Great location close to central park, lovely owner with great recommendations and very helpful, nice kitchen and rooftop terrace with views over city.

Very few communal bathrooms and showers, only 2.

the owner, Tom, was incredibly helpful about organizing trips and giving information on things to do. He was also very nice. The terrace overlooking the city was lovely and the place had a very nice vibe overall.

it could be a bit noisy at night. we didn’t find the upstairs bar to be too much of a problem, but the street noise was kind of intense and there’s nothing anyone can do about that. just bring earplugs.

Kasa Kiwi Hostel is amazing. Tom is an incredible guy, so kind and helpful and really helps to connect guests to ensure that people have a friend to visit attractions with (if they want). The kitchen area and balcony is amazing, lots of storage space for all the guests to store their food. 2 water filters available for drinking water. The roof terrace is beautiful and comfortable and becomes the only roof top bar in xela from 3pm Tuesday-Sunday. Kareoke Tuesday and Thursday a lot of fun but finishes at 9.30 so not a problem for getting to sleep. The rooms are large and comfortable, lockers available with plenty of space. Towels available for rent. Lots of tours on offer from hostel via Monteverde which is a great tour company. Tajumulco overnight tour is a must, so incredible. I loved xela so much and this hostel!

I didn't like the purified water, it had a weird taste. The price for renting a towel is more than 2x higher than in other hostels.

Location is great and staff is very helpful. The rooftop terrace is nice and the view is amazing. Beds are comfortable.

Stayed in a room with shared bathroom. The room was clean, but there are only 2 showers for the whole hostel. The facilities are cleaned daily, but since there are so many people the toilets and showers were often not clean.

Really cool and beautiful hostel with vibrant rooftop bar. Has great views. Only stayed one night but room was very clean. Kitchen looked well equipped and very social feel. Great price!!

Showers and bathroom are in the outside area which can be inconvenient as Xela is pretty cold.

Wonderful base in Xela with beautiful views from the roof terrace! The beds (individual, not bunk beds) are comfy and the showers are hot. The kitchen is good and the filtered water tastes delicious. Quiet but central location. Not a party hostel but easy to socialise. There's karaoke at the rooftop bar Tues and Thurs but they stop by 10, a nice way to meet local people and sing if you want to! Absolutely the highlights are Tom and Mary Lou who run the place and have tons of tips on how to explore the area. They can organise transfers, volcano hikes, hot springs etc. I loved it here!

Comfortable bed and warm room (6 bed dorm) compared to others. Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Rooftop bar with a great view but no party hostel. Easy to meet other backpackers.

There could be more common toilets and showers.

Tom is full of information on how to do hikes both with tours and individually. Rooftop terrace is also great. Comfy beds.

Most people are doing hikes so there is a lot of movement around the rooms from.about 4am - not Kiwi's fault though. Bar can be a bit loud (but closes at 10 so not a big problem)

Wide and open rooftop. Great burger und Beer there on the rooftop.. cool Music. It's a great spot to explore the town. Super friendly owner, nice to talk to him, has great tips.

In the kitchen the things can be renewed. Old used stuff like plates, cups, pan .. but still nice to cook here self. ..

Spacious dorm with big and comfy beds. Good kitchen and nice roof terrace. Staff was happy to help.

Bathrooms were downstairs and quite basic, electrical terminal block was just hanging above the showerhead, apparently it works but I felt a bit unsafe about it.
