Pleasant stay, very friendly and helpfull staff nice located at small harbour

Lovely room overlooking the canal. Plenty of space, very comfortable. Tapas evening meal was delicious with amazing range of choices. Really good breakfast, very friendly service.

1. didnt answer the number when we checked in - so we had to wait outside with no plan B. Eventually she came and said she didnt hear her phone. Emergency check in number not answered
2. Builders so messy
3. Impossibly steep stairs ( no lift) not suitable for elderly or children
4) no chairs in the room - even prisons have chairs in the cells
5) Two sachets for coffee ( no more!)
6) TV was complicated - no instructions left. The hotel check in clerk told us to ask the builders downstairs!

the bathroom doesn’t have sufficient light in the shower. Room not soundproof and could hear the other guests on corridor.

Practically nothing.
The entrance of the hotel was under reconstruction. Cement powder was difussed in the corridor and in the whole internal environment which caused me a strong allergy and suffocation. There was not even a bottle of water in the cool bar. There was no chair of ergonometric quality and hight adapted to the table to sit down and work with the laptop. There was no one in the reception when I reached hotel. The resturant was closed. I had to struggle with the help of my taxi driver to get the key of the entrance and the room which was placed in a small box attached to the wall outside, with a number code someone had dictated to him over the phone when he called the number of contact!
I don't want to continue. This is my second bad experience with Booking.com. The first one was when I was tempted to book the so called "Shaketon Terrece" in Coventry, UK, where I was constrained to stay in a very bad an unhygienic condition from 25th to 29th June.
You may recommend 'Le bon appart hotel' only after they have completed the reconstruction and when the resturant will be open and working. I am totally dissatisfied with my stay in Hotel Bon Apart, Gorinchem.

Excellent location, great room with amazing view - a bit noisy though as we faced the road. Double glazed windows don't really make the difference.

Good location, that's all.
Restaurant/bar was closed. Breakfast was extra. No staff about and extremely hazardous stairs. No shower curtain and water runs everywhere, slip hazard and had to use all our towels up to stop slipping. Room booked was supposed to have a view, we had none. There was nobody about to ask to move rooms as I found the stairs very distressing after a recent operation. We ended up booking a different hotel for the next 6 days of our stay.
