Wrong meals given at restaurant then overcharged. Room was looking old and tired. Pool area shabby.

The rooms were extremely damp. There had been rain for a couple of weeks prior but everything was damp - pillows, bedding, toilet paper. We moved to another hotel on the same street and had zero issues with dampness. Hotel itself is quite dated.

Rooms were tired. Lacking small things like stationary. bathroom shower wouldn’t stay up on the rail.

No outdoor furniture on the balcony so that was disappointing also balcony railing very rusted. Also ordered toast for my room disappointed that I had to pay $9 for the room service costing $21 for 2 pieces of bread. The rooms also need an update. Faded carpet and some black marks on the ceiling. Also overhead bed light did not work on one side.

The location was great, as were the staff. Super helpful and greeted me at every turn. I left my wallet in the room after check out and panicked. They promptly sent someone up to the room to find it and called me straight away.

It was slightly outdated but great value for money.

Comfy beds, a stocked mini bar, coffee machine. A great location to the waterfront restaurants and central Cairns. Loved the grand foyer !

Another hotel bathroom with a poorly designed shower screen , meaning the bathroom floor was flooded whenever someone showered. Fortunately I was able to get 3 bath mats to stem the flow. Pool area looked a bit tired. Need to find a qualified Barista to make coffee at breakfast - if I’m paying for a coffee I expect to be able to drink it!

The reception and tourism counter staff did not appear to be able to answer our questions about where to go or what to do.

I liked everything about my room except the PRICE! I missed my connecting flight in Cairns and had to look for accommodation. I would normally never pay $400 a night for accommodation but considering I was stranded for the night in Cairns, I had no choice but to pay as it was the cheapest I could find on Booking.com.

Our room was very nicely refurbished. Comfy beds great view of harbour. Breakfast buffet very good.

Inconsistency of housekeeping. First day our room was not serviced. Another day we were not given complimentary in our room.

Proximity for restaurants in CBD

Expected 5 Star accomodation - aside from the lobby, the rest of it was very far from 5 star rating. Rust pockets & missing tiles in the pool; water damaged peeling laminate furniture in the room; duct tape on the worn hallway carpets as prime examples.

The location was excellent and the view from our room was spectacular.

in the middle of the city, close to the restaurants, casino, harbour and esplanade. updated room with coffee/tea facilities, bar fridge.

Breakfast was wonderful and so was dinner. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The Pullmans was beautiful.

The lobby was beautiful. The breakfast was the best buffet I've ever had. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Couldn't have asked for better staff. And the location was great! Easy walk to everything. Great family holiday.

The the aircon wasn't that good at cooling and the curtains were a bit dirty. And the bed being on wheels was a bit annoying. I believe they are slowly renovating their rooms though. And the lobby was beautiful!! So I'm sure it will all be nice soon.

Breakfast excellent. Staff lovely. Very attractive hotel. Handy spot, close to good restaurant's.

The 2 barman one evening were very rude. We are both in our 80s but brains are not there yet!

The bed & pillows aren’t very comfortable or supportive. The buffet breakfast wasn’t very nice. The hot food tended to be lukewarm & the staff are constantly hanging around the dining area reaching over the top of you while you’re eating to take away an empty glass
