Third visit of the year as we really like going to stay at the Civitas. Lovely hotel that has been renovated to a high standard. Thoroughly enjoyed the jacuzzi bath, comfortable bed and pillows.

Shame breakfast isn't offered in the winter as the Civitas offers one of the best breakfasts, but understandable.

There was no breakfast served as it was the winter season. We were hoping that the hotel’s restaurant would serve food on Christmas Day and the following Bank Holiday, but the restaurant was closed. Fortunately, a few places were open elsewhere. Also, the hotel doesn’t offer any free parking.

Good location and the hotel is stylish. Room was well appointed with very good quality furniture. There was a full size fridge and kitchen sink which was useful. Nice to have a window overlooking the sea

The room was long and narrow so it was very dark without having all the lights on. It was very noisy in the early hours when the Bars closed

Small cozy hotel with really Great location and very friendly people from reception and team. Room with windows to atrium is really quiet. Hospitality and care about all guest's needs.

The location was perfect, the breakfast was excellent and the 2nd receptionist was very helpful and informative.

We were upgraded from a regular room with a sea view to a suite with a view of the back alleyway, the 1st receptionist was very abrupt and told us not to come back until 3pm, the room was dark, the furniture was very stained as was the bathroom door, the bathroom was very dated and the vent for the bath wasn't fixed just leaning against the side, 1 towel hanger was hanging off, the drawers in the kitchen had a layer of dust on the top edge.

A lovely hotel in such a fabulous location in Rethymno in easy walking distance to the ferry port, and the restaurants of the old town. Our room had a little balcony with a great view of the port and was larger than we anticipated. Reception staff were very friendly and helped with restaurant recommendations (resulting in us enjoying one of the best meals of our trip).

There was very little to point out in terms of issues - there was some rusting on the chrome around the shower head in the bathroom.

Absolutely amazing. Room was even better in real than on the photos. Very well equipped.

Localization in the city center, nicely decorated rooms and hotel. Very helpful staff.

There was mold in the bathroom. The breakfast was served after filling in the form in the reception - we were not comfortable with such a solution. We were also stressed due to the fact that our card was used for the payment without consultation with us - I received a payment notification on my phone while being out of hotel and I could not recognize the payment.

They lied about all rooms have sea views and that all rooms have showers. When I questioned the staff they said that there are no sea views and only one shower in the whole building. This is false advertising!! The very low pressure water from the little spray in the old bath was ice cold.

The hotel staff maid service accommodation and location were all brilliant. Just part of a fabulous holiday.

The location was excellent, in the heart of the old town which we love. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was lovely too.

The Suite didn’t look as good as the photo’s on the site, the bathroom was a little tired.

The location, breakfast and facilities were all good. Breakfast is a huge and generous Greek style meal, served in the hotel's own outdoor restaurant.The staff on reception were great, helpul, friendly and professional. The hotel is on the seafront, near the entrance to the new harbour and on the edge of the old town.The hotel has been updated in elegant Venetian style.

The bed is on a different floor to the bathroom (split level suite) and the stairs have a very rickety handrail which is tricky for a night time visit to the bathroom. The view over the harbour was great but not easily visible. We did not need to use the kitchen but it was not fully equipped eg no cutlery at all, no glasses, not really useable. Hovever there are restaurants and bars directly outside.

Young lady on reception was lovely.Great location, wonderful break fast. Liked the jacuzzi bath. Truly a boutique hotel.
