Sehr nettes, freundliches Personal. Zu meinem Geburtstag wurde der Frühstückstisch schön eingedeckt und wir bekamen ein Glas Sekt. Das Zimmer und Bad waren sehr sauber. Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt.

Lovely hotel with most helpful staff

There was nothing not to like

it was very natural and clean

Very clean, friendly staff, great breakfast.

No elevator, no restaurant in hotel for dinning, small double bed, the bathroom had a sliding glass door instead of a normal door (no privacy), inconvenient location (we had to return to Bad Schandau for everything and there's only one bus to go that runs once every hour), nearest restaurant was about 30min walk, room was very small.

The location was suitable for my itinerary along the Malerweg. There was a bar, the room was warm and cosy. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was great - so much choice and all fresh ingredients.

No kettle in the room was really not convenient, as sometime you want to make a tea or a soup, especially considering the location is on a hiking route. There is no restaurant in the hotel.

Reception was very helpful; I indeed got the transit pass as promised in other reviews, which was very helpful. Breakfast was delicious - coffee on the table upon arrival. Lots of unique outdoor spaces to relax in. I liked that there were bottled refreshments (including beer/wine) available for purchase on the honor system. Location was pretty and quiet.

I booked a room with balcony but what I had was really a roof deck over the building below and view of the parking area, with trees beyond, looking side-to-side. There were other rooms with a truer balcony that had nice views. It was ok in the end and may have been exactly what I chose but hadn't paid attention. It was minor to the the overall offerings of the hotel and the variety of outdoor seating areas mitigated this disappointment. Also, not the hotel's fault but the main town and this hotel (and many others) are separated by a river, requiring either the scheduled ferry crossing, a 15 minute bus ride to the other side of town, or your own vehicle.. if you arrive by train it would be useful to figure out the bus immediately (or ask the hotel in advance for this info) so as to take the bus to the hotel. I am a big walker and it helps me learn the layout, but this was a bit of a hike.
