1. Staff - they are very helpful, attentive, and great at multitasking. The one person working the front desk is also preparing the morning beverages. When the aircon in our room broke down at night, they had it fixed the next day. There gave me a cup of hot water for tea whenever I asked.
2. Location - in front of train station that takes you to Porto. Also steps away from Vila Flor garden and a supermarket. Ten minute walk to city center. Restaurants next door. Safe area but I found all of Guimaraes to be safe.
3. Coffee- my husband loved the free coffee that came with breakfast
4. Housekeeping- used towels were changed every day. They make the bed.
5. Bathroom- clean and spacious. Very good water pressure.
This is a 2 star hotel so manage your expectations. For me, it exceeded my expectations for a 2 star hotel!
The hallway and stairway lights are motion sensored. The place can look dark. The sensors are not very fast in detecting movement so you may be in the dark for a second or two.
Free breakfast is mostly a variety of sweet baked goods.
The sink faucet in bathroom was loud when in use. There was no sink and tub plug.
I wish there was an electric kettle in the room.

The location is excellent-an easy walk to the historic center. We were lucky and got their one parking spot. Breakfast was very good and good value for the money.
There was an issue with the hot water supply. Hot water was intermittent and often absent.

The hotel staff is exceptionally nice! The receptionist'll willingly help you, but at the same time, you'll not be disturbed in any way. My room was very clean, with a comfortable bed and an AC (which was a life-saver during hot days). Regarding the location - the hotel is close to the city center and the bus station. I highly recommend this place (especially taking into account the price) :)

Car parking was limited to two cars only on the road outside of the hotel.

The location next to the train station and bus stops for the buses to and from historic Guimaraes, it's also a reasonable walk, if you don't mind the climb on the way back! The staff in the hotel are very polite and helpful, the rooms are a bit dated but everything works and is well maintained. Breakfast is good with a range of cheese, meat, bread and pastries. There are a restaurant and a cafe either side of the hotel and a few metres walk away another bar and restaurant. I thought the hotel was good value for money too.
The hotel is noisy at times, I'm not sure if much can be done because of the age of the building but if the rooms could be better soundproofed it would help.

Nice small hotel in front of train station. 15 min to the city center by foot. Air-conditioner in every room.
Also we had nice view from our balcony.
Parking space for only 2 or 3 cars in front of the entrance, however there is a free parking nearby. Rooms soundproofing may be better ) Also some wall outlets were broken.

Perfect budget hotel with an excellent breakfast available for 5 euros.
This hotel is perfectly situated a few minutes walk from the old quarter, and 15 minutes walk to old city center. Limited parking available right in front, more parking anywhere on the street.

Literally a 1 minute walk from Guimarães train station. Friendly helpful staff, who also spoke English, when checking in. The room and bathroom where spotlessly clean. Probably one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, with clean, crisp white bed linen. A bonus was that the night in the hotel, was so, so quiet, you're guaranteed a good night sleep. Brilliant selection for breakfast the following day. I'd definitely stay here again.
