Perfect spot to relax, has 4 beaches but only 3 are swim friendly, beach on royal palm has massive blocks of concrete that makes it very dangerous for swimmers. Staff were amazing although I find the lady at the reception very rude, the oldest one. The rest were simply fabulous David, Luciano and all the servers during breakfast lunch and dinner were fantastic!

Beperkte menukaart lunch restaurant aan het strand (3 weken ook hetzelfde). Te weinig schaduwplekken aan het strand en 's middags ook aan het zwembad. Bij boeking via booking.com moest je extra betalen voor de transfer van en naar de luchthaven. Door een foutje van iemand kregen wij het toevallig wel vergoed, maar men zei duidelijk dat dat eigenlijk niet correct was.

Breakfast was lovely. The restaurant gave lovely views. There was an option for hot chocolate or peppermint tea.

Due to the layout of the hotel, guests have to walk extremely long distances from their bungalow accommodation and then have to climb two sets of stairs to reach the restaurant. This made accessibility for meals a huge task for myself and other guest who have difficulty walking long distances and climbing stairs. A buggy cart would have been so much appreciated, and also a lift to avoid the stairs.

This felt like a proper Caribbean resort, unlike say The Royalton, which feels like an American resort in the Caribbean. The grounds are beautiful, with an historic feel, they've used a suger mill for the on-site shop which is a great touch. The staff are amazing, Debbie at reception made us feel very welcomed. Our room didn't quite match our expectations due to the trees blocking our seaview, but that was swiftly sorted. Staff member Brad ensured we always had drinks, always smiling always willing to help, the same could be said for David and Dalston. All very nice people that represented the hospitality of Antigua.

The food is very limited, a few more Caribbean options, in particular Antiguan cuisines would of really matched the amazing surroundings. Not that the food was bad, everything was tasty enough. One of the members of staff at the evening meal was a little rude, he wasn't happy we sat at a table with a red slash, his colleagues didn't seem to mind as it was our anniversary. Apparently it was for a birthday girl. The consistency in cocktail taste varies on who was making it, which was a shame. When made correctly they were amazing, but when made by another member of staff, taste and punch didn't hit the spot the same.

The grounds and location are beautiful. Great beaches and outstanding view from the dining room/ upper bar area.

The windows in the rooms have serious problems. Most of the louvred blinds would not work in the first room since the open/close mechanisms were stripped- no screens on the top front of the windows and no way to close the blinds well so the room was filled with mosquitoes. Paid extra to move to a different room which did have screens on all the windows so we did not get eaten by mosquitoes but 9 of the 11 blinds did not function- so we had an incredible view out the front of our room but could not open the blinds to see it. When we moved to the second room, the air conditioner did not work but they did get if fixed about 6 hours later and the toilet flush mechanism had rusted away but able to keep the toilet from running using a shampoo bottle. Good variety of food but not very high quality. One of us is gluten free and she got sick two times despite only eating what she was told was gluten free- not a safe place to visit with food allergies.

All rooms very tired, our loo was always leaking and kept filling up all the time. Leaving the floor wet all the time. Needed a good lick of paint and updating

A 3* resort in a lovely position with a naturist beach to the south. Our accommodation was better than expected with quiet fans and good air con. Upgrading this resort would spoil it, there aren’t many low key resorts on the island. No mosquitoes.
