In a building with character. Clean and uncluttered

Good central location, nice views, comfortable beds, comfortable sofas, good supply of kitchen goods. Didn’t notice any noise from the neighbours’ or from the road outside. Plenty of hot water for showers.
It was January so it was a little cold when we arrived and took a while to heat up. Perhaps a timer would be good. The property was advertised as having parking, but it was on street parking and we had a lot of stuff in the car. I expected there to be dedicated sage parking. We were a tad worried leaving it out of sight overnight. But all was good. The TV/DVD could do with an upgrade.

Spacious, clean, welcoming to our dog as well. Really close to the ferry, the train station and the city centre, without suffering any of the negative side effects of said proximity, like too many people or cars.
Great! Would stay there again!

The property manager, Ruth was wonderful, went above and beyond normal expectations.
The property advertised a washer and dryer, which it did not in fact have. On the upside, Ruth was amazing, as she actually took our clothes to be dried.

Pleasantly appointed, comfortable beds, lovely view from lounge, central.
The shower is unacceptable. It has a 20-30 second cycle from cold to tepid to scalding, making showering extremely challenging, and the water pressure is poor. The floors are very creaky, so anyone getting up at night disturbs the others, but that may not be a problem for other people.We wouldn’t have wanted to spend more than one night there.

Spacious apartment with 3 bedrooms sitting room and a nice cosy kitchen. Beds very comfortable and the property was close to town centre and port.
For apartment with three bedrooms the bathroom really let it down. Long narrow room. Not suitable for 5 people. The shower was very hit and miss. It needs a second bathroom with shower for the size of the property

We never received the key lockbox code and spent 2 1/2 hrs trying different combinations before finally hitting the right one. we feel that compensation is necessary for this gross inconvenience by either or both the host or Booking.com. PLUS, Bookings.com’s messaging of the host DOES NOT WORK. We tried repeatedly to message and could not get it to send. Booking was of no help either. At this point we will avoid using their site.

The aesthetics of the apartment

Location
3 main issues with this house.
1. When we checked in around 7:30ish in the evening, the house was cold (3°C). The heaters took almost a night to warm up the house. We were shivering through out the night while we were having dinner and sleeping.
2. Owner was rude.
Owner barged into the house before we even checked out. This invaded our privacy as the owner opened all rooms to scan and called us out rudely for keeping the house messy, whereas we were just sorting out and packing our stuff up. Fortunately, none of us (including the females in our group) were changing clothes.
It would be have been great, if Owner would have communicated the same in a polite way.
3. House is unclean. Dirt in the corners. Plates were dirty. We also found rat droppings in cooking pot.
The other side of the story.
Due to miscommunication within our group, we assumed checkout was 11AM, when it was actually 10AM. The owner came at 10:25AM for checkout. We learned from the owner about the check out time and the confusion in our group. We communicated to the owner that we will checkout within 5 minutes, and clean the house, throw the trash which we all did.

Great views and convenient location
Feel more could be mentioned about the entrance. We arrived at nighttime and it was not lit well. Unsettling when travelling with small children and people in the garden, entrance way when unsure where flat is.

We enjoyed the spacious rooms and light decor. It is a comfortable apartment and well furnished though bedside tables should be provided. The location is good though parking is difficult nearby. The views of the harbour are fantastic and of constant interest. This was a highlight.
The heating only works on one setting but that wasn’t explained to us until I phoned. This should be stated upfront. The rear ‘garden’ is not attractive. The bedroom curtains need to be lined to block out the lights. Some maintenance needs done and cleaning e.g. shower room tiles, freezer defrosted.
