Getting to stay in a hotel in a UNESCO World Heritage site was an amazing experience! The hotel was built in the 1700s as a copper and lumber storage and working area. The building has been beautifully renovated. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The food at the special Friday night dinner buffet was delicious. We could not recommend the Copper and Lumber hotel more highly!
Our room had two stories; the heat pump was on the top floor. Cool air did not get down to the lower room. We were able to borrow a floor fan for that room which helped a lot. Other than that, it was a terrific stay!

The hotel is lovely. My room was big...it had a seating area to watch t.v. and also a concealed area to make tea..coffee and also had a microwave.
The bed and pillows were really comfortable . Cleanliness was of a high standard in both my bedroom and bathroom.
I only ate breakfast each morning at the hotel but it was very tasty. The servers were polite and friendly....
I want to say a special thank you to server Shanika...it was a pleasure to have her serve my breakfast.
All the staff were very friendly and polite.
I would highly recommend this hotel.
My bathroom was a little narrow and had a step down at the door which I kept forgetting the first few times I used the bathroom.

We were supposed to get full breakfast based on our room/suite.
We only got it the last day. Before that we only had continental breakfast.

Location fantastic. Breakfast average.

The location is excellent, right in the historic Nelson’s dockyards and very close to lots of restaurants. The hotel itself is rustic and full of charm, and the staff extremely welcoming and friendly.

stunning rooms .. but
no restaurant or bar (it was advertised as being open) the breakfast was very average, if outside guests arrived they got a much better menu !! the cost was astronomical .. and the roof leaked into my sailing bag just before I went on a 5 day race so I had soaking kit .. the room wasn’t serviced every day .. the shower was tiny

Amazing location in the heart of English Harbour. Amazing staff in what was a 1 night stay that turned in to a 3 night stay last minute..

It's a cool old somewhat Disney-fied building. Nihil obstat.
The restaurant is a ripoff but if you walk off campus down the road there are a ton of places to eat.

authentic and different from the hotels that I have stayed in
there was nothing that I didn’t like about the Hotel

The staff was amazingly helpful kind attentive friendly and thoughtful
The room needed wall or door hooks to hang clothe, wet/damp suits towels etc.

Very comfortable room, historic building, excellent location for historic area.
I could have done with more options at breakfast, but the food was good.
It would have been convenient if the restaurant was open in the evening.

Dinner was included in the price. DBB rate
We stayed for 4 nights but on 2 evenings the restaurant wasn’t open. Ate there one, okay, didn’t bother the other night.
Not aware of local beaches or anywhere to swim

Fantastic location, helpful, friendly staff. We didn't know that the Atlantic challenge finishes right outside the hotel and we witnessed a GB female duo arriving having rowed the Atlantic in 59 days. What an amazing thing to witness.
The water taxi man (not attached to the hotel but working from the area in front of the hotel) didn't come to collect us from galleon beach as arranged at 5 even though we had paid him for a return journey and then when questioned the next day, were told it was our fault because when he picked up at 4.30 we didn't wave at him!!

The building, location and history
As above...so some of the electrics in the kitchen didnt work. During a rain squall there was a leak from the ceiling next to the dining table. Getting breakfast was tediously long and one of the older staff was exceptionally rude

Gorgeous historic Inn with lots of character features and a lovely ambiance. Magnificent location within the World Heritage Site of Nelson's Dockyard. Charming staff.
The stairs up to the bedroom in our suite might be a challenge for some people, especially in the dark. Would be nice to have more outside seating for hotel guests.
