The property itself is beautiful and well maintained and sits right on the bus route. The dining areas and pub are lovely with outside tables and the garden is gorgeous.
I had an uncomfortable relationship with the mattress.

Charming hotel in roughly the centre of Islay (though a short drive from Bowmore town). Great facilities. Generally excellent staff. Notable mentions: Hotel manager, the staff at the bar, the gentleman serving breakfast every day (many times all by himself yet doing a fantastic job!).
Service at dinner restaurant could be more predictable. It was at times very nice, but not great on other occasions.

Restaurant particulièrement bon ! Nous souhaitions un hôtel qui fasse aussi restaurant, ce qui a été le cas sauf un soir.
Le dernier soir il y a eu un mariage, donc pas de restaurant, nous avons dû aller ailleurs, mais le plus ennuyeux, c'était le bruit car il y avait une sono et bien sûr nous avions le bruit de la musique !
Les personnes n'étaient pas du tout discrètes dans le couloir, il a fallu sortir en pyjama pour qu'ils comprennent !
Dans ce cas là, l'hôtel devrait être entièrement réservé pour une telle manifestation.

It was a very comfortable stay, all the staff were so friendly and the food delicious - we didn’t have a car so restaurant options were limited (as the bus service runs every 2 hours!), but it was easy for us to eat in-house and the food was great! The bus stop is directly outside the hotel which was very convenient.
Having said that about the food, my only gripe is that the eggs served at breakfast were disappointing. Our poached eggs were more like hard-boiled eggs, and scrambled eggs were much too dry.

Very good and tasty breakfast. Great location. We loved the place and everyone was nice and friendly. We already planning our next visit to the island and definitely will stay at this hotel.

Location was great as it was central . We had a car so we drove everywhere very easily
The only thing that could be better is a change in menu items as they were the same everyday and we expected more fish on the menu 🤣

Party noise to well past 1am. Staff didn't cope well with an extra guest for dinner while servicing a party of about 10 and another small group.

Mein Zimmer war direkt an der Strasse. Aber die Fenster haben alle lärm fern gehalten.

Great location halfway across Islay. Easy drive to Bruichladdich and Bowmore. The very picturesque distilleries down south of Laphroiag, Lagavulin and Ardbeg are a short drive. The room was very clean and well appointed. The restaurant is simply SUPERB, and they made us feel very special on our 20th wedding anniversary dinner!

De ligging van het hotel is wel goed, het ligt ongeveer in het midden van islay zodat je elke kant gemakkelijk kan bereiken en niet te lang moet rijden. Mooie nette kamers en onze hond was zeer welkom, zelfs tijdens het eten!

Beautiful hotel , staff could not be more friendly and helpful. Evening meal superb, as was breakfast.would highly recommend this hotel. Dog friendly and great walk from the doorstep. Ideal location being central on the island. Have been back for lunch and was just as good !

Comfortable and pretty room, excellent service (particularly one of the ladies in the restaurant, who was charming and funny), gorgeous views and a very nice walk into the woods next to the hotel.

Breakfast was a good range of food in a very nice dining room. Parking was sufficient and safe while the staff was top notch, from checking in to checking out. The room was a bit outdated but otherwise adequate for a nice stay on Islay. The hotel has a bar as well as a restaurant. It's centrally located so everything is within 20-30 minutes on the island, which is a huge plus for travelers with limited time (like ourselves).
Small bathroom sink, flies in the room, pothole in the middle of the entrance to the car park behind the hotel.

The Bridgend Hotel is a real gem of a place to stay. Staff are excellent and super friendly. We had dinner at the restaurant which was very very good. And breakfast equally fabulous.

Ian the manager was amazing. He was helpful and full of knowledge and recommendations for fun things to do. The Scottish Breakfast was very filling and the breakfast options in general were great. We loved the bowling and secret garden outdoor activities.
