Never again. My family booked three double rooms for two nights. First impression, wonderful high rooms with wood paneling.
Never again. My family booked three double rooms for two nights. First impression, wonderful high rooms with wood paneling. Second, total disappointed about the service and the room equipment,room# 10,11,14 in the extension building. We have never saw such an old carpet with more stains. All the bathrooms have no toilet brush. I take off my dirt, I don’t want, that my wife came into a dirty bathroom, I complained in the morning, in the afternoon our bathroom was not cleaned, terrible and disgusting. In two day nobody was able to repair our TV. The staff was friendly but not helpful. For me, the woman at the reception was awful. A very bad price performance, Never again.

We stay at the Gate Lodge, which was really special and a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The beds were extremely comfortable. Great shower and extra large cast iron tub. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Breakfast was nice. There were bathrobes in the room. Beautiful setting.
We were sent to a room that did not match the booking. It was outside the main building, through a gravel lot with a view of the parking lot. We asked to change and were told there was nothing else. Two hours after our arrival they offered another room. By that time we were already getting ready for dinner and could not repack and move. Felt it was a bait and switch. Very unhappy with the way the situation was handled. Ordered ribeye in the restaurant and was very fatty. Started asking for payment 21 days prior to our arrival, threatening cancellation if we did not pay. Not per policy of booking. Would not recommend this hotel.

Beautifully presented, very clean, well-maintained, very good attention to detail.
Breakfast and dinner were disorganised. The food was fantastic but there didn’t seem to be any one person in charge of the service.

We were told we had a “garden room” when in fact we had a “parking lot” room. we faced the parking lot not the garden. And we paid the same price that a “hotel room” would cost. Big time false advertising. Very disappointing for a so-called five star hotel.

it’s very bad value for money. The hotel is old and is in desperate need of a proper make over - looks like it hasn’t been touched for 100 years. Rooms are sad, breakfast even more sad.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Beautiful location and hotel, lovely staff, great food and very clean.

Great food - full meals at dinner and breakfast were lovely and the wait staff extremely friendly. accommodating to our family of 5.
We had the tower room (family room) and was a little cold despite turning up thermostat - but blankets and beds were still fine.

Hotel is a very nice place to relax, great staff, super clean, wonderful and charming. Breakfast was absolutely perfect. Service in the restaurant was brilliant, the staff need recognising, including the lad serving breakfast.
Whilst dinner was okay, I was expecting more to be honest. Ribeye steak not seasoned or cooked as well as I would have expected for the price. Dessert was cheesecake and this was a soggy let down. The next table’s Fish & Chips and their desserts looked brilliant however!
