lane were not occupied this time of year. The owner was very communicative and generously offered us an extra day at no charge because of the storm, though we were unable to take her up on it. We and our dog enjoyed walking on several beautiful sandy beaches and to the cliffs at Halibut Point. We also visited the Cape Ann Museum in Gloucester which is very good. The cottage made a good base for visiting with family in the greater Boston area and exploring Cape Ann.

My husband, our dog and I just spent two magical months with an ocean view in the winter and we can't wait to come back! Laura is an incredibly responsive, giving host and her house is charming and warm and perfect. The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked and there are enough antique serving platters to cater a royal banquet. There is nothing like a five-minute walk to the beach, watching the waves roll in from the upstairs bay window or hunkering down with a good book and a mug of hot chocolate on the most comfortable couch ever. (Can you tell we loved it?) We had a couple of overnight guests as well and they fell in love with the cottage just as we did (and you will, too!). It was so hard to go home!

My family of 5 stayed in this beautiful New England cottage for 4 nights including Christmas. What a wonderful time we had! So much beautiful sunlight, gorgeous art snd decor, perfect for dining in and celebrating. And yes, the cottage was warm and inviting throughout our visit even when a power outage arose and in below freezing temps..We visited Rockport to shop and dine and enjoyed other nearby places like the market Common Crow. Laura was a wonderful host and communicator, a real bonus! . Hope to revisit in the balmy temperatures. Thank you Laura!

A perfect place close to the beach for a holiday family gathering. Clean, lovely, well-stocked. Laura communicated promptly and was flexible . Dog- friendly!

From the games and quilts to the well appointed kitchen and lamps throughout, this cottage was a cozy haven from the rain during a quick winter’s stay on Cap Ann. It was a last minute booking and could not have been a better decision—a destination we’ll look to book again!

It’s very apparent that this home is an ideal place to stay during the Summer, but our Winter weekend was absolutely perfect here!

Laura was a responsive and kind host and we had so much fun during our weekend training cozying up in the house and enjoying the views. Such a beautiful area and the beds were super comfy too!!
