when i stayed it was still under reno, but my room was super clean and tidy, the guy who checked me in was super friendly and nice. an strayed cat also sneaked under my bed while I was sleeping, it was a bonus surprise for the stay, absolutely loved it

Cleaners do a great job. Spacious kitchen, dining and leisure area.

Great location, smart TV and kitchen was clean.

Parking was $10 a night, coffee machine wasn’t complementary.

Everything. Just a perfekt place to stay in Wānaka. 4 bed dorm room are very spacious, clean and organised. Also the best possible location especially to watch the sun set over the mountains

Just that the day I was there was picture day, where they took pictures and filmed everything. Just made it a bit more difficult to move around but nothing one can’t handle

Located near the beach and main town areas, but on a quiet street. Large laundry room ($) and well organized and equipped kitchen. Super comfortable beds. We were upgraded to a family suite so had plenty of floor space for two of us to do yoga.

The property was being totally renovated and we knew that before we arrived, but clearly our unit was not 100% ready - no mirrors, no hooks in the bathroom….And no access to an inside place to eat, other than at a kitchen counter or on your lap in your room. But that was just part of the reno work.

Situation idéale pour la vue, la proximité de l'arrêt de bus et des commerces. Le dortoir est un petit module avec sa salle de bains et sa mini-cuisine basique avec évier, bouilloire, quelques couverts et frigo. Les lits sont confortables avec des rideaux pour l'intimité. La cuisine commune est vaste et bien équipée. Le personnel est très sympathique et accueillant, le fait que les travaux risquent de provoquer des nuisances est expliqué dès la réservation. Petit espace extérieur agréable par beau temps, pas de bruit malgré les travaux...

... mais pas de salon commun pour le moment à cause des travaux.

It was very satisfactory considering that the two other places I have booked into in the past were booked out.

In the circumstances it couldn't be improved.

Location: near perfect - two minutes walking to the Lake, yet away from the crowded centre.

Hostel is being refurbished at the moment, so you will have to improvise a bit here and there. (Of course, that is only temporary!)

Nice budget stay in wanaka with really friendly people working there.

The location and the staff are superb. The view from kitchen supposed to be really good; however, it is under construction during the time we stayed.

It is under construction during the time we stayed, so I just mention the situation we met. There is a smell (like painting or construction) in the room, but you can open the window.

Quan vam arribar a l’allotjament ens havien assignat habitacions diferents a les que havíem reservat i pagat. Va haver-hi un malentès amb la comunicació. El noi de recepció va intentar trobar la millor solució possible i al final ens va donar un upgrade. La situació és molt bona, davant del llac. Molt tranquil.

Res. El malentès a l’arribada va ser una mica estressant però al final tot es va solucionar.

It was nice that the beds had curtains because we were able to have some privacy.

People weren't in their allocated beds which was bit annoying and there was no onsite parking due to renovations, but this was communicated ahead of time.

Great location and accessibility - right near supermarkets and parking wasn't much of an issue as we thought it might be. Straight forward booking system. Beds were comfortable. Nice common area - could benefit from more outside seating overlooking the beautiful lake!

Expensive for what we booked! We had a twin room with ensuite - not too clean (eg hair in the shower). No access to wifi in our room - if we wanted internet we'd have to go to the common areas (which are not connected to the main building). No air conditioning or fan at all which was quite uncomfortable for us too. Just a few things that unfortunately made the stay less enjoyable - especially for the very high price we were paying. Would have been acceptable had it been a lower price.

Friendly staff. My room (4-bed dorm) had its own private bathroom and 4 big lockers that could fit my big suitcase and more. Free parking on the street and I was always able to find a spot.

I could hear people from the room next-door but I had earplugs so it wasn't too problematic.

Trè propre incluant la cuisine commune. Lits confortables. Tranquille la nuit. Bien situé, devant un parc en face du lac. Tout près du supermarché. Endroit barré où entreposer les valises pour nous permettre de visiter en attendant le prochain départ. Personnel très sympathique.

No cups , plates or cutlery in kitchenette . Just some cups for water would be handy .

Perfect location!

I had a private room and the sheets were not clean. The pillows smelled like body oils. The room and hallways are well overdue for a paint job. Staff were extremely nice and the community areas were fine.

Everything was clean. Kitchen top. Only a few steps into town and to the Lake Wanaka. Friendly and helpful staff!

Location was great and lots of sitting area in the lounge. Great view from the lounge. Outdoor bbq available. We arrived late and keys were waiting for us at reception.

A little dated and slightly weak wifi from the room. Felt a little overpriced or less value compared to the other YHAs we stayed at in NZ, but I’d stay again.

Noise off other patrons after quiet time and no enforcement of TV volume and conversation level and volume.
