Noise from residents until 2.am on the balcony, drugs involved

Staff were lovely at check in (at sister hotel), called to see if room was ready early for us.

To call the room Spartan would be putting it lightly - a very small room with twin beds on wheels that kept moving around, we had to prop one with a heavy bag, a pokey little bathroom and small balcony. The shower was so small I had to shave my legs outside it - and the nozzle was spraying everywhere and there was no room to bend over! There was also a weird smell - my friend thought it was male cologne, I think it may have been the cleaning products that are used? But it was quite off putting and we had to sleep with the balcony door open to air it out. Overall it felt like a cheap private room in a hostel - not a hotel.

Minimalist .. clean , comfy bed

No consierge

The room was basic, but clean and conformable, so just what I needed for a couple of nights. The location is great, with plenty of cafes near by and a pleasant 25 minute walk to the CBD.

The check-in procedure was not so convenient. There is no reception at Majestic Minima, so you need to check in at another one of their hotels around the corner. That's OK, but it closes around 9.50 or 10.00 pm in which case you need check in at a different location further away. Because I had a late flight I arrived around 9.50pm and there was miscommunication between staff at the two hotels where you check in, such that I had go back and forth between them, adding extra time and taxi charges, which as a bit of a pain. Also, the door to the room was wonky and hard to open.
