My friend & I had a family room which although was dated was very clean and the beds were so comfy. Breakfast was continental followed by a full English and at 12.95 was excellent value for money
The entrance around the back after hours was tricky to find. This is going to be addressed for future guests

Comfy bed was the ONLY good thing
Our ‘delux double’ which was acceptable until we started to get ready to go out and we went into the ‘private bathroom’ to be greeted by a toilet full of excrement and lines of excrement down the toilet which had clearly been there for some time as the water was brown.
The sink had not been wiped with toothpaste dribbles on the bowl and mark where a toothbrush had been placed after use.
The wallpaper behind the sink was splattered with toothpaste too.
The bedding however appeared to be fresh, but only one towel to share between 2 adults
We weren’t expecting the Ritz based on the price, but we did expect the place to be clean.
The bedside table draw came apart when opened, and both draws on the dressing table had handles that fell off when opened.
The carpet was also very dusty and didn’t look like it had seen a hoover in a while.
To get back into the accommodation after the pub is shut is unclear and would not recommend, it involves walking round the back of a property and through another property’s garden.

nothing
one of the worst places we’ve stayed. first of all the whole pub & bnb smelt of cigarettes despite there being no smoking signs everywhere. the b&b area is so run down and I was shocked at the state of it for £75. I would pay £30 max!!!! the double bed was SO squeaky you only had to look at it and it made a noise. the windows were that old that the wind was constantly blowing them as they didn’t latch properly so we didn’t sleep. the shower room / toilet is literally caravan size you could barely move. when sat on the toilet you could see all underneath the shower and it was just rubble & dust. tv turned on but didn’t work. all walls paper thin you could hear everyone else in the b&b. to get out of the building “out of hours” was a joke! it was pitch black we had to get torches on our phones and had no idea where we going because we got shown to the door then once outside no signage or lights and it’s all muddy. we stayed here as we were attending a wedding, when we got back from wedding the pub downstairs was having a karaoke night which is fine but it went on until midnight and with the walls being super thin it was unbearably loud! we didn’t sleep the entire 2 nights we were there and if there’d have been anywhere else available we’d have left. absolutely would not recommend

We were looking for some where to stay for 1 night whilst travelling on a golfing trip, some where to put our head down. The beds were extremely comfortable and the price was ideal for a one night stay.
The entrance to the back of the property was not very well lit up and we struggled to find the rear entrance at the end of the evening. It is understood that the owners are looking into this issue and will be addressing it soon.

Location
Was very dated, was like staying in the 70s. The bathroom door didn't close.
When we checked in we were advised there was karaoke which didn't finish until 11.30 and was very loud that we got no sleep and was not appropriate for a family with a child

Nice, friendly pub with a good atmosphere.
Plenty of banter & good humour.
We were only staying overnight & didn't know that Friday was karaoke night, so it was a little noisy but by 11.30 it was all quiet. We both slept well & had a great breakfast across the road at No3.
Free on-street overnight parking available on Calgate. After 4.pm till 10.00am the following day.
Sliding shower door needed oiling.

Location is ok
Everything else. Shared bathroom. Dirty, dated rooms bar is ok pints weren't too bad, no food served. Deffo £30 rooms for winter season at most! I've stayed in some absolute corkers for £45-50 and this place didn't even come a millimetre to them.
2.9
no breakfast , location is good with loads of on street parking. staff were brilliant as a no thrills bed for the night the place is spot on i would stay again. wasn't worried about the no breakfast as a few places around to get some food.
to be honest i wish the new owners all the best and for the cost of a double room with ensuite its good value for the money. we stayed on the friday night and its karoke night so the bar is busy ,but it has a great atmosphere

The location. Beds were comfortable.
The rooms were very dated. To get in after 11 am was daunting particularly for 2 women as the road was very dark. There should be the facility to get in through front entrance.

Staff were friendly ideal location and was very clean
Shower was abit small with my husband being 6ft2 and needed a lamp but we just used the 1 on the shaving point
