I love the comfy beds and couches. The house smells so natural and clean, not like harsh chemicals or artificial room freshener. I love that we were able to bring our senior dog instead of leaving him at a kennel.

The deck door was hard to lock up.

This house was in an excellent location for us and will probably be for you too. It was only minutes from my daughter's home and you could be in the center of Bar Harbor and the entrance to Acadia NP in minutes as well. It's a very private setting and the rooms are very spacious. In great weather, you can enjoy morning coffee on the deck. Be aware that you enter the property from the back door. By the time you stay here, the new two-car garage will be built. You need to pull around the side of the garage to get to the back door. There's a nice turn-around so there's no need to back in or back out with your car or truck. You'll really enjoy the huge kitchen and open living room. The owners are extremely responsive and proactive. That's a good thing.

I couldn't locate it and maybe I missed it, but nowhere could I find a 3-way switch at the top of the main staircase that would turn on the lights to the lower level. This means you had to go down the steps in the dark - or at least I did. Every other house I've been in or built myself I had put a switch on the wall at the top of the steps. That's the only defect I could see in the house itself.

The home was perfect for our family of 6 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 dogs. Great amenities. The kitchen has more supplies than my own home. The grounds are spacious and beautifully landscaped. The deck is where we gathered at the end of the day to reflect on our Acadia hikes, shopping and sight seeing. The toddlers had ample room to play and the media room is a special treat. We hope to come back to Modern House for years to come. Thank you to the owners for sharing your spectacular home.

The house was very well appointed with everything we could possible need. Owners were very responsive and the house was very clean and so comfortable. The library/plant room was so relaxing and beautiful. The location was perfect. Close to Acadia and Bar Harbor but with a huge outside areas for our kids to play and a quiet neighborhood. We absolutely loved this home!

Curtains on the downstairs windows would be great so our kids didn’t wake up with the sun at 4:30am. Otherwise, wouldn’t change anything!

Our hosts were the best - super communicative, kind, thoughtful and helpful at every turn! We loved that their home was pet friendly, as it just wouldn't be a holiday without our beloved dog, Kevin. The home was gorgeous, everything was in tip top shape and very clean.
