"Peter's Hill Guest Cottage est un cottage parfaitement charmant. Notre famille de quatre personnes (y compris deux adolescents) nous avons séjourné ici pendant cinq nuits en juillet / août. There is a very good reason that this location receives consistent 5 star ratings. It is a beautifully decorated, well-designed cottage that it is in a wonderful location. The amazing hosts treat their guests so extremely well that guests will regret having to leave. I can't imagine ever having nicer, better hosts.

My daughter, her partner and I enjoyed a week at Peter’s Hill Guest Cottage. The cottage is very comfortable, nicely decorated, well equipped, and well maintained. It’s a short walk to Blue Hill and easily accessible to other areas (Ellsworth, Acadia, Deer Isle, etc.), yet the setting is peaceful and private. We particularly enjoyed sitting outside and watching (and listening to) the many birds that came to the feeders. We also appreciated the attention to/ opportunity to compost and recycle.

We have stayed at this perfect cottage several times. Françoise and Scott are wonderful hosts and do whatever they can to make your time here memorable. It’s close to everything - Kneisel Hall, the town of Blue Hill - and an easy drive to Acadia and Schoodic Point. We are sad every time we leave it.

Wonderful place to stay
We spent a very comfortable month at Peters Hill Guest Cottage. We felt very much at home! The property is well appointed and private even though the owners live close by. The bookshelves are filled with an interesting collection of books and the walls are decorated with the owners artwork. The location is very peaceful. Lovely to wake up to the sounds of the birds. It's an easy walk into Blue Hill to enjoy coffee, restaurants etc. Scott and Francoise are very welcoming hosts. Highly recommend.

Fabulous Find in Blue Hill
Out of all the vacation rentals I’ve had in the recent 10-15 years— this sweet guest house/cottage is head and shoulders above any other rentals I’ve been to. The owners are very welcoming, helpful and the location was still very private. Very well stocked with everything you need. Very clean and modern, as well.
Well located near Bar Harbor and Acadia. But away from the crowds. It’s a good home base to explore south towards Deer Isle, north towards Belfast and East towards all the port towns. Castine and Stonnington were also nearby.

We loved our stay at the cottage. We used it as a home base to explore the area and Acadia. The cottage is tucked away off the beaten path. It is clean, comfortable and fully stocked with amenities. The hosts are incredibly kind and helpful. We fully recommend!

Lovely week
The cottage was the perfect quiet place to stay during a week of exploring the peninsula and Acadia. Really lovely space with a thoughtful design and the owner’s art featured throughout. Had everything we needed, beyond just the basic cooking utensils, etc. Lots of wildlife to enjoy in the woods surrounding the house. We enjoyed chatting with Françoise and Scott, who were generous, gracious hosts. Highly recommend!

Wonderful barn
My toddler, husband and I had such a special stay in Blue Hill. The house is so well renovated. It was incredibly comfortable and the layout was so flexible. We cooked in, went out, took naps and explored the area. We would definitely stay here again. The hosts are on site (across the driveway) and incredibly friendly, but also gave us so much privacy. Really a perfect experience.

Delightfuly relaxing stay
Our family of 5 (plus dog) enjoyed our week stay! One of our favorite rental experiences so far. Francoise and Scott have thought about everything. They truly care about their guests experiences. Our three children enjoyed the upstairs to themselves (including the piano and desk area). The kitchen had everything we needed. We even felt at home being able to compost and recycle.
The location of the cottage is great. A walk into town (although a little tricky since since there isn't a sidewalk for the first little part) is feasible. It is also relatively close (hour ) to Acadia and many of the main hikes. Definitely check out the wonderful hikes of the Blue Hill Heritage Trust- they have great letterboxing to do with the kids and wonderfully well kept trails. You definitely get a different vibe in Blue Hill. Much less crowded!! There is also a great book store and toy store right in town and a very large grocery store!
We wished we could have stayed longer.

Coastal Whimsy/Completely Welcoming/Accessible
Our family was lucky enough to stay an entire month with Francoise and Scott. Our experience at the cottage was very whimsical and relaxing. As soon as we arrived our whole family was smiling at the inviting facade of the cottage, surrounding gardens and wooded area. When we started touring the cottage, you could hear me squealing “this is PERFECT” on the video I had taken of the interior. The views from the windows, artwork, the piano, the FULL KITCHEN and washer/dryer…and the living space full of books and games and brochures …perfect. The kids (and our cat!) loved the upstairs space and made it their little spot. The master was quiet and private enough that we could put the kids to bed and enjoy a glass of the delicious wine that was left in our “welcome” gift basket!
Francoise and Scott thoughtfully sent us greens from their garden when they knew we were around and would chat a bit with us about our stay. We barely saw them otherwise. However, we were easily in contact when we had a question.
The location cannot be beat! We went all over the peninsula and up and down the coast. It is incredibly accessible. We enjoyed the library and co-op and Sandy’s for breakfast and we went to the farmers market and our kids jumped off the big rock at high tide at the park—not to mention all the crab “finding” they ended up loving to do. Blue Hill is quaint coastal Maine.
We did a ton of small day trips from Blue Hill. Made some local friends. Ate great food! Slept well. Climbed Blue Hill!!
We felt completely at home and welcomed. I have recommended the cottage to my entire family and friends and we will be back for another visit!!

It was hard to drive away. The openness and peacefulness of the property provided the getaway we were looking for. The Cottage is spacious, but cozy. As we all needed a break, so did our dog. It was great to be able to bring her along. It was the best addition to our Labor Day weekend road trips. Thanks for everything.! We’ll definitely be back.

Within the first 24 hours after arrival, we were wishing our stay was longer. Everything we could have needed was accounted for in the home. The home was thoughtfully designed and well-stocked for anything that might come up from kitchen basics to beach towels and cleaning supplies. Our hosts were incredibly gracious and welcoming as well as very responsive to any questions we might have had about Blue Hill as well as the home.

Fabulous, highly recommended
Great stay for a family of 5 with 3 small kids. Easy access to downtown and yet wonderfully private with plenty of nearby trails to roam during the day and star gaze at night. Home is very well stocked and Francoise and Scott are simply fantastic.
Home and hosts aside, we've stayed at a number of communities now on the Blue Hill peninsula and found Blue Hill to be the best from an infrastructure perspective. Good grocery store options, a number of restaurants and cafes, some shops, a beach, hiking and even a hospital just in case... And yet, it maintains small-town charm and doesn't have the same crowds and traffic of some other communities. Definitely recommended!

Great house, fantastic hosts and incredible location
The cottage was a great fit for our family of 5. We loved the solitude and the proximity to the village. The garden is idyllic getting veggies and greens from Scott and Francoise's garden was a lovely gift. We saw deer and wild turkeys wandering through and got to know the finches extremely well. We spent lots of time reading and swimming by the rock in town beach, and renting a board from the activity shop was a huge bonus. The cottage was a great location for visiting the area.. deer isle was amazing, Scoodich point an absolute highlight. Excellent coffee from the Brooklyn expats at Bucklyn coffee and high quality food from the nearby coop were a big bonus. Loved this place and can't wait for the next chance to visit.

Wonderful, Magical Place
The cabin itself is great. A big roomy space upstairs, a very nice bedroom downstairs with a well appointed kitchen and living space. The grounds are well maintained, with a small brook that runs into small waterfalls which our grandson spent many hours exploring.
It’s an easy walk into Blue Hill and despite Covid, most merchants and restaurants there were open, with slightly curtailed hours. It’s any easy drive from Blue Hill to MDI, Acadia and Bar Harbor. Plenty of hiking and biking trails everywhere.
All in all, a very enjoyable stay!

Lovely stay in Blue Hill
We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It was so well appointed, we were able to cook almost all of our meals there over a few days. Everything is cozy, sweet and made us feel right at home. We did a day at Acadia/Bar Harbor, which is about a 60 minute drive. We especially loved our morning and evening walks along the meadows that line the property (hosts OK'd us to enjoy it).

Fantastic 3 Days in Blue Hill
My wife and I recently spent 3 nights at Peter's Hill Cottage. It was exactly what we were hoping for. The cottage was perfect; quiet, peaceful and very well appointed. It is in a great location to explore the area. Castine, Stonington and Acadia were easily reached for a day of exploration. Our hosts were responsive and attentive. I highly recommend a stay at Peter's Hill Guest Cottage. Our stay here was the highlight of a week long trip up the Maine coast.

Idyllic Cottage
Beautiful cottage, wonderful hosts - everything you could want! Cottage was spotless, welcome basket from the owners who couldn’t be more accommodating - yellow goldfinches and wild turkeys too! So close to Blue Hill and Kneisel Hall and a waterfall hike in the Blue Hill Preserve system nearby.
