Great little place for some peace and rest. The garden was nice. Not far from tourist places with a car. Plenty of parking onsite. Check in and out was about the smoothest I have experienced.

Paper cups for tea and coffee would have been nice too.

We had a really nice stay at this hotel. Our bedroom was large with two very comfortable chairs and a nice bed. There was also a fridge and a TV. The western style breakfast was very delicious. I really loved the rhubarb jam which was home made by the welcoming owner. I think that the hotel is very well situated for exploring the numerous sights around Karuizawa. A few minutes drive from the hotel are two convenience stores and a supermarket. There is also a lot of car parking at the front of the hotel. However, if you are planning on traveling to the hotel and around Karuizawa by public transport, I would definitely recommend choosing a more central hotel. I would certainly like to stay again in the La Forest De Nome Karuizawa and would recommend it to a fellow traveler.

A microwave that guests could use, would be really appreciated.

Old facilities(TV, bed, air conditioning, shower). Mosquitoes inside.

The location is great for quiet repose, but isolated from Karuizawa itself. Staff is kind and the breakfast is lovely! As are the facilities right near a rushing stream.

The isolation means that you should be prepared for several cab rides every day, they get expensive, and nothing much in the area can be paid for by credit card, so have lots of yen. One staff member rolled up guest’s own pillow in laundry and lack of English speakers, plus absent proprietors after 6pm meant getting it back was a bit of a chore. Booking.com helped out with Japanese colleague who could call absent proprietor to convey problem, but guest still had to search through laundry herself. Odd situation worked out in the end.
