I keep coming back to this spot. It's worth it for the view alone.

This house far exceeded our expectations. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. The great room was awesome with all the windows looking out on the water, islands and lobster traps. We enjoyed the fireplace on cool evenings. The bedrooms were large and had private bathrooms, and the beds were very comfortable. The host was great! She answered all our questions and gave wonderful advice. We would love to stay here again!

What a wonderful site for a Maine vacation! An ever-changing panorama out the bank of windows. Tides changing, cruise ships entering and leavning Bar Harbor, clous play over the mountains.
Strongly recommend.

The house and views were amazing. Close to Winter Harbor but still isolated and quiet. I highly recommend this place.

Our first night treated us to a beautiful sunset and views of Bar Harbor across the bay. Conveniently located close to the Schoodic Peninsula and about an hour from the popular sites in Acadia National Park. Huge windows in the open kitchen/dining/living area gave us views that went on forever.

Absolutely fabulous views!!! Needs a larger hot water tank for sure! We enjoyed our stay for the week!

We spent 6 nights here and had a fantastic time. The views from the house are absolutely stunning. The house is huge with lots of room for everyone to spread out and do their own thing. We have nothing but positive things to say and would definitely recommend anyone to stay here!

Beautiful home, needed some TLC. TV’s didn’t work. Many pots and pans needed cleaning. Fireplace needed fixing, but was taken care of. LOVED the views!!! Driveway is difficult. Overall, with a good scrubbing, and clean closets it would be perfect!! 😀

Breathtaking views! Worth the trip up that driveway! Lol.

Stunning views. The house needs a little TLC. Maybe a little extra cleaning of floors and windows. Kitchen was under stocked. Old pots and pans. Only 5 dinner knives?
BUT — THE VIEW MAKES UP FOR THE SHORT COMINGS.

Our family had an amazing experience at this lovely house. It's winning feature is the huge wall of windows that allow about a180° view of the Frenchmans Bay and surrounding waterways. Also a full view of Cadillac mountain. We were in awe when the fog blew away shortly after our arrival and gifted us with the view of lovely Maine ocean scenes and the mind blowing sunset following. Every evening was a toss up on whether we should watch the sunset from the house or take the short drive to Schoodic point to see it there. We enjoyed watching the lobster boats in the morning and were able to see them pull their traps. Also got to see a cruise ship pass by on its way into Bar Harbor. The house was very spacious and more than served our needs as a family of 7. We cooked alot of meals at the house and had sufficient cooking supplies. The landscaping around the house is largely left in its native condition, so you may find some wild berries very close to the back door. This also means that there is no grass as such for yard games, however our children enjoy photography and nature for which there are abundant opportunity. We were kindly allowed an early check in which we were happy to take advantage of! Also the owner was able to provide us with a full tank of propane when we discovered the one we were using was empty. I would say that the washcloth supply was on the low side for our family, but since a washer and dryer were available, we just ran a daily load, and made out ok. We appreciated the quietness of Winter Harbor and drove to Schoodic Peninsula daily to see the awesome beauty of the wild, rocky Maine oceanfront. Did do the approx. 1 hour drive into Bar Harbor one day, just to experience the shops and the drive up Cadillac mountain. This house will always be a wonderful memory and we will recommend it to our friends!

Beautiful home with breathtaking views of Frenchman Bay and Mt. Desert island. All of the rooms are good sizes… very comfortable. The only problem we had with six of us there was we frequently ran out of hot water. The owner was very receptive to addressing and said there were problems in the past.

Majestic Views is Amazing
Majestic Views is an amazing house with views second to Cadillac Mt. The house is modern, clean, convenient to get around and was perfect for 5 sisters to come together and enjoy the week.

Ideal location, especially if you like being slightly off the beaten path. Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor are only an hour’s drive. Schoodic Peninsula is 15 minutes away where you can hike and ride bikes to your heart’s content. Of course, you can always just sit at the house and soak in the magnificent views of the bay and Cadillac Mountain.

Hi! We just returned from Maine and we really enjoyed our VRBO house. We live in Colorado so steep driveways are a way of life where we live so the driveway was interesting but not a big deal. The most incredible thing about this house is the view. We could not wait for the next sunset. One sunset was so incredible I will probably be entering my photographs in a contest.
The property manager went above and beyond answering little questions for us. With my husband being an engineer he was really curious how they could have built the house in the first place on top of its hill. I loved not having a lot of things to do before we left. Leaving the used towels in the laundry room and taking out the trash was nothing.
Both families that were there thought we would have an expansive deck from the pictures but it was a little deck. But once again, the house is mainly windows that look at one of the most beautiful scenes in the United States.

Home had exceptional panoramic view of Frenchman's Bay and Cadillac Mountain. Only guests with 4-wheel drive vehicles should stay here. Both the prior guest (with a Mazda Miata and our group with a Odyssey minivan) got stuck on the extremely steep, long dirt road/driveway to the house and required a tow truck to move the cars. Heavy rain had softened the dirt and made it impassable for many vehicles. The property manager did not alert us to this issue before we got stuck. I had to use my AAA membership to get towed. The property manager helped us carry our suitcases/items to the house, but we walked up and down the steep & long driveway each day. The property manager did not offer to reduce the rental rate based on this major inconvenience or reimburse for towing.

Very quiet, isolated and picturesque. no other houses in sight, total privacy. Very enjoyable for us.

We stayed for 6 nights with 4 adults and 2 children. Spent days in Acadia and afternoons on the deck or playing cards taking in the beautiful views. The drive to Mt Desert Island is about an hour but we’ll worth it if you want to take in the sights but also be far from the crowds. Winter Harbor has plenty to offer for food if you never want to leave! House was large and comfortable. Would stay again!

The view is absolutly amazing. Pictures do not do it justice. Loved sitting in the dining room and watching the lobster boats checking their traps. The house was perfect - everything we had hoped for. The driveway is a little challenging but that's what it takes to get the view, so was well worth it. Schoodic was our favorite park - after our first visit we took a picnic lunch and went back to spend a day. An absolute must is the Acadia Puffin Cruise out of Winter Harbor. Amazing seeing all the Seals and Puffins up close. We enjoyed the Bar Harbor Whale cruise but the Puffin cruise was by far our favorite.

I love Maine! I also loved the panoramic views we had in our rental. I thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This beautiful secluded house had the most beautiful views upstairs, downstairs, all around! Every bedroom, bathroom, common room was clean and spotless. The kitchen was huge! There was a small deck on one side of the house that offered views of the water and Acadia in the distance, with nightly visits from the resident porcupine. The driveway was steep, but not unmanageable. A garage door opener is provided in the house and you can park in the garage.
Less than 10 minutes to Winter Harbor, some small shops and restaurants located here. About 20 minutes to the beautiful Schoodic part of Acadia. About 1 hour to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
There is no air conditioning in this home, if you go during the summer months be prepared. Some of the windows could open to create a cross breeze to help cool the home down in the afternoons, however some days it was not helpful. Some fans were in the house, but some days with the afternoon exposure of the sun, the house can get stifling.

If you like views, and can sit and look and think for hours, this is the place for you. We were there over 4th of July and had fireworks shows from every direction. Winter Harbor is a lovely small town with the essentials. The drives around the area are lovely. It is remote, but thats what I like. Sunny days, cool days, dreary days...they each have their own charm. Weather is a gamble...we had 3 great days and 3 overcast/rainy days...enjoyed the house either way. Driveway is gravel and steep. We had a 4 wheel drive vehicle so it was no problem, but might be for lesser vehicles. A few cosmetic changes I would like to see, but even without that, I would return again.

The house was secluded, very peaceful and relaxing. We watched a porcupine in a tree just out side the window as well as wild turkeys and deer. The view was breathtaking. Plenty to do in the area, just be prepared to drive. Wonderful place, hope to come back again.

The first thing is of course the amazing views from the house and the deck. The house sits up on a hillside and offers truly impressive views across 180 degrees of the bays. The main living area is large with a fully appointed kitchen and washer/dryer. Three full bedrooms, each with a private bathroom, and an extra 'landing' space bed offers many sleeping options. The privacy of the property offers serenity. The driveway up is a little intimidating but the views and space once at the house are worth the treck. Property is close to the small Winter Harbor town (Highly recommend the Salt Box restaurant!) and just a short drive to Schoodic point and park. It's about 45 min drive around the bay to Bar Harbor, or take the ferry across. We enjoyed our week-long stay very much and Marcella as the VRBO contact was awesome to work with before and during the stay. We're missing the views already now that we are home. :-)
