The owner is too sinister. The landlord purposely set up a trap and charged us to damage her wall, when there was no way we could make it up.

Last month during our 10-days road trip, we had a horrible and terrible experience at this very old apartment, where we were asked to pay $150.00 security deposit after we had finished booking, the only security deposit we were required to pay for during our whole trip. Booking.com said we had to pay. We lost our deposit at the last. On the second and the last day, the faucet of the kitchen ran slow and small, and we told the landlord. Landlord replied “I had arriving guests and the faucet had to be replaced. Before replacing the faucet I had my handyman come to investigate. With much effort he could not fix the problem. A plumber had to come. He said it was damaged and had to be replaced. The new faucet cost $120 and it cost $150 to install it. Please note you were not charged for the purchase of a brand new faucet but charged for the labor to install the new one. “ We asked for the licensed engineer’s investigation report that proved the last and normal use of the old faucet causing the flow of water smaller but not natural worn-out, and as well as the invoice of the installation cost, but she refused to provide. Wondering how many security deposits did the landlord detain in her “30 plus years “ of renting business without providing proofs and invoices? Does IRS know it! ？Were these expenses deducted the rental income, too? Hopefully, justice will be served. The apartment is really old. One bedroom does have an AC, but the plug could not reach the outlets. It was really hot.  The old floor of the bathroom on the third floor was cracking and sinking with small debris, and one of us fell once and got hurt, and was also locked in the bathroom twice and could not get out from inside.

Comfortable and beautifully appointed home. Centrally located. Lower level feels like an art gallery and has an open format. Upper levels are private with comfortable beds and nice bedrooms. Our group of 7 enjoyed the stay found it a perfect place to relax and unwind after conference. Neighborhood has great shops and restaurants a short walk away. Responsive and helpful host, too.

This home is filled with beautiful art pieces that really add to the quality of the home. The beds were comfortable and the appliances were all modern.

The flat has a lot of space with multiple bathrooms and is a very genuine historic house. The owner was very responsive and easy to contact!

During the weekend it was noisy in the neighborhood (busy street nearby). The equipment is quite basic - besides sleeping there is not much you can do - and at least a fifth chair somewhere in the house would have been nice to allow everyone sitting together. On-street parking was quite a challenge!

Bloomingdale is a stunning spacious property with very comfortable beds. The property is very well furnished and the African sculptures on display are absolutely magnificent! I feel the pictures don’t do this property justice at all. We really appreciated the fully furnished kitchen too. Check in and out was a breeze, and communication with the host was excellent! Our family of 5 adults had much more room than we could ever use! This is a property we will be talking about to family and friends, and we’d be delighted to rent again on our next D.C. visit.

Impressive decorations downstairs, very plain upstairs, but it did not matter much. There were 6 of us, but only 4 chairs at the table. If there were more people, it would have been really challenging at breakfast time. Kitchen had bowls, silver, etc. There was a towel for each of us, but not much more. Plenty of outlets to charge things, easy in and out, very close to Capitol Ave.

We were confused about parking, there is only on street parking, and there is a paper that needs to be put on the dash to allow the car to stay in the neighborhood. Having a plan for that would have been better. The third floor bathroom floor was soft (some water damage). We let the host know. It did not affect anything.
