I really loved the interior design of the communal spaces and my room. The facilities inside the room were well-maintained and very clean. The bed was very large and very very comfortable. The hotel has excellent connections to the centre of Edinburgh either via walking or via public transport. We bought breakfast in the morning and the selection was lovely, with really great food. Every member of staff we interacted with were so kind and helpful and made the stay truly wonderful (Thank you team!). Overall the hotel was excellent value for money and I would very happily stay again!

Modernes Hotel, sauber, gutes Bett. Freundliches Personal. Gute Verbindung zum Flughafen. Tram und Bushaltestellen binnen Minuten zu erreichen. Nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß zur Princess Street. Gemütliche Lounge/Bar mit sehr freundlichem Personal.

-New furnished. -comfy bed. -kettle & tea, -bathtub -Location. Train and tram station nearby. Express supermarket next door

-room rate vs. service (was $290/nt) -not equipped with in room temperature controller unit. Unfortunately it was very cold with gusty wind and was raining during my stay. Been told by front desk staff their heater cannot be turned on yet. Anyhow, thanks to the staff who had assigned me the room with bathtub type.) -entrance light bulb was out but no facility staff over weekend. -missing basic amenities (no soap. No hand towels during my entire stay.)

Room looked and smelled like it was recently remodeled. Bed was super comfy and plenty of storage. Close to Haymarket station as well so very convenient.

It did get uncomfortable as the weather during my stay was unusually hot. No A/C in the rooms, and while you can open the window, there wasn’t much breeze coming in but at least it helped with the stuffiness. Not really the hotel’s fault though as I’m sure this kind of weather is quite rare, but best to have it just in case in my opinion.

Room was clean, staff was courteous, breakfast was okay.

We arrived in the hotel at around midnight. The room was unbearably hot. And I from the Middle East, not from Iceland. Thought perhaps we miss some hidden knob to cool down the temperature. Went down to the reception to ask. The courteous and (perhaps surprisingly) frank receptionist said something to the following effect: "I know, we have a problem with the heating system, they tried to fixed it but could not figure it out, the heat on the other, upper floors is even worse, tomorrow we will have fans". It was cool outside and there is a window but it opens only to a bit over a crack so it was only a very partial counter measure. The very basic feature of a hotel is to provide you a reasonable night sleep and one would assume that if you pick a Marriott brand for a very high price this basic feature will be provided. It did not happen. Furthermore, if you know you have a problem, you should explicitly say on on your Booking entry. Not doing so and charging a full, exorbitant price for what I got, is a shame, to say the least.

The staff were very helpful, appreciated that when we asked for a fan after the first night, and this was not available, we found one in the room in the evening.

No climate control in room

Our room was nice and and the Hotel was very close to the Trams and Train stations. The staff was very helpful and everyone was pleasant. I went out one night to get some late night snacks as the hotel restaurant was already closed. Came back after getting some food and walk into the restaurant to ask for some cutleries, the staff happily hand me 2 pairs, remembered that I had my wife for breakfast, and as I was about to leave, stopped me and handed me some serviettes. Fantastic.

The hotel's location is perfect for people attending the rugby or wanting to be close to the centre of the city. The room is beautifully modern and well decorated, and very clean.

The room itself was absolutely roasting with no air conditioning available. This would probably be lovely in the winter, but in August it was too hot for us to sleep with the duvet on the bed

The location was amazing for seeing all the sites we wanted to see. Our room was comfortable, clean and the breakfast was very good. Everyone went out of their way to help us with trying to track our lost luggage, giving us clear directions, and helping us feel welcome. We will recommend Apex Grassmarket to our friends. P.S. We stayed at the Grassmarket as we were moved there by Apex. We were grateful for the clear and timely communication by the Apex staff to make this happen.

location was super. rooms were tidy at the start.

staff at breakfast were rather rude. bed sheets weren’t changed in the 4 nights.

Our booking was changed to the Apex Grass market so comments are for there. Very clean and comfortable room in a great location. added bonus of a small swimming pool.

we had originally booked hay market as told grass market area can be quite lively and was travelling with 10 year old. Both nights we were woken by neighbouring room having a party but a call to the reception and they made a visit and thankfully noise stopped but unfortunate it happened both nights of our stay.

Location couldn't be better, rooms are new looking and really comfy to large doubles. Front of the building looks up to the castles with lots of fab bars around. The pillows and quilt was feather and I have an allergy to them but let the reception know and they changed them straight over.

Nothing at all was lovely highly recommended
