A group of coworkers all stayed here for a conference that was at the OMNI. Although we didn't use the public transport, we did get uber's regularly and it was $7-$10 everytime we went somewhere (for a large group). I loved that each of us had our own bed. The beds were super comfortable. Location was great and easy to get to. Restaurant up the street, LaComida was AMAZING - highly recommend. Check in process/communication was super easy! Five stars!

Great Experience!

The property was exactly like described and the pictures are very accurate. It is in a great location and within walking distance to many food options. We felt safe, but was on a very busy street, so if you have littles just make sure they don't venture outside. The property consisted of 3 stories which allowed everyone to spread out-which was great with our large group. The beds were very comfortable and everything was very clean! Parking is very limited and if you have more than 4 cars you have to park across the street. Also if you have small children they should stay upstairs because the lady living under the house did not like them playing in the common areas. I would reserve this house again if we didn't have littles in our group, but will probably not book again when we have a group with smaller children.

The house is so spacious. We had 8 in our party for overnights and additional family stopping by at different times to visit and share some meals. The large house made it easy to accomodate all of us. Plenty of bathrooms for a crowd. The decor is beautiful. The house is equipped with everything you could possibly need. The older neighborhood was lovely for walks with a beautiful park just down the road. The host was quick to respond to any questions that I had (I am new at this). Be sure to read about the history of the home and the area. We found it all facinating. The rules were easy to follow, and we really enjoyed our stay. This is NOT a party house, but a beautiful home with so many details to appreciate.

The Roux House is a great place to stay if you are looking for accommodations to host a large group in comfort. The location is perfect, the beds are comfortable, and Christopher was responsive and helpful. Definitely will book again!

This was a great house, close to downtown and had plenty of space for my group. The house was clean and we had a great stay. Would book again.

This was an awesome stay for me and my family/friends for a convention at the Kay Bailey Convention Center. There was plenty of room for all of us!
Chris was quick in his response for an unusual event. The washer went out and I was pleasantly impressed that he had the washer checked out and replaced within hours. I can’t get events like this executed in my own home. So kudos to Chris for how he took care of us! Thank you for an awesome stay!

All the necessary amenities for our stay with the comforts of home. Christopher was a perfect host and responsive to any and all questions or needs. Greatly appreciated the use of this home for our Dallas stay and would return without hesitations.

The house is beautiful and in a very convenient location.

My group of 7 men flew in from Toronto to celebrate a friend’s 65 th birthday. The house was perfect for us. It was close to downtown Dallas. Short Uber rides under 10 dollars. We also went to a Cowboys and Dallas Stars game. Again location was well situated. The house was clean and well stocked. The beds were very comfortable. Chris maintained great contact with us throughout our stay. I would definitely recommend this house to larger groups visiting the Dallas area. Thanks for everything.

The home is charming and quaint. There were plenty beds for our party of 5. My friends really liked the colors upstairs and the home. It made them feel like they were at there Mom’s home. The windows in the second floor bathroom were really cute.
The only few downfalls were the smell of the home. It smelled like a dog kennel and the tenant downstairs was unexpected. The tenant had dogs out each time we came or left and they barked and jumped a lot. We feared they would be able to jump the fence. The parking is also tight. You have to drive down a curving steep driveway and then maneuver around the various parked vehicles if you have more than one. In our case we had four vehicles and it was tough to pull in or out once parked. The home had amenities including linens for the stay. The big turnoff for us was the bad odor. We would suggest a couple of throws when you are in the living room. It gets a bit chilly.
The proximity to downtown was great. All of our events were downtown so we could just drive down Zang and back into downtown in a few minutes.
The owner communicated daily which felt good. We knew he wanted the stay to be pleasant for us and we appreciated his check ins.

Every year a group of family & friends travel to a different city for sporting events, dinners & sightseeing. We almost rent a home & we are so glad we rented the Roux House, a wonderful choice. There was plenty of room for both sleeping & gathering together for meals/conversation. Ample parking in the rear of the property, home was clean upon our arrival & basically equipped with everything we needed. The best surprise was the neighborhood & the great restaurants we tried, many within walking distance. We even took the trolley into downtown which wound up being a nice treat. I'd highly recommend the Roux House as a great place to stay!

Can’t say enough how much we enjoyed the stay at this historic home . The host was great from the moment we booked till the minute we left. He was quick to respond to any questions or concerns we had, which is great when you are away from the comforts of your own home. The location is great , close to almost anything you could want to visit. The only downside, which the host had no control over was that my beloved Longhorns lost to No U..jk lol . Would recommend it to anyone who reads this . I will stay there again . Thanks Chris

We needed a place for family traveling to Dallas for a wedding at a Deep Ellum venue. This was a great location and we found time to walk to the Bishop Arts Disrtict, which was awesome! The house was perfect for our group. Plenty of space; bathrooms and kitchen area. Chris was very responsive to all of our questions and needs. The downstairs tenant, Michelle, was super friendly! I wish I could’ve invited her to the wedding! Would definitely stay again and have already recommended this place to others!

Property worked out well for us. Nine adults with plenty of bed space, TV and internet worked! Good location to Bishop Arts district and close enough to downtown Dallas. Appreciate the owner's attention to making sure we were comfortable.

This is a fantastic home. I stay at VRBO properties a lot & this one is really great. Highlights:
1. It was stocked better than any VRBO I have ever stayed out. Usually, there is just a few items & you have to go to the store. But not here. Plenty of coffee supplies, paper towels, toilet paper (the high quality kind) :), shampoo, conditioner, etc. Nice towels & linens. Great decor
2. The house has 4 thermostats so even the 3rd floor room was cool.
3. There is plenty of room with a big sitting area & a smaller sitting area. A really BIG dining room too. Plenty of dishes, pots & pans, etc. The beds were EXTREMELY comfortable. Everything was clean & neat. There is parking in the back & it is very secure with a high fence.
4. Great location. We were less than 5 minutes from the convention center & there was never any traffic. We all felt VERY safe.
5. There are a few restaurants extremely close.
6. The owner is extremely attentive & easy to work with.
7. There were 6 of us here for a Mary Kay convention. We could have easily had 4 more girls with us & still would have been able to easily get ready bc there are so many areas to put on makeup w great lighting. 3 Full bathrooms & a half bath. Lots of beds. If a family was renting this you could really sleep a lot of people here.
8. I will mention for mobility purposes. The main stairs are ez to navigate bc the steps are small. The stairs to the 3rd floor room are a little steep. Just FYI.

Overall it was a nice location for what we needed.

Nice property, provided all the things we needed.

My family traveled from many cities across the US to meet up in Dallas to spend Father's Day together. The house was great, and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a Sunday feast. On Saturday, we took the streetcar to visit the Dallas Aquarium. The streetcar is free, plus we didn't need to worry about driving or parking, a real bonus for those of us from New York!

We came to Dallas for a volleyball tourney. This home was exactly what we were looking for. Plenty of space to stretch out, convenient location, clean and quiet.
4.8
The house is very large older home on a very busy street. We had a group of 8 that fit comfortably. The furniture and furnishings were very nice. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well.
4.8
When we first arrived we noticed a funny smell and not as clean as we were expecting. We had to go out and purchase our own cleaning products to clean bathrooms. BBQ grill and patio were dirty. Inside was nice and basically looked like pics. However be aware when you check out you will have to strip the beds and put the linens and towels in the laundry room plus you will have to empty the trash. Not sure why 5 hours is needed to clean house between guests. Oh and we also had to purchase additional toiletries because they did not provide enough.
4.8
Being just steps away from the electric streetcar stop made getting to downtown easy, fast, and cheap (free!!). Another nice touch was the big ice machine/dispenser. We were quite comfortable and the host was very accommodating.
4.8
Chris was a great host! Super welcoming, attentive to detail, & overall great communication. The property is super spacious with all the ammenities; back deck, large rooms, bar area, & pleasantly decorated.
There were past reviews, I read, mentioning the driveway. However it is significantly steep and you will have to park accordingly depending on the spot chosen. Also, the house is located on a fairly busy road with a trolly that commutes well into the night.
4.8
there were 7 of us for girls weekend and the house was perfect - plenty of room for hanging out together and having plenty of space to spread out when we weren't. the location can't be beat - you're less than 10 min walk from bishop arts and if you do want to leave the area (which is not at all necessary) you're only a 10 minute drive to downtown and another 5 to uptown.
important things for me: wi-fi was really great - most of us had to work part the day friday and there were no issues
beds were really comfy
house was so clean - like hotel level clean
there's so much good food nearby we didn't cook but if you want to kitchen it spacious and has all the things.
I'm from oak cliff... before it was bishop arts :) and am sad I didn't buy this place before christopher.
highly rec and next time girls weekend comes back to dallas will def stay here again.

Large rooms. Nicely decorated. Very convenient location

This home was so beautifully decorated. The charm and attention to detail made it truly feel like we were staying at a friends home, during our business trip. Christopher was very helpful in recommending places for our group to eat during our trip. The street car was the perfect travel for our group as our convention was downtown at the convention center.
4.8
Wonderful space for our crew ro relax after long days. The home has great character. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms for our 7 athletes to rest and get ready each day. The owner was very responsive to all communications and accomodating to our arrival and departure times. Would recommend!!

Nine of us came to town for a Bruins/Stars game. I was in charge of finding a place that could accommodate all of us. Upon seeing the pictures for the Roux House, I immediately wanted to stay there. Chris was great and very easy to communicate with. He was very patient with my questions and flux in the number of people. Upon arriving, this house did not disappoint. It was very clean, had several cool features and enough beds to accommodate us. The house layout allowed for us to hang together but also gave us space when needed. The suite upstairs was perfect for those that are part of a large group but still want some privacy/quiet time. The only thing I might recommend would be maybe also using a liner for the shower in the suite bath. There are a few stores nearby for quick supplies and some great restaurants in the arts district. Downtown Dallas was a short Uber/Lyft ride away. This house is perfect for any groups and the cost is well worth the money.
4.8
The property has a great location and is well kept. The host is great also and has wonderful suggestions
4.8
We had a good stay although I felt the towels and shower curtains could have been a bit cleaner. All in all the house was fine, it has the ability to sleep a solid number of people and I believe everyone would be comfortable. The arts district is super close and there are some great restaurants there. Additionally downtown Dallas is very easy to get to and the highways are very accessible.
4.8
Everything smooth and very nice. Will definitely rent again!
4.8
We had a wonderful family gathering. Plenty of room to spread out and plenty of bedrooms. Great location - walking distance to Bishop Arts area with lots of shopping and restaurants.
4.8
We came in town for a Bears cowboys game. The location is awesome as far as being convenient to everything. The beds are very comfortable. We had 8 of us and still had plenty of room. House is perfect for any groups and cost is well worth the money. The biggest feature was it was clean which is always a risk for any rental, no concerns on cleanliness at this one so book freely.
4.8
The property is the perfect place to stay if you come to experience the downtown Dallas area. The house is spacious and beautiful. Our family came to Dallas for a family wedding. At the time of booking, we did not know that we had just rented the perfect property. Lots of things to see and do within walking distance. Everything else is a short Uber ride away! We highly suggest this property…

The Roux House was sufficiently accommodating for our family and friends. August in Dallas is very hot and humid, but the house was nicely temperature controlled. Christopher, the host, was welcoming and very easy to communicate with.

Loved our stay at this beautiful home. Can’t say enough good about the owner. Very attentive, answered questions promptly and very helpful with all questions about the house and area. Will stay there again!
