What an experience! Halong bay is incredible and absolutely worth it. As a family of one wheelchair user and a kiddo we were unsure how we would be able to go on a cruise but the staff at Orchid made it doable. While not wheelchair accessible they were on hand every moment to assist with lifts on and off the tender, up and steps and over thresholds. While it must have been challenging for them they never complained and made my husbands time on the cruise so memorable! Emmanuel, Tim and Merlin were three staff we remember with fondness, thank you! We were very glad to have chosen the two night option as it gave a great combination of excursions and down time to relax on the boat. We absolutely recommend going! And the food, soooo much and so delicious! We certainly didn't go hungry and our 6 yo even got served her own meals in abundance.

Some parts of the ship, Orchid Classic, look a bit tired but I imagine it's on the water 24/7!

Hele vriendelijke crew, uitstekend eten, hele mooie ruime kamers, erg attent allemaal. Personeel op de boot was echt heel erg attent en vriendelijk.

Ik vond de ontvangst in de zogeheten lounge vreselijk. Daarna allemaal als sardientjes in een bootje gepropt om naar het cruiseschip gebracht te worden. We hadden niet verwacht dat de baai zo vervuild was. Het is niet fijn om tussen plastic en olie te kajakken, laat staan te zwemmen. Hopelijk nemen de vele cruisemaatschappijen hun verantwoordelijkheid en nemen actie om schoon te maken.

Wonderful experience from the outset. Communication was excellent, pickup was ontime and very comfortable, the board / crew / food / suite etc are outstanding and the sights are just beautiful. I cannot recommend Orchid and this experience highly enough.

The boat is just beautiful, not too many people on board so plenty of quiet space. The staff are so friendly and happy. The food on board is good quality and a nice variety. A wonderful experience.

We ordered a bottle of wine to share with friends, a Chilean Chardonnay, and we didn't take proper notice of the price, turns out it cost us $150 AUD, which was a bit of a shock. The same bottle off the boat is around $30AUD. We learnt our lesson and enjoyed cocktails instead!

What I liked the most was the cruise crew specially Tim our restaurant server who was helpful and friendly. The cruise route was great and all the activities we had were wonderful.

Wow, what to say really. What a wonderful overnight stay on the Orchid Classic. The rooms are beautiful and filled with colonial charm (while still having great modern conveniences). TV, safe, power shower and bath. Five star service from all staff. We didn’t have to lift a finger from the moment we were picked up from our hotel to the moment we were dropped back. The food was delicious (every single course of the five course lunch and dinner and the delicious buffet brunch before disembarking). The itinerary is packed, but the staff make it feel very organic and we never felt rushed. We enjoyed the evening cookery and the trip out to the caves and the squid fishing. We didn’t do the kayaking, but this was personal preference and everyone who took part said how much they loved it. The best thing about the boat was the people - the staff were lovely and despite doing this everyday with high turn over it felt personalised, and that it down to the energy and loveliness of the very hard working staff. I could go on, but I will finish by saying that this smaller more expensive cruise is worth every Penny.

Nothing, but I myself would not recommend the jumping into the water if you are not a strong swimmer as the current is very strong - staff should advise of this

The boat is very beautiful, typical vietnamese junk boat style. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. Only 14 rooms on the boat makes for an intimate experience. Food is unbelievably good and they really adapt to dietary requirements. The day events are well organised and fun. Out of all the boats we saw on the bay this fleet looked the most looked after. Highly recommended 👌

The cruise was wonderful, we had a great time. The ship was beautiful, and the crew was extremely helpful and very friendly and nice. The food was really good, our compliments to the chef.
