l'accueil de notre hotesse à notre arrivée : elle avait prévu une collation très copieuse et était d'une grande jovialité et,la maison était parfaite avec une vue exceptionnelle. le lendemain de notre arrivée Despina est venue nous montrer toutes les excursions que nous pouvions faire et tous les restaurants qui étaient très bien. Super

The villa is stunning and impeccably furnished we all loved it. Everything worked, the layout and quality of the villa is fantastic. Cannot fault it in anyway.

Absolutely nothing!

Amazing views, fabulous villa, wonderful, lovely host who gave us some delicious homemade Greek food on arrival and midway through the week. Everything was taken care of, the rooms were cleaned regularly, the pool was cleaned every early morning and anything we needed could be arranged. Such lovely, kind hosts.

The whole villa is amazing! Beautiful furnished rooms, maximum privacy and of course spectacular views !!! The owner - Despina is a fantastic women, who took care about us the whole time ! Just after arrival she showed us on the map a lot of interesting spots to go and eat. She even brought for us 2 times (!) home-made typical greek pastries for breakfast :))) We also received everything what we asked for during our stay (egg. additional sunbed for child, ...). Great stay location for families or friends !!!

There is nothing you could improve in this amazing villa :)

We loved the swimming pool with stuning view, the various dining areas, the nice en-suite bedrooms and the decoration of the house. Our host Despina welcomed us with special sweet cakes and was always available for us.

What a great place to spend a few weeks. Villa Sophia is located in the hills between Elounda and Agios Nikolaos and has wonderful views over the bay, the little harbour and the purple mountains. The freeform, infinity pool is as good as it looks in the photo's and the terrace is very large. The Aretaki family are excellent hosts, nothing is ever too much trouble and any problems are sorted immediately. Despina cooked us a wonderful meal when we arrived and did the same when my brother-in-law joined us as well. The little treats that she and Ioanna dropped in were also delicious and much appreciated. There is a really good gas barbecue and the best thing is that the pool man cleans it early in the morning, so you do not have to do so yourselves. The kitchen is a little small, but very well equipped and more than adequate. It is surprising what one can fit in the little dishwasher. There are many excellent restaurants in Elounda and Agios Nikolaos, just ask Ioanna for recommendations. We particularly liked Kanali, which is beautifully situated and serves superb sea food. At the Villa, we enjoyed taking our meals on the covered terrace outside the kitchen, where one never tires of the views and the Cretan breeze keeps you cool. The accommodation is very good, especially the beautiful Pool House, although it would benefit from a larger wardrobe and a chest of drawers. The beds are very comfortable and the air conditioning, which one definitely needs, is all Daikin units and very effective. Lucy and her cleaning team are very friendly and accommodating. The parking area has awnings to shade the vehicles and there is also a small car port. The local taxi service is very good, they generally arrive within five minutes, but do tell them that they can turn round at the bottom of the drive, or they wait up on the road and you do not know they are there.
