my room had a gorgeous view of the garden, the bed was super comfy, room temperature was perfect, really good size room. extra special mention of the window seat! Breakfast was well cooked, a lot of choice, and I just love having someone else cut up fruit for my breakfast 😚. the location was perfect. 15 minute walk into Ambleside or 10min to Rydal, meant we were far enough away to feel isolated and in the country, without actually being isolated at all. bonus ice cream shop at the bottom of the garden on a sunny day 😎 the hosts were the cherry on top

The hosts Paul & Rachel were very friendly and helpful. Foxghyll is ideally situated for walks from the property and has easy access to Ambleside where there are several good restaurants. Our room was spacious overlooking the river/mountains. Excellent breakfast.

Lots of trees and flowering plants in its 5-acre property. Our 3-night stay was very heavenly and relaxing. Pleasureable walking experience from village to village. Highly recommended for a 3~ 5 day Lake District experience.

Foxghyll Country House is in a beautiful location just on the edge of Ambleside it’s so peaceful and the period property is exceptionally well maintained. Our room was ver spacious, well furnished and very comfortable. There was an EV charger too for our electric car. Superb!

we spent four days in a little paradise. the hosts so kind and caring, breakfast with a personal touch, making you feel very welcome. the location is beautiful, and a great base for walks in the area or trips further into the lake district. we had a wonderful time!

We had a wonderful stay at Foxghyll, the room was very comfortable and clean. The location was perfect - a short walk to Ambleside. We took our bikes and the hosts kindly let us store them. Very good breakfast with plenty of choice and especially liked that the Easter bunny visited!

Great location, easy 15/20 minute walk into Ambleside and other walks on the doorstep. lovely breakfast, lots of choice and loved being able to book the time and food the night before. Very comfortable four poster room with everything we needed. would definitely recommend.

Beautiful in the perfect location. Great place to set off on walks or just relax in the gardens. A really beautiful spot, close enough to the popular towns for meals etc but far enough away to feel like your a million miles away from it all. Will be back!

Lovely setting, slightly off the beaten track but is only a short walk away from Ambleside. Very friendly and helpful hosts, the room is really nice big and tidy and the whole house is beautiful. The breakfast is great and have a lot of choices. Definitely would stay again!

Breakfast superb. Owners very friendly and helpful. Rooms good size and very comfortable. Great location with short walk into town. Grounds spacious and well kept. Maps, torches etc available if required.

There was nothing to dislike. The only thing which would have improved this holiday would have been to stay longer!

Stunning house in an ideal location. From the second we pulled up we were in awe. The hosts could not have done more. Would highly recommend this place to others and would stay here again in the future. Perfect distance to walk in to Ambleside, beautiful river and walks from your door. Lovely gardens on site. Great quality breakfast with lots of options. Local maps and torches available to borrow by the door, its these extra little touches that are appreciated and these guys have thought through every second of your stay. Thank you Paul and Rachel.
