My family just spent 9 nights in this home. Here are the great parts: -Location! -View -Super comfy beds!! -Cozy living room with nice throw blankets -Great beach gear -Nice outdoor patio -Washer/dryer -Easy off-street parking -Good communication with host -Bathroom in each bedroom! Needs improvement: -Leaky window in living room -Leaky sink -Fridge needs updating (especially water filter and ice maker) -Kitchen needs some more things for cooking like tin foil, larger storage containers with lids, and things like that for leftovers. -Had very little toilet paper for us. We had to buy our own. -We are big tea drinkers, and their tea pot was unusable. We enjoyed our visit but wouldn’t stay there again.

What a gem! Great location and very charming little house with. Perfect for our short trip to Carlsbad. Will definitely stay here again!

I cannot say enough positive things about our stay. Our host was wonderful and attentive, the home was spotless and had every amenity we could need and the location is absolutely perfect. Walkable to the beach and Carlsbad village, we will absolutely be looking to stay here anytime we come to town to visit friends.

I could tell that the owners really care about their property and take good care of it. They called us to let us know that it was ready early (about 90 minutes before check in time). The house was very clean and in good repair. Plenty of towels, kitchenware, cleaning supplies, etc. There is a gorgeous view of the beach from the front living room window. The neighborhood is quite nice and people were very friendly. I was really glad for the off-the-street parking. The garage is kind of small, but I was able to fit my midsized SUV in it. The parking spot on the side of the garage is quite spacious.

We travel to California every year in October and have done so for a number of years. Consequently, we have booked a number of different rentals. Without a doubt, this one was the best by far. Pam was a perfect hostess, the house was spotless and had every convenience that we could have asked for. The view from the deck was positively stunning and the photos of sunsets and ocean are priceless. We walked across the street to be at the shore and enjoy the magnificent ocean power. Transportation to and from the house was effortless. This is the place from now on for our annual visit. Treat yourself and book Pam’s lovely rental home!

It was so nice to have a full kitchen and two spacious bedrooms, an outdoor eating area plus two lounge areas. The home is located about a mile from Carlsbad Village and across the street from the ocean. There is some traffic noise during the day but it’s quiet after 9pm. The owner was very communicative.

This house was in a prime location. Beach is across the street, or you can walk, bike, or shop nearby. Relax and people watch or enjoy ocean sunsets from living room or comfy patio with outdoor dining and fire pit. Our sisters get-away was just perfect.

The photos don't do this property justice. It's much bigger & brighter than it looks and the outdoor space is perfect - we even had people stop on the corner to ask us how we got so lucky. Amazing location, just across the street from a large, beautiful sandy beach. Good layout with bedrooms toward the back, away from the street. Large, well equipped kitchen and loads of beach stuff, including for kids. Super convenient to have the parking spot as well. Really loved our stay. My only feedback is that is seems checkout is actually earlier than the listed 10.30am... we began getting texts & calls from the owner at 8.45 and by 9.30 she was on site trying to hustle us out. I was already frazzled trying to pack up with a 4 year old in tow and I'd promised him he could visit the beach one last time, so having to rush around like a headless chicken instead and leave 45mins early without the promised goodbye to the beach made for a challenging last morning to say the least. I wish the actual departure time had just been communicated upon check in, as I would have packed the night before and not promised my son his beach goodbye. I'd love to stay again but would just assume an 8.00a departure and plan accordingly.

Pros Location close to beach access, great for viewing sunsets and people watching. Great outdoor space - deck w/fire pit, dining area and grassed area. Large off-road parking space, easy to unload baggage from vehicle into house. Lots of beach items in very good condition - we noted 6 chairs, 2 beach umbrellas, plenty of kids toys, boogie boards and a wagon too. Interior of house decorated in a beachy theme and was quite well equipped. There are a few steps from living room to kitchen, then kitchen to bedrooms, so not all on one level but very manageable. Laundry room was great for doing a midweek wash and pods were provided. Good lighting in the house and showers had good water pressure. Owners living next door, so close if any issues arise. Both very friendly. Prompt communication. Possible Cons - The beds were a little too soft for us with the mattress toppers, but others may find them OK. Noise from the road can be loud, but you have to expect that given the close proximity to ocean. We got used to it after a couple of days. Overall a great place for a beach holiday.

We were looking for a place close to family and close to the beach. The house fit the bill exactly! A great vacation for us. Comfortable and easy to access and park. Friendly owners and quick to assist. One note, it can get loud on the 101 with the cars driving by.

Great location on a great beach. The house was well-appointed and EZ parking. We enjoyed Carlsbad and the whole North Coast. We'll be back!

Walking into this home was like walking into an Instagram influencer vacation. This is the the quintessential beach dream vacation home. There is something so special about this place, you just automatically sink in. On the practical side, it has every single thing you could need for your vacation from a fully stocked kitchen (tools, pans and such) to the perfect stocked garage for your trip to the shore, (beach chairs, umbrella, wagon, toys) EVERYTHING. We had a few interactions with the owners including a special visit from her son who so generously came and invited us to come watch the neighborhood fireworks on the 4th of July. This stay was a pleasure from start to finish and I truly hope we get to go again in the future. 10 out of 10

Very special house. 100 yards from the beach. Great patio. Views from living room. Owners were special. Carlsbad is best beach. Bike trail, walking trail, surfing....just across the street.

This house was great! Super clean all the way around! Ocean view, nice deck and lawn to enjoy watching the surferS. The management was very helpful and friendly and a phone call away! Definitely will stay here again!

Pam the owner said she is working on this, but the water was turned off by the city for the entire day for over 12 hours that we couldn’t shower use the restroom it’s not my idea of an ideal vacation situation I feel I’m entitled to a refund for the inconvenience! I had to book a hotel for that night so that we could shower sleep use the restroom and then get up and be someplace the next morning that was part of our plan for our vacation. I couldn’t take a chance of water will be turned on and when I spoke with the men working on it , they also they had no idea when it would be back on they couldn’t guarantee anything.! So i am out an additional 280.00 for a hotel room on top of the night at the house i paid for Its not right or fair!

My wife and I had a wonderful time here. Right across from the beach! Great kitchen and outdoor space. Only a short walk to Carlsbad Village. Communication with the host was great. We will stay here again!

We had an amazing stay at this location. It is perfect for beach time, relaxing patio time and so close to great restaurants and shops! Pam takes great care of her guests!

We had the best time at this property! Well stocked, wonderful owners, and the location can't be beat. Easy walk to the beach and downtown. Perfect sunset view from porch. Legoland is a short drive and the Zoo was under 40 minutes. Wonderful family rental, will most definitely return.

Location! Coming from South Dakota where it is currently-20 degrees, this is a dream for us. Only a few seconds from beach area walking. Loads of beach items for the kids. Watched surfers from sun up to sun down. Best view ever! Kind host. Amazing food everywhere. Carlsbad Village is only a 10 min walk right on the ocean. Never a dull moment, unless you choose. We will definitely be back!

This property right across the street from the best beach in Carlsbad offered a welcome respite from cold weather on the east coast. The house was tastefully decorated and the private driveway parking spot was a plus. The outside patio area was great for relaxing, and the beds were comfortable. The house is located on the main drag so there is some traffic noise but it's not too bad. I usually visit my family in Carlsbad twice a year and would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed for a week and really enjoyed this home. The location is amazing! The sunsets are so fun to sit outside and watch! Al and Pam are very nice owners!

Pros: * location to everything - beaches, other counties, LEGOLAND, zoos, etc. * private parking spot on site for a large vehicle (Tahoe/Truck) * it’s a minute walk to the beach * high water pressure * fast hot water * 2.5 bathrooms * kitchen area is big with a gas stove * In room wall AC units * the landscaping * front patio area - watch the littles it has sharp cutout corners around the plants * everything you need for the beach is in the garage * the beds are comfy * gas grill, fireplace & firepit * the side yard where you park has a cute little garden for veggies & fruits (I don’t know if you can eat them but it’s so cute & kept our little guy busy) * full size washer & dryer - with plenty of pods to wash your clothes Neutral: * the owners live next door * a contract is required after you complete your booking via Vrbo * the house has a lot of nuances * all the cleaning supplies are easily accessible in the event you need to clean up the sand * plenty of in room trash cans to help clean up the sand * lots of windows to open & cool the house down when it isn’t humid or super warm out Cons: * it’s a reallllly busy corner - watch the kids closely! * the entire house could use some TLC * No central AC - just a fan unit that we never got to go below 78 * the futon couches - not something to curl up & take an afternoon nap on. *** don’t forgot - LOTS of sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, & baby powder (it gets all the sand off). *** The beach is front of the house is a much less touristy area - compared to where the village is. Lots of surfers and locals.

This beautiful historic home is across from the ocean. You can see the breakers from the original front window; watch the sunset from chairs on the lawn or cross one street to walk in the sand. Very comfortable, relaxing spot. Owners highly responsive to the few questions we had. Highly recommend!

Just what we were looking for on our recent trip to the San Diego area. Close to the beach, restaurants, shopping, and the freeway. Loved the authentic feel of the place, very comfortable and welcoming.
