Would highly recommend! Beautiful house on the water

Our family has been vacationing at Chautauqua for many years. This is one of our favorite rental properties. Our group of 20, ranging from 2 years old up to 67, had plenty of space. The house was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals, the pool area is great when you want a break from the lake, the fire pit is big enough to accommodate a large group. There's a public launch very close by for kayaks. Our family stays on the lake but there are shops and restaurants close by.

Our family booked this stay nearly one year in advance and absolutely loved it. We needed a place large enough for the entire family so we could view the 2024 total solar eclipse together.
The host was very responsive and helped answer all our questions leading up to the stay. A few days prior to the visit, the property manager, Jackie, contacted us to ensure we had everything we needed (e.g., firewood, blankets, etc.).
The check-in process was easy, the rules/guidelines were very clear, and everything matched the listing description. It's a beautiful home in an excellent area. We were a short drive from Buffalo and Niagara Falls. There were also several nearby hiking opportunities. The children in our group loved playing basketball in the driveway so that was a pleasant surprise as well.
There was a minor issue surrounding the cleanliness at check-in; however, the property owner, Linda, addressed our concerns immediately. They went above and beyond what we were expecting to get the issue resolved.
Overall, it's an excellent home for a large group of people and I'd recommend this to others. Seeing the eclipse with my entire family was a once in a lifetime experience and I'm thankful that we found such a wonderful rental. Thank you Linda and Jackie for the great service!

The check-in process was super easy, and able to check in early which was really nice! The house is very spacious and never felt crowded with 16 people. Few concerns with the house but Jackie was quick to answer. The check out was SO easy. We had a great time with family and enjoyed our time together

We stayed for a week in July for a family gathering—11 of us from age 10 to 78. Our experience had negatives and positives. The major problem was that we were never able to use the pool. We were told all week that it was unsafe to swim in—and it looked VERY cloudy. Not having a pool was extremely disappointing for all of us. As I told the owner, the pool was a major part of the reason we chose the house, and we only looked at houses with pools. The owner did apologize and she has promised us a small partial refund, but we have not yet received it (two weeks past rental). She also has not responded to our request for a larger refund. Other negatives: Many rooms were difficult to keep cool in the heat of the day. And the house really needed some more regular maintenance, as lots of little things were broken or missing. For the most part, these were minor annoyances that you could overlook (and we mostly did), but for the price charged for the home, it was surprising. There were also positives, and if not for the promised refund that we have not received, we would have given a higher rating. The house is spacious and large, and had plenty of room for our group of 11, both in terms of bedrooms/bathrooms and in the dining and living areas. The lake view is beautiful and we got to see different water fowl (and an otter) throughout the week we were there. We also enjoyed fires in the firepit, playing pool and ping-pong, and the wine/beer fridges were nice to have.

This house and property have all the makings to be a SUPER place to rent. It needs major TLC. My suggestion: Close it down for a week to paint, to do a DEEP cleaning, repair broken items, maintain landscaping and pool. That being said, we had a wonderful and memorable time by overlooking the TLC issues. Grand kids said it was one of their best vacations. Working with the owner and property manager was extremely easy.

It was a cool week with occasional showers, but we found things to do--dock fishing, kayak, canoe, visiting sites in the area, ping-pong and games inside the house and campfires at night. It is a peaceful place. We found out the week before our visit that the pool was not available to us due to maintenance issues but the owner offered us a small refund and the use of her kayak and canoe in exchange as a good will gesture, I accepted. The gas grill was in horrible shape, it took my husband and son over an hour to clean the grates and burners before we could use it---the burners were rusty and really need to be replaced. When I brought it to the house mgr attention, Jackie said, "I'll probably replace it at the end of the season." It did service us for the week. I was moving the toaster and a large amount of crumbs came out from the bottom the pull out tray was loaded, as were the slots, I cleaned the toaster, lining the bottom of the sink with the crumbs and filling up the sink strainer, Jackie apologized about the toaster saying that shouldn't be. I was told that the bathrooms would have a couple of back up rolls of toilet paper---most bathrooms had small used rolls under the sinks, 2 bathrooms had one full roll with a used roll--Jackie did bring a few extra rolls when she came to check the pool. Jackie, the house mgr. was pleasant, approachable, and responsive -- but maybe her staff needs to be better trained or supervised.

Jackie was a wonderful property manager and was extremely timely with communication. The property worked great for our large group that included kids. As the title says would 100% stay again. The house was well stocked with everything in the kitchen and linens were comfy! The views are stunning from this house. We can’t wait for our next stay.

Beautiful setting, adequate kitchen supplies with a very small food refrigerator for a house of this size. The house needs work, drywall scraps left on shelf, sliding doors did not open, air conditioners left in bedrooms from summer. The property/house was not as clean as we have seen in past stays, windows left open. No garage available, TVs didn't work (we used our own), heat was off/not working in main floor bedroom. We had to find the towels as they are not in the bathrooms. Tried to communicate with manager, but no response for hours and no help when there was a response. Literally, let in with key left under the door mat.

We rented this house for Thanksgiving weekend. We had 14 guests, including adults and children ranging from 17-3 years of age. Upon arrival we realized that 3 of the bedrooms on the second floor did not have electricity. I called the property manager, Jackie, who said “yes, I know. We’ve had electricians there all day”. Wow! You didn’t think that was something we should have been informed of prior to arrival? There was an awful burning smell in the master bedroom, which we called Jackie about at 10:00pm on the first night. Needless to say we were unable to use those 3 bedrooms. We had guests sleeping on couches all weekend. We’ve reached out to the property manager, who assured us that she would have the owners contact us. We’ve heard from neither since our stay. The house is beautiful but is in need of some repair. It was ridiculous that our family was not notified of the electrical problem prior to our arrival and is insulting that neither Jackie nor the owners have contacted us after our requests for them to do so.

Everything was awesome about this rental. My only frustration was that we came in December and not earlier in the year where we could have experienced everything it had to offer. Communication was superb. There was more than enough space for all of us and we just enjoyed our time together. You will love being here.

Overall an amazing week on the lake with extended family. Fire pit at night was the highlight for sure! We had fun in the pool and kayaking in the lake. Such a beautiful property. Some things broken in house (a/c, garbage disposal, some adarondeck chairs would fall apart while sitting in them, hammock swing fell when sitting in it (hurt tail bone), sliding door broken, kitchen faucet handle kept falling off, , water pressure and temp in shower, fan, stairs off dock not good

It is a wonderful property. The area had record heat which made the downstairs very warm (no air conditioning on the main floor) but the bedrooms upstairs had window units. Certainly not the end of the world.

Spring Weekend Stay
We stayed here for a golf trip in the area and the house was amazing. It had room and beds for a large group. The property was great a decent amount of yard space and fire pit. Unfortunately, the dock was not put in yet which we hoped to do some fishing off of. The grass in the yard also seemed to not be cut yet this year. Our only other issue was with the plumbing in the house. The showers had terrible water pressure. The property manager was very helpful with any questions we had and arranged for us to get fire wood for the weekend.

Wonderful house!
I stayed here for the weekend with friends and family for my 30th birthday. The house exceeded our expectations! It was incredible. The owners/ property manager were very sweet and welcoming. Everyone who stayed with us wants to come back when it’s warmer to enjoy the view of the lake when it’s not frozen (stayed in February) as well as enjoy the pool! 110% recommend!

The house was beautiful great views of the lake. Plenty of room for a group of guys on an annual ice fishing weekend. The weather wasn’t great but can only blame Mother Nature on that one. All the guys are looking forward to renting the house next year!

Christmas 2021
This spacious home was perfect for our Family Christmas with most of our children and grandchildren. The fireplace and outside fire pit helped make our stay nice and cozy. The Property Manager Jackie was very helpful and responded to my questions promptly. She even made sure that the house was decorated for Christmas and the two Birthdays we were celebrating! Hopefully we will return another time!

Great location, lots of comfortable space
Great house that can comfortably accommodate a large group with plenty of comfortable sleeping accommodations and bathrooms. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the essential tools. The two beverage fridges in the kitchen island were greatly appreciated! The pictures of the main floor do not do the space justice. The large main floor includes the living room area in front of the tv and a cozy conversation area in front of the fireplace, plus ample room for other activities. This was the perfect spot for our family gathering of 10 people where we could have a group conversing around the fire, a group watching football, a group doing a puzzle at a table, and kids playing on the floor all in the same space. The bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen were all clean, but it was clear that it had been a long time since the house had had a deep clean into the corners and under furniture. Overall this was a wonderful, cozy place for our Thanksgiving family gathering, and we'd love to stay again in the summer sometime to enjoy the pool and the lake!
