A wonderful hotel, the breakfast was delicious and plenty of options provided. The hotel had lots of options for dining.
Child cot was poorly constructed and lacked mattress. Had to use towels and sheets.
4.3
Bar staff was very attentive and polite.
Rooms outdated, but at first sight we felt like extending our stay (big mistake) and surprisingly a manager/supervisor shout it out loud for the receptionist to take our payment straight away (as if we had not payed for our first night the minute we checked in, which we obviously did). We were told at the check in we could use spa facilities including robes and towels and first thing we are told by a very unprofessional member of the spa is that the spa is only part of the hotel but not owed by it, after a few eyes rolling we were giving a pair of robes and slippers which by that stage we felt like giving it back since it was such a hassle. Room did not have a remote, after several minutes we got one (with batteries almost dead). Food is overpriced which is completely understandable if you’re paying for fresh produce which it didn’t seem to be the case.
4.3
1) The setting of the Culloden is removed from Belfast, yet accessible by car and train.
2) The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas and the interior decor was comfortable, well maintained and luxurious.
3) The staff were very professional and approachable.
4) The grounds were maintained to a high standard and there was a significant volume of sculptures which would have given the Yorkshire Sculpture site a run for it's money.
5) The hotel was intimate but spacious.
6) The views across Belfast Lough were very picturesque.
7) The approach to the hotel from main roads was inviting and to a very high quality.
8) There was ample carparking.
9) The range of food and drink was good.
10) The breakfasts were excellent.
Couple of issues.
1) Hotel Bathrooms take a lot of wear. The shower door didn't close properly (it opens outwards yet successive guests have pushed it in, which has resulted in loose hinges) and the shower was partially blocked. Periodic testing of drains, fixtures and fittings could do with being increased.
2) The TV - not one of the smart apps worked and the range of channels was limited.

Beautiful hotel lovely places to sit and have coffee or drinks
Staffing is a problem not enough to offer 5 star The fine dining was so bad that we got a credit for the food. So over cooked and obviously reheated and sat under a lamp. So not good. Once again shortage of staff and lacked the fine dining training. Not 5 star. Mgmt need to take notice

The rooms were very comfortable and fit for purpose
A wee bit of banter at the front desk would be lovely to welcome you to the hotel in true n.i style
4.3
Lovely grounds, building and food was excellent!
The Spa was lovely but v rigid about the kids. But overall very good facilities.
4.3
Great place to stay, staff very friendly, breakfast amazing BUT kept 740 pound authorisation from card which takes 5 days to clear, and also took full payment of 700 pound so over 1400 pound locked up on travel card, terrible when travelling from overseas
No card pre authorisation
4.3
Spa and room facilities and friendly staff
Lounge menu should include a beef option
4.3
Lovely big rooms. Bed was so comfortable. We had a super massage and great time in the jacuzzi and pool.
Lots of people putting towels and robes on the lounges while they were in the pool etc
4.3
Perfect facilities, great Spa area, comfortable room, good wifi
Toilet wasn’t flushing properly, breakfast could be better
4.3
it was very relaxing, the spa and pool area where amazing , 3 restaurants all varying in price was great. the drawing rooms and lounge area of the bar was superb
Thé morning breakfast (which was amazing) was disturbed by loud young families. this wasn’t a place for toddlers or infants in my option. this obviously is not an issue of the property per se….
I too had my children with me but would never have brought crying infants and toddlers to fine dining when they were that age.
it was just my experience and I found myself wishing they were seated in a different area for breakfast.
the staff were trying to help the families and were aware of the disruption - they were trying to keep the formal fine dining experience for the other patrons which I commend.

the suite was nice
unfriendly staff and no atmosphere
4.3
Lovely historic building and beautiful grounds. Very festive atmosphere with Christmas decor. Friendly, accommodating staff. Fantastic views over the Lough. Stayed in the clocktower suite, super sized dual aspect room with wonderful comfortable bed and pillows.
Overpriced bar menu and very substandard food. Disappointed that the restaurant doesn't open on Mondays and Tuesdays, despite it being such a busy time of year. For a 5 star, this isn't acceptable. Cultra Inn was an ok alternative for one night but very similar menu to Lough Bar.
4.3
Staff were v friendly and helpful. The piano player was a great soundtrack to our evening. Dinner was lovely. Pool was great.
Bathroom wasn’t 100% clean.
Expensive and 36pounds extra for breakfast was a lot.
Scones were stale.
4.3
Belfry room was spacious, comfortable with great views
Breakfast was poor - even though we had been allotted a specific time we had to queue.
Although there were empty tables, they were not being cleared.
As Non meat eaters the selection was poor, not a great standard and not very warm.
When you tried to find staff to give you missing utensils you couldn't find them.
We were at a wedding which had fantastic food and service. Our room was lovely, but the lasting impression will be the breakfast, and we left rather underwhelmed. It was probably down to staff shortages or inexperience as we appreciate the state of the job market at the moment and it would not put us off returning to the hotel
4.3
The bed was beyond comfortable. Loved the spa. Staff were so so helpful and nice. Gorgeous lounge area in evening with piano and fire -bliss!!
The room needed a good dusting as cobwebs in door frames etc. Not enough milk for tea and coffees!
4.3
Beautiful Estate, appreciated all the dining options
4.3
The staff were really helpful and friendly. Our room was really comfortable, it was convenient to get a train to Belfast and for walking. Beside the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum
The tables in the guest areas were reserved a lot of the time. One table beside the fireplace in particular was reserved for the entire time and it was never used. The hotel restaurant was not open for our entire stay.

Good value for a luxury hotel. Breakfast was great and the staff were friendly. Lovely views out over the bay. Really good gym.

Beautiful property and felt secluded with park grounds. Impeccably kept common areas. Our room was spacious and had a lough view. Excellent front desk, especially as they helped with shipping luggage. Ate in restaurants and all were good. Wish we could have stayed longer.
