The owner Lourdes treated me like a mum. She invited me for dinner with her friend on Christmas eve since I arrived late and everything was closed. She lent me money to buy a sim card as she was scared if walked alone to an atm. She drove me the next day to the bank and the bus station and was just nice all the time. What a good soul. The room is nice and quiet and perfect for one or a few nights.

It's far from the beach. But I was looking for that.

Lourdes is a really nice host. We arrived late and she stayed there waiting for us. the breakfast is good and her company is the best. the bed was extremely comfortable and we had absolutely everything we needed. thank you for your hospitality 🙏🏽🙏🏽

Everything was percect!! Whish we could have stay more! Much more better to stay in a house like this with a really kind lady who helped us, than staying in the “fancy” hotel zone with rich and high-minded people :) There was a possibility to have also breakfast but we weren’t hungry so we didn’t try. She also helped us and took us to the supermarket. The room was clean and also the bathroom.

Wonderful host with great tips for traveling! Check-in and -out times were very flexible and the home cooked breakfast was delicious! The bed was comfortable, the room had air conditioning, a fan and the windows were equipped with mosquito nets.

No review can do justice to the experience Lourdes provides her guests with. My father stayed a total of 4 nights and she took care of him like family. She was in constant communication with us right from the start and was only ever a text away in case we needed anything. She picked him up/ dropped him off ay the airport , bus and ferry terminal as well as various other places including the clinic where he could get his covid test prior to traveling back. The accommodation is in a more residential area but with bus access to the beaches. Lourdes made lovely breakfasts and her house has a beautiful courtyard to relax and enjoy long talks with her. Although Lourdes is extremely busy and active in her community, she takes the time to make her guests feel special and welcome. In addition to being a wonderful hostess, Lourdes is an incredible person with a big heart and beautiful soul. Cancun is definitely not the prettiest or most culturally appealing destination, but meeting Lourdes makes the trip entirety worthwhile. Thank you Lourdes.

Lulu is simply amazing. It was the best way to begin my travels. She was super helpful, picked me up at the airport and dropped me at the bus station. Lulu feels like family!

We really enjoyed our stay in Mariposas Rooms. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, but most of all Lourdes is one of the warmest, most hospitable hosts we had a chance to meet during our travels. She was incredibly helpful. She helped us exchange money, buy a sim card and most of all - rent a car at a good rate. It saved us a lot of time and money. She also gave us a lot of advice on what to do and how to move around. She is such a warm and loving person that we wished we could've stayed longer. :) A tip: Don't overpay for a taxi from the airport - ask Lourdes to pick you up - it's much cheaper.

Comfortable room with a huge bed with fresh sheets, Netflix, AC. The property is in a secure location. Lourdes is an incredible host and will ensure that you are as comfortable as possible, what a lovely lady! The experience is similar to staying with a friend or family. Our stay was perfect, we are definitely booking Mariposas next time we are transiting in Cancun. Highly recommended.

Lourdes was a wonderful host! She was so nice and accommodating! The rooms were clean and spacious, and we used the living room. The host can also pick you up from the airport for a small fee. The taxis in Cancun are a monopoly so they jack up prices.

The stay was nice and cordial! Lourdes picked me up from the airport and drove me back the next day for my next flight for a reasonable fee. Otherwise she prepared some nice breakfast, offered water and was always up for advice or for a small chat. I also met another nice guest from her, so we had some interesting conversations altogether. The room had everything you need, a comfy bed and an ac for hotter days. Would definitely come back!

Comfortable, nice neighbourhood, and easy to locate!

The house is situated in a very nice and quiet residential area,but a bit far away from the beach. We stayed there for 2 nights before the flight and the host helped us a lot taking to a cheaper covid testing place. The house is very cozy and clean and Lourdes immediately makes you feel at home.Thanks!

She is the most adorable person you will meet! We felt like home and learned a lot about Cancun and the locals! On the first evening she took us to a small restaurant and translated for us and told them that I'm vegetarian, like a mum ^^ The room is adorable too, the bathroom is shared with the second room. The breakfast is very delicious, she made it fresh and asked us for special wishes! She always care about you and help you to have the best stay!

It's a little bit away from the hotel zone, but it was not a problem. We took the bus or our host was driving us (little fee).

Everything was perfect, but e have to highlight Lourdes. We read the comments and had great expectations of the experience but she was beyond that and we felt she made us feel like a member of a family. She picked us at the airport (cheaper than a taxi, recommended) and stopped for us to get dinner and withdraw money. From that on we were sad to leave as we just wanted to keep that true Cancun life. We loved it so much when we returned one last night to Cancun and made sure we spent another night there.

+++ Lourdes +++ her hospitality is amazing. You feel at home the moment you meet her. It is like staying with your second mother and she helps you with anything you may need. I can honestly recommend to the fullest!

I stayed at Lourdes’ home for one night after arriving in Cancun and it was such a great landing place after a long trip- Lourdes picked me up from the airport and i had a great nights sleep and an excellent breakfast with heartfelt conversations and felt at home!

She treats us like family and made our stay in Cancun an unforgettable experience!! she helped us so much, she waited for us close to 2am at the airport to pick us up, drove us around and show us places, picked us up at the bus stop and helped us so much with buying a car! We are so grateful and hope to come back again.

Staying at Lourdes’ place was like visiting your favourite grandma. This is a place you choose if you want to feel like family even though you are far away from home. Lourdes speaks English very good and is really friendly, so we spent hours talking about everything. We had a wonderful time together - if we are ever back in Cancun, we will definitely stay with Lourdes, as this is exactly the kind of experience we are looking for when backpacking. The place is very clean and cozy. Lourdes disinfect the place after every guest. The bed is very comfortable and big, so we had a good rest. We would definitely recommend the place to anyone who doesn’t want to stay in soulless hotels and prefers to be close to locals.

The host is one of the warmest persons we have ever met and created a very cozy and homely feeling during our stay. It felt more like visiting a dear relative that we didn't know we had. The place is also really nice and clean with a lovely garden. Perfect place to relax and get your energy back + delicious breakfast in the morning customized according to our needs. Wish we could have stayed longer than one night! Host helped us with everything we needed including transport to the airport
